Not being unlimited is fine I guess but it shouldn't break at all when the filter is applied, so say when the mask is out of durability it shouldn't break just not protect you until it'll be recharged or you tap a ammo refill station, it would make it way more useful, like at least if you run out of durability at the worm for example you still don't lose the mask just until you tap the ammo station

Yea they should definitely make it so mask can't break with golden filter on and if it runs down u just take damage til u get outside or hit an ammo refill!? Where it's a frigging schematic it shouldn't break cuz that'd be bullshit if ur mask broke just cuz u got stuck or preoccupied and didn't pay attention to mask!? Really they should just patch it and make it so golden filter is unlimited and can't break or at least just make it so it can't break!!? I wouldn't mind the having to run outside or to ammo refill to let it recharge as long as thing can't break if u get stuck or don't pay attention!?
Its not meant for the worm. Its for infested strongholds and the dark aether storm or even fighting stormcaller. The whole point of it is so you dont have to drive to a mmo crate to refill. Its helpful for people that do challenges and not just play the game and use wonder weapons every game
@@FameMercury I know just it is just dumb you don't get it until you basically don't really need it and the cooldown on the schematic being 2 day's for something so niche is the main reason I see it useless, don't get me wrong it's cool just it's use cases is so limited compared to almost every other high end schematic in the game
Oh and I ain't running highend stuff all the time, ain't even done with all the missions yet
I wonder if unequipting the mask while in the storm will regenerate it in your rucksack. That might be useful if not near an ammo cache.
This is what I was thinking and if you had golden armor plates, technically when you put it back on you could possibly not die unless to zombies. But yeah odds are it'll probably not rejuvenate if you unequip it.
All you have to do w/ Golden Gas Mask Filter is keep an open slot in your backpack so you can Unequip your gas mask for like 10 seconds & let it refill & re-equip your gas mask.

*Edit* //\\ It looks like they patched the Golden Gas Mask Filter this week cuz it doesn’t recharge in your backpack when you unequip it anymore… So now this is officially the worst, most useless Schematic. There’s always an Ammo Cache near any Infestation/ Infested Stronghold to refill your regular gas mask; so what’s the point?

Helps 0% for Redworm. Kinda helpful in Dark Aether. Everyone seems to forget that you can always unequip your Gasmask once your health gets back to full then reequip when your health gets low again to keep your Gas Mask from breaking down so quick & keep doing that until you find an Ammo Cache to fix it or Buy Station & buy like 6 green masks.
Gold Mask Filter is just the Golden Armor.
I'm on the serpentine camo grind and go to infected strongholds for a guarantied 3 boss spawns in tier 2 along with a decent amount of good loot. I've encountered so many wonder weapons its a shame I was on a camo grind. Every stronghold building is basically the same there's only 4-6 variations each with same locations per variation for spores I believe and you can get so many kazimers, monkey bombs, perks, self res, purple tools, and wonder weapons from teir 2 its crazy!
I love clearing Aether Nests, there’s always something worth grabbing in them!
I feel like because it’s a schematic n u have to wait 2 days to craft it again or go thru the da to get acquisitions, it really should be unlimited n never run out. I mean u still have to go thru a lot of work/wait to get an acquisition so it’s not ever gonna be too OP.

man you really want a surprise I'd say 10-20% of the time you can find a legendary weapon or wonder weapon in the top of dokkaebi tower, even found an epic tool in a toolbox there once

I get a lot of large backpacks there as well. I like that tower.
Farming Aether Nests and Infected Strongholds might be valuable to get Turret Circuits if you're struggling with Mega Abominations or other HVT Contracts, but what I'm wondering is how the Golden Mask Filter changes depending on what mask you already have. Is there a difference between the green and purple mask once the Golden Filter is equipped, and can you use it without a Gas Mask at all? Because if you could use it to automatically get a Durable Mask upon exfil after using the Golden Filter, it could have a great niche for those games after you died and need to get a Large Rucksack, Three Plate Armor Vest, etc.
Granted if you're good enough to get the Golden Filter you probably don't die that often, but with disconnects still being as prevalent as they are...
When you use it without a mask it just auto gives you a green mask.
Bak in season 1 i use to find wonder weapon cases in T1 nest all da time
I think a great solution would be to add the PDS to MWZ. Drop that just before your mask is about to pop which would then allow you to recharge maximising your time to over 2 full masks.
Honestly Dougnuts you should make a video about how COD 3 should give good loot in ZONE 3 while doing contracts. Like getting more Flawless Crystal, Legendry Tool, Aether Blade, Golden Armour, Scorcher, and etccc.

