The Aolong is a semi-stable cube, and the magnets are added to create stability. I don't think the Aolong NEEDS the magnets, but it can get it if wanted.
This review made me feel so much better. I've bought my valk 3 weeks ago and it shipped out today. I've taken a blind shot on the cube and hoped that it would feel good. Now that i have seen this video, I can't wait until a receive my valk in a few days.
This was my first video ever that I saw related to cubing and then I learnt solving cubes it's been a year and now that I am watching this video it seems that I have improved a lot from 40sec to 13sec I guess it was drastic. But all thx to this review thx JR

I orderded mine on the 9th November and it's just been dispatched today (1st December), can't wait
its actually realy easy, i made a magnetic valk, all u need to do is put two magnets on one half edge piece thing and one third of the corner, super glue and leave the edge or corner, finish up the rest of the edges and corners by just putting a magnet in the piece and have the bond make it so it is in the proper place. i was scared before like u, but it is really easy.

I am fairly new to cubing and have a question: if I were to buy one lube to lube a variety of cubes what should it be?
What was the name of the lube you used? I'm curious because it seemed to have improved your times quite well.
I loved my Valk M, until I was turning it and suddenly it became oddly sandy an really slow and I don't enjoy solving on it anymore. Do you think's it's the hardware, the core, or one of the pieces I need to replace? Also, I've cleaned out the cube but it didn't work.

I haven't tried any magnetic 3x3's but I've tried the X- MAN Pyraminx M. Does it have the same feeling like the X man or MoYu?
Turtle Cubing the xman has a very noticeable click, in fact it's like a weaker ball bearing. Ball bearings are probably the closest feeling to a magnetic 3x3, except without the clicking into place
