Something about the artstyle gives me the vibes of older cartoons that I always loved. Like fosters home for imaginary friends or chalk zone or making fiends. It has Something nostalgic about it already despite it being new. That's exciting.

@@jamesmalik3355 yeah!!! I'm really excited to see it because of this hahah. The love I had for those shows growing up was intense. So the vibes of that mixed with the innovated story telling through cartoons that people have been coming up with? It should be really good.
I wasn't terribly excited for the show initially, but after the theme and musical number previews I am... entirely sold. I cannot wait for another show like P&F that puts a LOT of effort into music like this show seems to. Yes please.

Your idea for this cartoon would've been awesome. But after hearing more about the actual show, I'm pretty intrigued with where it's going, especially with the duo meeting other ghosts and Molly helping her friend with her Bat Mitzvah.
Having never heard about this show until shortly before this video, I'm actually saddened a little bit by the title change. "The Curse of Molly McGee" could be talking about a curse put on her, but it could also be interpreted as her being the curse upon the ghost, which seems to be the angle of the show.
I bet it was an executive's decision. The name of "Beagle Birthday Massacre" was relabeled as "Birthday Breakout" in redistribution of one DuckTales episode in some region, so certain words are probably banned for distribution reasons.

According to the series creator, it was changed because the show was more centered on Molly and Scratch's friendship rather than the curse
This somehow feels like it was inspired by the movie and subsequent tie in series for Casper. Only instead of being a human who's friends with a friendly ghost, she's paired up with a pessimistic loser. I like that angle. And of course you have to get Master Shake himself to do the voice of the Ghost. Come on. Looking at the character, you just hear his voice, even if you don't watch the clip.

I'm so looking forward to this show especially this being the first time that Ashley Burch has ever been in a cartoon for Disney.
The series itself is giving off a Wander Over Yonder and Billy & Mandy vibe, mainly the former.
It seems very Billy and Mandy-ish, but I think it’s only a good thing that more cartoons like that exist
Reading the Title and thinking it was about the Ghost of Molly Malone feels like something I would do.
I’m kinda digging this show. It seems adorable, funny, and I’m pretty excited. I’ll keep a heavy amount of skepticism going in (as I always do) but I have high hopes.
Actually that description of Molly Malone, which I never heard of before and I thank you infinately for telling me, got me thinking- What about a series where one character is a ghost who still has a hard time remembering they're a ghost(Like Molly Malone is an example of a ghost who continues doing what she did in life. She might be aware that she's a ghost and doesn't care, or she might just be so used to her usual routine that she doesn't think about how her being dead effects that) and they're paired with a grizzled old ghost whose not looking forward to playing babysitter/mentor? The new ghost, still not accepting their own death 100% might even be differentiated from the veteran ghost by still looking as close to their former self as possible, while the veteran ghost, having been haunting for who knows how long is a lot more amorphous and dead-looking. New ghost is having to adjust to stuff like being non-corporeal, not having to breath/eat/drink, and being forced to change into more frightening appearances (that actually scare them back to their normal form when they see themselves in the mirror) by the verteran,
Honestly, I love that concept.. hmmm, might decide to give that a go myself.
Between DuckTales, Big City Greens, Amphibia, The Owl House, and now this; I think DTVA is pretty great for the next year and half!

This sorta has some hints of Beetlejuice (grumpy scrafty ghost) Molly's room is in the attic, parents move a lot, Scratch was in a miniature house living there etc.
Finally an animation without the Gravity Falls animation style
To be honest this cartoon seems sweet and cute, looking forward to it
I'm interested in this show, especially now that I know that there's going to be musical numbers like Phineas and Ferb.
However, I hope that the next Disney Channel show we get has a male protagonist, as with the current cartoon lineup there's only Ducktales and BH6, with both of those technically being ensemble shows.
With how many great female led shows we have now, like Owl House and Amphibia, I'd like to see boys get a positive role model in this modern era of Disney animation
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed Disney is sorely lacking in any cartoon shows with a male lead that isn't an Ensemble show.
It makes me miss wander over yonder even more
I also hope we get different personalities for both male and female characters and mian characters. We definitely need a new male main character that's a positive influence, I hope they have a new personality we don't usually see in male characters thats a good influence. I've also noticed for female protagonists that are all sort of the same eager, loud, sort of clumsy but a good person type of personality. I'm not to sure how to describe it. In conclusion I hope we get soon new personalities that aren't usually seen in female and male characters for Disney.

