- This video explains how to create simple red dot effects for weapon sights using the Bump Offset Node, as well as talking about intermediate/advanced material functions like Texture Channel Packing and Distortion Effects.
- Hry
Sad to see this was your only tutorial as it was really well done. Thanks for the help!
I was thinking of making more but I've been re-assigned work stuff and have been super busy!
There are a lot of strange comments with complains, but I just want to thank you. It's exactly what I was searching. Tbh, I completely forgot that real holographic sights have this kind of noise, so this tut showed even more than I expect. Thank you)
Genius!
So fucking underrated, keep it up 🔥
Good stuff
thx a lot
BEST TUTORIAL EVER 👁️👃👁️🙏
Btw how do you ALIGN the Holosight to where the gun will fire at? 🙏
Adjusting your camera angles creat a socket on the gun and call an is valid check if you have that weapon equipped then snap the camera to that socket
@@Jhtoastygames Noice Thx Dude 👁️👃👁️🙏
Is there a way to ad a little sway? If we move weapon leftr and right we see trail of emmisive material and that look bad. adding a little sway can help.
Disable Temporal AA
Unfortunately, Can't really follow this tutorial without you being more specific about what nodes you are using. If you search parameter you get 30 results for nodes. Vector 3 gives you 7. Can't tell which nodes to use. Converted my reticle texture to a parameter but it doesn't appear on the preview, the solid color fills the whole material, even with the proper mask settings.
A parameter is not a node. A node becomes a parameter when you select it and convert it to take parameters as an input value (such as an image for a Texture).
Vector 3 is the node for making RGB colors. If you wanted RGBA, you use a vector 4.
If you're not familiar with the basics of node based shaders, you should look at the documentation on Epic's website or follow a beginner tutorial. This is not a beginner tutorial and I'm not here to hold your hand and explain what a Vector 3 node is.
how would i get the rainbow clouds texture i dont have photoshop
Make one in Gimp
@@bulletmunchr Do you know any tutorial on how to do do. I'm a complete noob with gimp
anyone else has the problem that if you look around with this Reticle, the reticle behaves weird?
That would most likely be temporal anti-aliasing. You can disable it in Project/Engine Settings.
Yep, i do, disabling TAA didnt work
@@FGMatej Incase you still need a solution for this, I found it in the material settings of the reticle, change Translucency Pass to "After Motion Blur"
@@TimeTravelersTalesAInope it wasnt that, the texture just needed all pixels to be transparent on each side to work propertly
Bad video quality.😒 The text is not readable. Reupload.😪
If you change video quality to 720p I think you could see it
