Who MADE the Dream SMP's Revive Book? In this Dream SMP theory, Animagician does an analysis of the Dream SMP lore and the lore of TommyInnit, JSchlatt, Wilbur Soot, Philza Minecraft and Dream! The video explains who made the JSchlatt book / revive book on the Dream SMP which led to the TommyInnit revival and Wilbur Soot's revival! Glatt and Ghostbur are also seen!

my head cannon is this:
Kristin (Phil's wife, who's been widely agreed to be the mistress of death) had the revival book first. Schlatt, very intoxicated, walked into the side of her house. Kristin sobered him up, and while Schlatt was in her house, he stole the revival book. then he gave the book to Dream.

Honestly, knowing Schlatt, I think he just found the book somewhere. Since it was in enderian, he couldn't understand it, so he tried to bribe Dream with it to join his side. Dream (who apparently knows enderian, based on how easily he can communicate with Ranboo's enderwalk side), understood the book's contents, and decided to join Schlatt's side without much hesitation. Both Schlatt and Dream thought the other was an idiot for this - Schlatt for giving away such an important item with no knowledge, and Dream for "falling for such an easy scam".

Dream partially controlled Ranboo, who is part enderman and speaks enderian so he could have picked it up
My theory was always that schlatt got the revive book by getting unbanned somehow he learned how to revive by getting unbanned.
That means tommyinnit seemingly has the revival book aswell… :/

I think Schlatt found the Revive book. Maybe an old ancient writer created the book and then Schlatt found it in some sort of ancient Burial ground. Because no one currently maybe besides Foolish(because he is some sort of ancient god according to what the egg said to him after he was canon killed for the first time.) or the egg, Could've created the Revive book. Unless Schlatt was a necromancer that people claimed him to be.
my head canon is that foolish (as long ago he was a totem of death) made the book after seeing the chaos he had caused. schlatt then found it somehow

I personally have had a theory for a while about jack making a deal with the devil for another life and will in return bring evil to the server

I think foolish made the revival book. He is a totem of undying after all and when first joining the smp he seemed really interested in meeting schlatt. Although this wasn’t really canon, he was asked who he would revive and he said schlatt. At the end of his CZcams video he hinted to his revival powers and with this new history with schlatt it would make sense that maybe foolish could’ve given schlatt the revival book. Another reason is that when quackity locked up technoblade, it didn’t really make sense since he needed the revival book of dream. Guess who works for big q in las Nevadas, foolish. Maybe quackity knows foolish still can get back his revival powers and foolish IS his new revival book.

I’m very curious about Dream’s unknown amount of canon lives. Why is it like that? Does it play a part in his motivations? Do other characters know about this? Because it doesn’t seem like they do; seeing as one of the reasons Tommy was so confident in his plan of sneaking into the prison to kill Dream was because he was under the impression Dream was on his last canon life. However, even if his plan had succeeded, it’s very likely Dream would’ve just came back as we have no clue how many lives he has.
Is he like Jack Manifold? Does he have to crawl his way back into the living everytime he dies?
My guess is that Will wrote that back when he had different plans for the lore and when dream and ranboo took over writing, they got rid of it. If dream still had more lives, he wouldn't have been so scared when Tommy killed him twice, in fact making everyone think he was dead would actually play to his favor, and he wouldn't be in prison

I’m pretty sure dying is still pretty painful, though. And keeping up an act of fear will certainly keep that whole lives thing a secret from everyone, which is something that could play into Dream’s favor one day.
Could also be that Dream himself also doesn’t know how many lives he has, living life never knowing what will be the thing that finally does him in. C!Dream seems to have a deep sated need to be in control, so not knowing what should just be a simple thing about himself seems like something that’ll terrify him, especially if he doesn’t know why it happened.
It was probably was dropped, though. Although there still seems to be some leeway to bring it back in a logical way.
This gives me a theory on what is written on the revive books. Basically it’s extreme details on how they specifically died that are recorded on books. When the books are burned you’re basically destroying the fact the person died. Kinda like killing death brings life or some junk like that.

I kinda thought that in the lore Foolish made the revival book… since he’s a totem god that has been around for centuries in the lore of the server
another important thing (not done watching so you might mention it) is that the revive book is KNOWLEDGE not from the physical book, being dream wrote a new one in prison to test on technoblade. Meaning that it could've easily not been stolen. Maybe from the circumstances of schlatt's unbanning he managed to overhear and remember what was written, or as you said, steal one of the potential huge amount of revive books that could be there

My theory is that Momza (or someone that the revival book belonged to may be the egg) is trying to kill Dream because he has the revival book, and to protect himself he locked himself in the prison, this theory connects your old theory about Dream that he staged the final disc war.
This theory works with the egg better because it cannot attack or control someone who is in the prison because of the obsidian and maybe this is why BadBoyhalo and Antfrost both who have been controlled by the egg have become the guards of the prison to "Kill Dream".
This theory just completely destroying the theory that Dream is controlling the egg or that sort of things

DreamXD is way more connected to the revival book tho, in technos last dsmp stream he and dream found out they can summon him with the revival book so it would make more sense for the book be connected with dreamXD rather than mumza
I think we should take everything in that stream with a grain of salt. It was clearly all improv, and I don't think anything in it should be taken with lore implications

I'm at 6:55 in the video, still not done yet, and so far I'm kind of liking where this theory is going but thought I'd add my thoughts in before I forget or see anything contradictory.
I think you could be right in that Mumza would be the one who Schlatt encountered once he was banned but that rather than stealing the book from her he watched her as she revived him or another being or perform some kind of ritual and used what he saw from her to write the revive book based on his own knowledge since 1. I don't think the goddess of death would really need to write down how to revive someone if she already knew and 2. I don't know how Schlatt could steal from her without being noticed and killed for it... for that second one you could argue that maybe that's why he died of a sudden heart attack but I don't think that's necessarily the case. Just my thoughts though.

