This was nice. Really wish they could have featured all 5 starters. Brea and Victoria have been just as important (if not more) as the guards on this Defensive minded team that usually dominates the boards. They deserved some spotlight as well.

So was I. I’m so happy for the Juniors and Seniors as the cancellation of the season due to Covid was so wrenching. Now I am just as excited that we can continue to build and become a part of Mount Rushmore of woman’s basketball.
If Coach Dawn isn't the highest paid Coach at the University of South Carolina then that problem must be immediately corrected. Aliyah Boston's' play speaks for itself, she doesn't need a nickname.....just the mention of her name strikes fear and causes sleepless night for both opposing coaches and players, trying to figure out a way to defend her. She will not only go down in history as one of the Best ever at SC but in NCAA womens basketball. She will be in the same conversation and held in the highest respect as players like Silvia Fowles ( who's SEC double-Double record Boston broke and continues to add to the streak) , Lisa Leslie, Chamique Holdsclaw, Candace Parker, Tamekia Catchings, Rebecca Lobo and Courtney Paris, who's double=double record Boston has a shot to break.

Ms Boston is MVP of the year hands down. Ms. Henderson great guard. A humble player. We must also give Ms. Saxon and Ms Brea their props. They are underrated and both have played great to bringing this team where they are now. They need to be in this photo shoot. Ms Cooke may be competitive but no shade Ms Cooke is cold/hot player and makes poor chooses as far as shooting.

What is the deal with B. Beal not being featured as a starter?They also rarely show her in the games during the telecasts .
Because offense has mass appeal and is viewed as more tangible. Many of the things she does, along with V. Saxton doesn’t show up on a stat sheet in the same way. That’s just how we digest sports in this country. Same reasons it’s rare for the Heisman to go to a Charles Woodson or other defensive player

Let say besides those three ladies who earn every bit of the accolades and possibly not enough Brea Beal and Victoria Saxton always get lift out, those two are forgotten players that 1) are starters 2) just as if not more important to the three mentioned always. But let’s not forget all the players from state of South Carolina that went to become lady gamecocks besides A’ja Wilson but too many to list here and all the transfers as well, all an important clog in their lady basketball machine, Talaysia Cooper and Ashlyn Watkins this year, Malaysia Fulwiley next year with Joyce Edwards all 5 star recruits from Columbia area and finally their coach Dawn Staley build a coaching staff. @@choncyterry5374 - They sure did...as they should have. Now all the media talk has been backed up and validated as only winning it all can do. The trick now is to enjoy this, yet return next year and do it again...all the pieces will be in place to do so. Staley's program now has the opportunity to replace UCONN as the game's new standard. The SC program will need to consistently win more to place itself up there with the titles of Stanford, Tennessee, and UCONN, and it is poised to do so if it keeps pushing...that consistent standard of winning should be the motivation. It won't be easy, but hopefully over the next decade they can pull it off.
