I always glean something useful from your videos. I gave up on Designmate and went back to creative studio. I hate that t you have a lack of batching uploads in designmate. I also hate that print mate does not work in Edge from within designmate. Chrome works fine. I was wishing for the 40oz and all the rest that they don’t seem to include even after a year of development. I know not so politically correct to say. I am going to try again thanks to you. I am on the paid version. You should mention those of us trying to make the leap that you write down which project is in which design program. Also selling is not allowed in Canada. They say it may be coming but never happened in Creative. Thanks again. This is a much watch and I am now going to look at your site. I believe you are worth following.
I did a chat with Sawgrass and set up a time for them to get on my laptop as my web browser wasn't allowing me to print...it was blocking Sawgrass. He changed a setting for me, and now It works. Maybe they can fix this for you?😊

You can use this program to do that. I just print a square or circle that will cover the entire earring. You do no have to shape the print exactly like your blank.
I'm having a whole heap of issues with Print Mate working with Cricut's Design Studio. Not used Design Mate. I've given up and switched back to Print Manager.
When I got my SG 500 a week ago, I didn't know about PrintMate, and it took me 5 hours to find and install Print Manager to get my first print. After watching the video today, I installed PrintMate, Went into Design Mate, created a design, and tried to print to Print Mate. I was signed into both. Unfortunately, it kept wanting me to re-download Print Mate to my Mac Book. After an hour, I gave up. I'll keep designing in Canva and printing with Print Manager for now. I like the things Design Mate will do, but I don't have time to make all the software play nice with Apple! Print Manager is slow and clunky and I haven't found a way to make it print two pages of the same design at the same time. I love that Print Mate will do that, and would love to be able to design and print without the extra step of downloading to my Mac Book. Maybe one day I'll get the time to figure it out.
To print 2 pages of the same design...When Print Manager page comes up, click on the tab that says Jobs. When that page comes up there is a button below where you can choose how many prints you want click on the + button. Hope that helps.
This might be a silly question but did the images from creative studio come over to design mate? I know if you designed anything in creative studio, I don’t believe it can be saved to design studio (or can it?). I have premium subscription with creative studio and pondering cancelling that one for design studio.
Hello, good afternoon. I have a question. When do I send print after using the new version of the designmate program? When I print it? It doesn't have the good size. It's smaller than normal and ABC. Yes, I create the design with Canva. For example, when I send print, you eat a part of the design at the bottom. Anyway, I've wasted a lot of ink and paper. I can't get it out of the good size. I still prefer the old program with which I didn't have those problems. If you could help me with that. I don't know what to do when you remove the old program
Sawgrass decided to remove the old program and I am not sure why. I have not found a way to remove the margins and upload a full design successfully in printmate to get the right size.
I use Creative Studio. Anticipating the end of Creative Studio, I did a test where I uploaded the same project to Creative Studio and PrintMate. The Creative Studio paper print and sublimation transfer was bright and had vivid colors as I'm used to. The Printmate paper print and sublimation transfer was dark and did not look as good. I used similar setting on both, I'm not sure what is wrong?
Thanks Angie - If I have small objects can I not move them manually to be more spread out around the top and the bottom of a design. Only seems to give one option for spacing.
Thanks for the video. I currently use affinity designer and send designs to SPM no problem. I have downloaded print mate (only) today and I can see print mate in designer affinity however do I have to somehow connect my sawgrass printer to print mate? and if i do that will SPM still be connected as well. I need help how do I get the new design papermate make the image larger? I want to piece together the image put it keeps saying won't fit to image on printer.
Maybe try designing in another program and just using print mate to print. You will have to account for margins with this printer as it will not print to the edge.
Great tutorial! Have you found a way to have designs come over to PrintMate at the same size as designed in DesignMate. In Print Manager we have a “preserve layout from designer” checkbox, which I always use. I’m not able to find something similar in PrintMate. In DesignMate, I set a custom canvas to 13x19, design, print, have my page size set to 13x19 in PrintMate, but my designs are not sized right when I hit fit to page or any other option. Thanks!

Hi I'm a newbie to the software I'm currently using cricut but when I send to print and choose printmate it sends and will print but doest show the design on the right side so unable to edit as i cannot see image it just turns white? If I drag it into printmate it shows the image very confused. I've also just subscribed to design mate too.