I absolutely adore the idea that you have to sacrifice one of your own lives in order to revive someone else. Especially with recent lore, techno's aim to get the revive book and ranboo's canon death could make for some.. interesting circumstances

I think it would actually be really funny though if it was Schlatt who wrote the book, but more in the way a thousand monkeys at a thousand typewriters could write Shakespeare.
He was just messing around trying to see if he could figure out any magic spells, and with zero prior knowledge, by complete accident, he threw together a bunch of words he saw in an enchantment table together and created one of the most powerful magical artifacts possible.

Upon remembering the revival book being referred to prior to its reveal as "The Book of Dark Secrets," I always held this idea that the book wasn't always specific to revival but just dark special magic in general. Based on Techno's Prison Podcast stream, revival isn't some spell from a book but a specific set of instructions involving the burning of a minecraft book, which may affirm that theory. What else is in there?
As far as I know Schlatt, the dude has a weird habit of associating with magical people and getting access to magical objects. He's close friends with ConnorEatsPants, who canonically has magic of his own through magic, time travel, and attenpted necromancy. In the Tales episode The Haunted Mansion, he, even as a ghost, acquired a magical rod. Who says he didn't aquire the book the same way? Him making the book is just as plausible based on this information.
Though I lean towards it being stolen, because of Glatt telling Quackity that he has no idea what the book says because it was written in "moon runes." This really just makes us wonder how Dream managed to make the book useful at all in the first place.

The totem on foolish could be an indication to that he made the revive book. I means he's cannoncally a god, totems prevent or bring you back from momentary death and foolish seems like he would fit into the lore quite well as someone who knows more than he lets on

My theory (and kinda head canon) personally is that the stronghold library has a massive collection of books like that one, maybe some stuff on the enderwalk, something on Elytrians (I've just came to call Phil one because we know the wings were canon and origins had such a good name), maybe even some of the time travel journals that Karl and other Travelers have made

I was behind the theory that Mumza had given Phil the book, then Wilbur either asked for it or stole it from him, for then Fundy to find it within his stuff and take, for then Schlatt to steal from him. That made most sense to me as a list of giften/stolen succession, but this is a good theory too.

DreamXD made it. In a stream with Foolish, DreamXD said that he made two books a millennia ago. One was the revive book that was found, and there was another one that to this day has not been found.

me wondering who the fuck got in prision now
My theory is that DreamXD didn't like schlatt's actions (referring to how mean he was and suggest queen Elzabeth's death) and killed all his three lives and was sent to the realm of the dead where Momza resides and took pitty on schlatt for how unfair he was killed. So then Momza gave schlatt the revival book to revive himself (maybe for some reason she can't do it herself?) and tells schlatt the got to return it. Obviously he didn't but Momza would be hypocritical if she took all his lives in order to get the book. And so when jschlatt died, Momza sent Philza to collect the revival book from schlatt's corpse but didn't grt it because it was handed to dream.
just a tip, when using cipher by lemmino don't speak during the beat drop it makes it 100x more dramatic

Was thinking about this and it hit me that this theory also explains why unlike Wilbur and Mexican dream, there isn't a physical ghost of schlatt. There is glatt as a sort of voice, but his ghost hasn't really physically shown up ever, it could be because of him dying due to his life being in the revive book or whatever (I haven't rewatched the video it just hit me and I went back to it so I'm kind of relying on memory), causing schlatt to potentially be in some sort of state where his ghost can't fully manifest itself in the world of the living.
Actually now that I think about it why didn't Tommy come back as a ghost? Well, tbh, thinking more he probably did, but ghost Tommy was born in the prison because he died there. Because as shown by ghostbur, it seems the ghost needs to be killed with the book to revive someone. So there probably was a ghost Tommy, we just never saw him.
I think it's important that glatt/schlatt in the afterlife (I honestly don't know which one it is in the failed ghostbur revival) has shown himself multiple times. And the specific ghostbur failed revival one, I feel it is somewhat important that only schlatt/glatt appears.
As an extension of this, there is a chance schlatt CAN'T be revived, because there isn't an actual ghost schlatt to use for revival

Also just watched Foolish’s last VOD : “Maybe last day of statue building..?” And around 02:17:55 DreamXD shows up and a little later he tells Foolish a secret. He tells that he has 2 books that have “godly powers”. One of them was found ( I guess the revival book) and he dropped the other one a millennium ago en he still hasn’t found it. ( apparently a kinda of deathnote book…?)
So he didn’t really say if he made it or not. But since it has “godly powers” and DreamXD is the only canon god on the server, I’m guessing he made it.

When you said that Dream adds a life to the book, i imagine it like daltarune where dream would rip out one of his lives like kris does to their soul, and then dream would just stick it into the book, close it and be on with his day like nothing happened.

Mumza probably is both goddess of life and death (or maybe just life in general) cause it doesn't make sense that Mumza can make trees grow when she's a goddess of death.
