The Satechi Stand & Hub for Mac mini with SSD Enclosure elevates and transforms your M1 Mac Mini into a powerful, surprisingly compact workstation. It allows your Mini to fit seamlessly into the enclosure, securely to keep it from sliding off or moving around when removing chords or drives from the ports. SATA SSD support, though not NVMe, still does a fairly good job in its transfer speeds and will allow you to do most of what you need on your day to day activities.

Would connecting the Satechi to the M2 be a drag on the performance in SSD transfer or any other speeds?

The only thing I wish Satechi had done contrary to their design is that cuts down on air flow through the Mac Mini. The second thing like other creative mac dock makers, Satechi should have made their dock to not only hold the SSD card even though it goes against NvMe standard, they should have also put in a SATA HDD/SDD port area to add flexibility to the overall storage solution, like the Qwiizlab Dual Drive Enclosure with Docking Station for Mac Mini which has its ventilation flaws to be fair.
Satechi is a good brand and I’ve purchased quite a few things for them so the brand itself is great. Just needed a bit more design and engineering consideration. I’d be interested to hear though if this hub has the same issue as some have had where the SSD ejects and has to be re-mounted during normal ops. That would be a real tail kicker problem for anyone.
Thanks for the review. Still considering. They also need a space gray shell.

To get speeds faster than this, the USB-C port would need to be Thunderbolt 3. Sadly, this is just a USB Type C hardware interface, no Thunderbolt. Also only USB 3, whereas the Mac Mini actually supports much faster USB 4. I'd like to see how a true Thunderbolt dock with an SSD would work.

I'm wondering how would you manage to have two monitors connected, the hub, and the audio interface all at once.
I'm thinking about having a setup like yours with a Mac Mini M2, which only comes with 2 Thunderbolt ports, and I need one of them to connect the hub.
One idea I have is to connect one monitor via HDMI and another via Thunderbolt. Then, I would need the second Thunderbolt connection for the hub, which would leave me with no available ports for the apollo twin.

I had a maddening problem with this hub. I installed a Western Digital Blue 1TB SSD in the hub. The SSD kept constantly and independently dismounting and then cycling back on. Each time an error message stating that the drive had not been properly ejected. It happened hundreds of times per day. I read everything that I could find about the problem. It seems that it is rather common. It reportedly happens with all kinds of drives. But, no one identified a reliable cure. I spent hours on the phone with Apple Support trying all kinds of procedures without success. I then contacted Satechi support. It replied stating that it was a problem known to them and that their technicians were working on a solution which requires return of the hub to Satechi for the fix. So, my hub is on the way to Satechi for repair. At the moment all I can do is to keep my fingers crossed.

It seems that some people wear caps to hide a bald head, or just to look different.
What I have never understood is why caps are worn , back to front. I suppose that would be useful to keep the sun out of one's eyes; but there is not much sun in most rooms. The back of these caps , with the adjusting straps look awful. So: why not just give your hair quick brush. I you must wear a hat, try something like Frank Sinatra wore.

"Price Point" is Redundant. Just use Price. The word point adds nothing to the sentence.

😂 ... Reminds me of Carlin's bit about trendy language ... At least he didn't insert terms like 'proactive', 'health and wellness' or 'It really hit me in the feels.'

I want to ask, when I connect it, does the memory become primary and everything is recorded on it?
