The difference on polymer tip and soft point is that polymer has way better penatration but soft point has better expansion which means it will bleed more .

I’m a big waterfowl hunter. To answer your question, yes waterfowl do this. In the Midwest, we have mainly snow geese, canada geese, mallard ducks, wood and teal. There is much more round here, too, these are just the main species. Some days on the water or in a field, you will see all these birds landing together. They pretty much just try to gang up together, because there is safety against predators in numbers.
In my opinion the soft point is a lot better than the polymer tip just for the fact that I mainly go for lungs and there isn't much stopping it so I don't have to shoot through bone and I drop them almost instantly. Now you can make a risky shot with polymer, like through the shoulder blade ECT.
Why?
@@quinngeenty4502 it actually is better for hunting/self defense, as soft points tend to expand more than polymer tips. That expansion rips up even more flesh, and allows more energy to be dumped into the target, rather than how a polymer tip could go through.
Making it a far more lethal round, to soft and squishy targets. But the polymer tip is useful if you need a lotta penetration.
IRL soft points are better, but in call of the wild polymer are better.

Hey Kendall, I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I live in Indiana about an hour away from Kentucky as well and your videos are the highlight of my day. Oh, and also another really cool thing was that when you went on vacation to Florida, that is where I went too!!! If I can remember correctly, there is an amusement park across the road and an ice cream shop down the street. There should be a Bass Pro somewhere in the area as well. You’re Red Dead Redemption videos got me through the long drive😀😀 I’ve been hunting and fishing for all of my life and watching your videos have gotten me through some bad times. The .243 with soft points are perfectly fine for coyotes and lower but with polymer tips your good up to elk id say, not my gun of choice for elk but it works with a good shot!