It would be a great schematic if it was unlimited. There would be an argument for usefulness if it at least kept your base mask from fully breaking. As is, it's hard to justify wasting the slot on it.
I haven't seen anyone test unequipping the gas mask into their backpack to check if it replenishes in there. That would be a nice workaround when an ammo crate isn't nearby to let the mask repair passively while you sip the gas for just a minute or so

Golden mask filter is cool, but super situational and ultimately just alright. Not to mention, the situations you can put it to use are just, decent rewards on average. Even if it wasn't unlimited, would be better if it at least buffed durability slightly. Although one case not mentioned in this video, Keres is pretty annoying for whenever you feel like taking on a warlord. But also with warlords being random outside of the first bit of when new ones drop, banking on using it for a currently 1 in 4 chance, is quite iffy.
lol the hidden ability of the golden mask is that you don't need to clear the nest to unlock the loot box's just walk inside the nest and grab the goodies and quit :P
Hey Doughnuts, they seemingly changed the incendiary rounds on the MW2 guns. They all seem to act like the ISO with the incendiary rounds. I had luck with the SO-14 and RAPP-H. Took out an A-Bomb Gray no pack!

T2 strongholds are great for circuits, perks, kazimirs/monkey bombs, which I like to grab for tier 3
If equipping the gold mask actually gave you a durable along with the boost then it would be useful. Only time I've ever used one was by equipping it from the rift.
New Subber here. Dough what gun were you using in this run? Looks like a AR or SMG not sure. And what build was it?
Some buildings have the roof door closed but a certain spot will allow you to breathe fresh air without going all the way outside .
I think they need to bring the dmz style crafting to zombies. So to get say the golden mask you need a gold skull and a purple mask to make one like how you had to craft the med vest or stealth vest in dmz. We have the items in game let's use them.
I did my first elder run today got all 3 schematics in one go. Mind you with squad of 4. While getting ready for the dark aether I looted a bunch in tier 3 and found literally 4 epic eather tools in already open eather boxes. Now I find this interesting is it because legendary tools are more common now or is it that people are just spamming legendary tools in their stash that they don't care about epic tools?
Doughnuts, Could you run a 2nd test, starting with a basic gas mask and applying the golden gas filter? I'm curious to see if it would change a basic gas mask into a durable gas mask.

It doesn’t make a green one durable
The green gas mask will still run out faster than a durable & you can equip the Golden Filter without a mask equipped. All you need to do though in keep an open slot in your backpack so you can unequip your mask for a few seconds while it recharges in your pack & you’ll be fine for a while without a mask & then just re-equip it & your health comes back up too.
It seems that the time, money, and effort put into making this and the disguise HAVE to be for something more than what we have now. I would think they both will show their worth in future updates. Maybe in the supposed coming PVP mode?
They put a lot of limitations on this game. It reminds me that Stam-up negated all fall damage and you never ran out of stamina, and PHD used to allow you to make a blast just jumping off of something and it effected vehicles too. Just a lot of things are limited in this game.
IMO the nests and strongholds should have been made more difficult by tier. Maybe add an aspect where the higher the tier, the faster the spores will grown back if you don’t finish the whole thing in a certain period of time. Or increase the difficultly of the “waves” that trigger as you progress.

I could be mistaken but I think the mags of holding has 100% chance from the season 2 story mission. Every time I've done it I've done it with someone else and I think we both have a 100% rate of getting it.
I would be much more interested in doing aether nests and infested strongholds if they made them into contracts. That way in the end game they are way more uselful and more replayable.
Make it like the Dog Bone. Let the schematics in the Dark Aether. But why not collecting items in the Nests to change it anywhere. Or Stormcaller can drop the item. Or the golden armor give the item the Warlords. So you give Stormcaller and the Warlords more sense.
The best use is to not waste the slot in your inventory or storage. Makes you wonder why they signed off on this thing. What a let down

I once got a ray gun case from a normal mercenary small case
and once I got a legendary aether tool from the toolbox on top of the outlast house
Maybe if the zombies dropped things that refil it that would be better kinda like if you needed you could use plates on your golden .. reg zombies drops so much mask time or level and hvts drop more mask time than lower level … I dunno .. it has to be more than what It is to be any good …

Its not silly because you know how annoying it is to refill your mask by running or driving to a ammo crate every time. Its useful even in the dark aether
The scematic would be worth it if it was only a 2 hour cool down, but 2 days for helping a slight inconvenience of having to run to a ammo crate when doing nest is pointless.
And I’ve noticed the tornados seem to make a triangle something big coming soon I hope!
I haven't tried yet but I believe that if you don't have a green/purple mask once you equip the gold mask filter will give you a green mask
If one time use, the filters should definitely be infinite.
I also think the warlords should drop operator items. Like Keres should give an extra durable gas mask.
Others drops like a 4 plate vest, XL backpack (2 more slots), extra equipment pocket (x4 lethal/tactical) and stuff like that.
Would give the warlords way more replay-ability.