Angie, I have a question... Just got my sawgrass printer. I use silhouette studio. Everytime I try to send my design to printmate it's giving me a blue background around my image. Any suggestions or help as to how to fix this? Sawgrass support hasn't been much help!
I just bought sg500today and downloaded the print mate and created an account for both print mate and sawgrass. When I try to create something in creative studio and print it says to make sure I’ve downloaded the most updated version of print manager(I’ve downloaded print mate) and to make sure I’m signed in with same account. I thought I was I don’t know how to fix this
I have had my Sawgrass 500 a couple of weeks ago. I have an issue 95% of the time when I send the image from Design Mate to Print Mate I end up with an error Image Not Linked. Once in a great while, the image transfers correctly and I can never figure out what I did different to get it to show up in Print Mate. I have used both jpg and png. I will get the above error and then finally using the same image it will show up in Print Mate where I can then print it. Any help?

Hi Angie, I have the Cricut explore air 2, and I tried to cut chipboard I got from Michael’s it’s 2/25mm thick, it cut most of the way through but I had to go in with an xacto knife to finish it. Should I have used the knife blade instead of the deep cut blade and which setting is best to cut it on? Thanks for your help😃
Unfortunately 40 seconds in you say we can still use creative studio and print manager however! on the 1st feb 2025 they will stop working and you have to change.. so change asap to get used to it. some bits of the new software are great but some bits are terrible.. i mean where is the 3d rotating preview. and cant print from the likes of silhouette studio. going to be a fun 8/9 months
Do you have to change all the print settings each time? or does it keep it them? I am just learning the other programs so not sure if I want to change. lol
Hi Angie , I have two problems each time I download printmate it would disappear the next day because i turned my laptop off. Also when I am in design mate and I do a custom design I would set the measurements but where do I go next to get my design that I have uploaded please help
If you installed printmate, it is on your computer. Try using the search bar at the bottom to look for it. You can go to settings to start it each time your computer starts. If you uploaded a design, go to uploads and look for it there.

My print mate locked up on me and after it shut down I can't get it to pull back up. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing. What do I do? Help.....this is my first printer

When I designed for a 20oz tapered wine tumbler I had the design fitting inside the shaped template, but when I sent it ti PrintMate it appears straight. So before I print it, how do I know it will go around my tumbler with the words level. TIA, Mary

How do you get to the new software? I got into my sawgrass account and it did not give the option to use designmate. Can you only access with subscription?
How do you print from Silhouette Studio with Print Mate? I just sent a file to Print Mate from SS and it started printing instead of allowing me to make any changes in Print Mate.
I had the paid Creative Studio subscription and there was a message saying they combined the two, so I'm supposed to have the Designmate+ subscription as well, but I'm not seeing a ton of designs or backgrounds available. Is there a trick to get everything to load properly? Specifically, the print you did for this video with the oranges - I love it, but I can't find it! Thanks!
They are slowly loading everything so I notice more every time I use it. I do think the search still needs work. Try looking in the food category for this one!
non of your videos show the design on the screen and later already made sublimated product from sawgrass in comparison to the screen you see. You said that you have but you don't. Maybe making one video would show people true colours of sawgrass