@@gracekim25 it means that the show follows a group of people rather than one character. For Ducktales it's the Duck family, for BH6 it's the entire team
huh, this is a surprised video. thought the next one would be the Halloween episode of Ducktales. i'm ok with this though.
The next DuckTales I'm due for in watch order is They put a Moonlander on the Earth (Which, ties into this video in that it's directed by Sam King, who moved to Molly McGee!) -- the Halloween episode is the one after that.
Though I guess they're both kinda spooky.

This video taught me today that the Molly Malone song is about a ghost. I learned it in elementary school music class, but it seems the teacher left out the last verse (which I found out exists by Googling the song just now). I have no idea why! I'd say maybe she thought it was too scary, but I'm pretty sure some of the other songs we learned had scarier things in them than that. And it does make for a neat show idea I probably would have loved both as a kid and now. The actual show I'm in for the songs and the happy/grumpy friend dynamic. I've gotten a little sick of hyper-cheerful tween appeal characters themselves, but with a premise that pretty much depends on it and might even be poking fun at it a bit, I think it could work for me.

If you let me butt in about the Bat Mitzva episode because I've seen an episode where a character has their their Bar Mitzva (Hey Arnold) when I was a Kid and became aware of Bat Mitzva later on in my life, this is actually the first Bat Mitzva episode that I am aware of
Big Mouth also had a Bat Mitzvah episode but that was far far less pleasant and child friendly compared to this shows depiction of the event
Already binged all the episodes on Disney plus I'm absolutely in love with it now

A Disney show based off a folktale/fairytale would've been a first to me.
Usually they get adapted as a Movie instead. ... and then sometimes a spin off show.
Side note: I love the Ghost and Molly McGee by the way. Just a fun show all around.

it's out now, and it isn't super story driven, it has a few plot points that are gonna be strung across the series, but mostly episode to episode

I'm sorry I just cant get over the fact the room makes me think of gravity falls with the triangle shape and window. I know thats just common architecture, but it's all I see!

Anyone else feels like her room is a recycled Gravity Falls background? The songs being written for this show feel like they had a lot of effort put into them.

Never heard of Molly McGee
I'm interested but not super optimistic. The premise doesn't grab me immediately and it sounds a little like Dude that's My Ghost which I only really remember as mediocre. Still my expectations have raised a little now that I know one of the directors worked on ducktales, even if only as a storyboard artist. I feel like I've already got a decent grasp on who these two main characters are so it's kind of up to the unrevealed supporting cast to make or break the show. The show seems to be pretty musical and seems like it will be more episodic than continuous so maybe it's going for a Phineas and Ferb vibe.
Is it just me, or does that attic bedroom look like the Gravity Falls bedroom. Like, is it a common style for attic rooms or somethihg?

I like the series, but I’m not so sure about Molly’s voice. It’s well executed.......but I feel I’ve heard loads of other female characters with the same voice.
Sounds wroth a look . I bet people will ship her and Lucy Loud just because of the ghost thing. Any way a ghost trained by a 2nd ghost sounds fun too. Maybe Ill take on that story.

My favorite character is Molly
I think we should not based characters on the past or a logo of some sort. To make sense, yeah you got it all wrong because the symbols doesn't mean anything. If there symbol on a name or a word, it just means that word or name will be based on that symbol, so for example of you see a word "Love" and there is a human character on one of the letters, it just means that this character will get loved and thats all, so if its called The Curse of Molly McGee with a ghost symbol on the word "Curse", it means we'll be seeing the curse going on the ghost instead of molly. Don't get confused with the symbol because it confuses you and it becomes very misunderstanding of the shows plot. Don't use symbol and put it as a word. The symbol is just there to represent what will happen to that Character that is in one of the letters which is ghost because the ghost will give curse on her, but it turns out it goes on him instead. I hope this makes sense. So please don't use symbols as a word because it can get very confusing.