I’m very sorry to see zombie slowly dying…I don’t know but my lobbies are empty, hard to find people to team up with, once you get all the schematics, it’s always the same game. No new contracts, no new missions😢

What's hilarious is that you didn't have to go to the ammo box to fill your gas mask firing the Stormcaller fight but you had to go anyway for ammo. Completely pointless schematics

I say it's the Sergeant's Beret. It is supposed to be like the Dog Bone, but the Sergeant generated almost does nothing but get killed LOL!

Whats the point of Golden Mask? We lose out durlast mask when it completely goes out. I dont even try the 3rd Dark Aether, i just continue 1 or 2 Dark Aether.
All season items are weak. And the rift is too difficult for most, so getting people to do the new rift is the hardest part of season 3
Gold gas mask should be infinite.
But there should be a next level gas mask like the scuba mask in DMZ.
The Gas Mask should Double the Durability of the Gas Mask and Quickly Repair itself Out of Gas as it already functions. 🤔

It’s a terrible schematic but clearly the best use for it is the new dark elder aethar as when you go to get the next contract your team is looting rift and you’re in the gas. Then in middle at end boss fight you get in gas real quick which is why that schematic is also found in that dark aethar.
Has anyone tried the warlord that lives in the gas? Only use I really thought of when this thing came out.

The Gold Mask Filter feels rushed to me... it almost seems like a last minute decision to make it regen while equipped instead of a much slower depletion rate. Feels more like a silver mask filter. I have high hopes for season 4 reloaded while thinking of the possibilities!

Yeah. It's meh. I don't think it should be unlimited, but it should DEFINITELY have double the charge of a durable. Maybe cut the recharge rate by half, but give double charge. At this point, it's really useless. I'm not going to waste a bag slot for something I can just recharge at Ammo Stations.

It'd be better if it like doubled or trippled the durability time and if it wouldn't break when it runs down it'd be nice that way u can't lose ur mask!? Just making it so that the mask can't break when golden filter is on would make it more worth using!!?? Plus like mentioned in video the aether nests and strongholds rarely have many exits so u could get stuck and have mask break if u don't pay attention!? Yea the season 2 story mission is the easiest of the story missions probably, aside from that Damm infested stronghold in there..that can be a pain even with death perception!? I got accidentally dragged into that story mission with a group a few days ago!? I had asked if people wanted yo do new elder with me but apparently those guys didn't get me cuz i told them I was at portal at e4 and dude showed up and invited me so figured that's my guys and joined em but then I got promt to vote so I thought someone else used a sigil but then when got into DA I realized it was fucking season 2 story mission and was super bummed cuz I'd used a vr11 and legendary tool and pap 3 crystal but when mission started for some reason one guy dropped a vr11 and asked if anyone wanted it so I took it to replace one I'd used!? So that was ok but it was basically just me and 1 other guy doing the mission the other 2-3 guys were off doing Easter egg shit...apparently they're way behind!? One guy didn't even know there was a 2nd and 3rd Dark Aether!? That's y I tend to run solo!? It's harder yea but at least I'm not relying on idiots to try to help!? U just never know if yr guna team with guys who r good and know what to do or if ur guna get people who don't have a clue!? And its pretty satisfying when u complete the Dark Aethers solo!? I did season 3 DA solo on just my 2nd try!? Watching CZcams videos can really help if ur struggling!? They've helped me a good bit on knowing what to do and how best to do it!? There's a handful of guys I watch but Hypnostic and Spazzo have been quite helpful with strats for Dark Aethers!!? If ur struggling go check those guys out...their video's can really help!? I also watch NoahJ456 and few others!? The only spot golden filter might be real useful could be if u go after warlord keres cuz of the gas in where she's hiding!? Sergeants beret and golden filter could be good for fighting keres!?

I think, if you equip the gas mask, it should remain on your operator loadout as long as you successfully exfil. If you die, you lose it. If it runs out in game, it shouldn't break.. but remain empty until replenished, via ammo cache/ fresh air.
I also think you should be able to aquire in game at buy stations 🙄 as well as other classified acquisitions. Even if they make it wicked expensive!
This is probably more useless than the merc