This was happening to me. I set up a time with Sawgrass after chatting online and my browser setting was blocking them...they changed some settings to get it to work. 😊
I can't believe this stupid change SG did! Print Mate is the worst. I always use 19x13 in Silhouette design. Print Mate has no option for 19x13, so I did custom. It gave me a good preview only to print incorrectly. I had to get a tech into my computer to see why. Then they said I needed to select A3 paper for 19x13. What! That night it started printing my images in all the wrong sizes. I complained again, and then they said to use A3+ paper! Why can't they just have the paper 19x13?! I wasted paper, ink, time, and money!
Wow - I am super disappointed with my purchase so far. I bought the SG500 in January, but am just now setting it up. I am very techy, and I'm having so many issues! I can only imagine what those who struggle with tech are experiencing. So far, I have it connected via Wifi to my Mac, but I am not able to use DesignMate at all without paying for it. That's a huge disappointment! Why sell you an expensive printer then limit the software - feels really unethical so far. I do have my appointment with the setup tech this afternoon and I hope that this issue is just me not understanding something. Otherwise, what did I pay for??? Printmate is horrible (so far), I can't get anything to work with Designmate. I can create an image, but it won't let me print anything but a proof - it says that I have to purchase the subscription to save or print the design. Really???? Again, I hope I'm wrong and just missing something. Definitely not happy with this $1000+ outlay so far (printer, ink, and paper). 😞 All of the videos and tutorials should be updated by Sawgrass for the new process!
@@AngieHolden Thanks! I figured that part out. It just seemed all the designs I was looking at are only in the paid version. I did the setup Zoom onboarding call with Sawgrass, but it was not what I was expecting. He basically went over their website and did an intro into the software and storefront. Didn't even touch on system setup. I have finally got it figured out and I can print! I set my account up, but am not in love with DesignMate at this time. I can seriously see why people get frustrated. I'm a seasoned techy person that crafts a lot, so for a novice this must be overwhelming. Keep the videos coming! You (and your fellow youtubers) are wonderful and provide so much help!
They are getting rid of Creative Studio and Print Manager in February....so, THANK YOU for your video! It has helped a lot with the upcoming changes!

Be sure you are logged in to sawgrass when printing. It should skip that page and print.

I am a new Sawgrass user and I cannot find Print Manager. PrintMate is so flakey. I am regretting purchasing due to both PrintMate and DesignMate.
I can usually google "sawgrass print manager" and find an old link in the results that will allow me to access it.

Sounds like you have a pop up blocker installed not allowing print mate to open.
To print 2 pages of the same design...When Print Manager page comes up, click on the tab that says Jobs. When that page comes up there is a button below where you can choose how many prints you want click on the + button. Hope that helps.

I would probably design on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet and move them around there and then go to print.

You can use both at the same time right now. I would start using print mate as they are discontinuing SPM soon.

I’m getting sawgrass sg500 today and I was wondering if I can still use canva because I feel like the sawgrass and print mate too much for me.
You can use Canva but you will have to use print mate to send it to the printer.
I have noticed that when I print with PrintMate the color is different than Print Manager. Print Manager is closer to my design. Any suggestions?

Yea I was having issues with print mate moving them. There was some updates but I still didn't find a way to make it happen all of the time.

Might be your internet connection? When you go from Design Mate to Print Mate it is downloading the design and then displaying it for you.
My designs aren't getting sent over to Print mate when I click the button. It's so frustrating

Unfortunately they are changing to this program completely. Not sure about changing layout? But for size, it should keep your size overall.

You do have to start all over as they do not transfer.

You can update the firmware on the printer itself. Probably on the front screen of the printer.

I have seen this error. I would contact Sawgrass and let them walk you through it on your computer.

When printing to a sawgrass you will always go through PrintMate so just mirror in there.
When I send to printmate, the wheel just spins . Not sure what to check. I ran an update. Closed . Reopened. No improvement.
Try restarting your computer.

I literally have not idea unless you save it at the end to your store but don't add for sale. Then I think you can edit.

The explore air 2 doesn’t have a knife blade. About 1 to 1.5 mm chipboard is going to be the thickest you can cut with that machine.

At the time I made this video that was true. Sawgrass has since made a new announcement.
How to take back grounds out of photos using print mate or print design
It is seriously not great at that as I tried for something I was working on. I ended up removing the background in something else.

Print mate is for printing. Design mate would be for doing any design work.

You can set defaults to be the same each time.

If you installed printmate, it is on your computer. Try using the search bar at the bottom to look for it. You can go to settings to start it each time your computer starts. If you uploaded a design, go to uploads and look for it there.

With sublimation, you don't have to cut anything. You can just print and press.

No. The designs do not transfer.

If you have a seamless design that’s 6” x 6” can you resize it to make it 8 1/2” x 11”. I’m new to the sawgrass software.
You can resize but it would not be seamless any longer.
I'm fairly new to the subli world and like most people, started out with a epson. Is this design program able to be used with other printers? I'm sorry if that is a dumb question.

