  • On today's video, I show you how I made a simple small game carrier rig to hold your harvest while keeping your hands free to keep yourself safely on the weapon. Materials used were just one carabiner and 550 cord. Feel free to use whatever you want, the idea of this video is to just give yall inspiration to make your own.

    Happy Marine Birthday Day...Ya know, if you miss those squirrels, those cords will also hold beer bottles for some target practice...😃 necessity is the mother of all inventions. RIP Abigail.. Anthony,Sorry for your loss.

      Thank you! Them squirrels can get sneaky sometimes. Calls never seem to work for them, you gotta bang on the trees to get them to move every now and again.

    Or a coat hanger, or a shower curtain hook, or a large diaper pin, or a Wal mart bag or a green limb run thru the hind foot like we always done.

      @@PalmettoPrepared we have a gazillion squirrels on our 8 acres here in Leesville. I'm not hunting them so that they'll be there if I'm ever in a situation where I have to. I plan on hunting on a buddies land. Kill his squirrels. Lol

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  Před 2 lety +1

      Lol, you do that then all your squirrels will run over there because the grass is always greener

    Very good idea. I know we have bird limits but I don't think we have limits on squirrels or rabbits. I will need to look.

      do you snare or do you shoot your squirrels and rabbits?

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  Před 2 lety +2

      @@glen1arthur I appreciate that.
      For me, I prefer to snare rabbits and shoot squirrel. Years ago, you could easily shoot rabbit but they are much harder to find now thanks to the coyotes

    • @glen1arthur

      @@PalmettoPrepared Snaring squirrels is very easy find an active area then place a pole with snares running up it 6-8 inches apart and they love running up new poles and they will follow each other. 5+ is an easy catch. Just re-listen to Steve's Monday coffee. I was getting a lot of calls during it from family and I never ignore those calls.
      Take Care~eh

    I really like this. Sadly I live in California and because of the people I run into hunting I put my game in my backpack. It really helps when I run into non hunters and keeping the tradition alive. I can talk to them about the sport before they see me as " a mean killer".
    I do prefer your method because the fleas can just jump off instead of being in my backpack and coming home with me.

    • @PalmettoPrepared
      @PalmettoPrepared  Před rokem +1

      Oh yes the fleas are the main reason I don't like the vests. Ever since I started doing this, I haven't had to worry about fleas or ticks crawling in my gear