My print mate locked up on me and after it shut down I can't get it to pull back up. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing. What do I do? Help.....this is my first printer
I would uninstall the software and the printer then start over again.
@@AngieHolden I have tried that and it still isn't working. I have it on the desktop but now it is doing the exact same thing. I tried uploading a picture and it locked it up. Now I have a blank screen.

You can use Design Mate but you can't print with Print Mate unless you have a Sawgrass printer.

Make sure you don't have a pop up blocker or that you turn it off. That was my issue at first!
Hi Angie, I am so enjoying your tutorials. I have one question. When I designed for a 20oz tapered wine tumbler I had the design fitting inside the shaped template, but when I sent it ti PrintMate it appears straight. So before I print it, how do I know it will go around my tumbler with the words level. TIA, Mary
I really can't picture what you are making. I would probably print it and wrap it around and see if I think it will look right before sublimating.

I am not sure if design mate curves the designs. You may have to use another program to do that.
I like the Exchange but I don't have all of my artwork that I have in Creative Studio so I'm stuck using Creative Studio.

How do you get to the new software? I got into my sawgrass account and it did not give the option to use designmate. Can you only access with subscription?

After i create in Design Mate my designs stopped going to print mate. Nothing happens when i click open in print mate.
Try rebooting everything first. Then uninstall and reinstall the software.

How do you print from Silhouette Studio with Print Mate? I just sent a file to Print Mate from SS and it started printing instead of allowing me to make any changes in Print Mate.
Change your settings to open PrintMate first.

I had the paid Creative Studio subscription and there was a message saying they combined the two, so I'm supposed to have the Designmate+ subscription as well, but I'm not seeing a ton of designs or backgrounds available. Is there a trick to get everything to load properly? Specifically, the print you did for this video with the oranges - I love it, but I can't find it! Thanks!
They are slowly loading everything so I notice more every time I use it. I do think the search still needs work. Try looking in the food category for this one!

non of your videos show the design on the screen and later already made sublimated product from sawgrass in comparison to the screen you see. You said that you have but you don't. Maybe making one video would show people true colours of sawgrass
I am happy with colors from my Sawgrass printer and you can find videos on my channel that do just as you are mentioning.

This was happening to me. I set up a time with Sawgrass after chatting online and my browser setting was blocking them...they changed some settings to get it to work. 😊

I can't believe this stupid change SG did! Print Mate is the worst. I always use 19x13 in Silhouette design. Print Mate has no option for 19x13, so I did custom. It gave me a good preview only to print incorrectly. I had to get a tech into my computer to see why. Then they said I needed to select A3 paper for 19x13. What! That night it started printing my images in all the wrong sizes. I complained again, and then they said to use A3+ paper! Why can't they just have the paper 19x13?! I wasted paper, ink, time, and money!

You can add more copies in PrintMate or do a custom canvas in DesignMate and lay them out.
When I tried to print in printmate the print had lines!
Try running a nozzle check. You may need to do some printer maintenance.
My print mate isnt connecting
Wow - I am super disappointed with my purchase so far. I bought the SG500 in January, but am just now setting it up. I am very techy, and I'm having so many issues! I can only imagine what those who struggle with tech are experiencing. So far, I have it connected via Wifi to my Mac, but I am not able to use DesignMate at all without paying for it. That's a huge disappointment! Why sell you an expensive printer then limit the software - feels really unethical so far.
I do have my appointment with the setup tech this afternoon and I hope that this issue is just me not understanding something. Otherwise, what did I pay for??? Printmate is horrible (so far), I can't get anything to work with Designmate. I can create an image, but it won't let me print anything but a proof - it says that I have to purchase the subscription to save or print the design. Really???? Again, I hope I'm wrong and just missing something. Definitely not happy with this $1000+ outlay so far (printer, ink, and paper). 😞

You do NOT have to pay for design mate. It may be asking you if you want a subscription but just say no.
@@AngieHolden Thanks! I figured that part out. It just seemed all the designs I was looking at are only in the paid version. I did the setup Zoom onboarding call with Sawgrass, but it was not what I was expecting. He basically went over their website and did an intro into the software and storefront. Didn't even touch on system setup.
I have finally got it figured out and I can print! I set my account up, but am not in love with DesignMate at this time. I can seriously see why people get frustrated. I'm a seasoned techy person that crafts a lot, so for a novice this must be overwhelming.
