- How to entertain toddler while you are cooking without screen? I'm sharing 5 SENSORY activities for 1-2 year olds you can do without any hassle!
If you are tearing your hair out trying to figure out ways to keep your little one occupied while you do whatever kitchen tasks that need to be done. Don't worry, I got you. These 5 super simple and easy activities have been tested and proven to be working in our home so I really hope it helps you to get some work done in the kitchen as well.
As a montessori parent, i try my best to involove my daughter in whatever I am doing in the kitchen, if she is interested. Otherwise, I let her entertain herself while I am cooking. Of course without screens! However, sometimes nothing works and she just wants my attention and it gets really stressful to both of us.
Since we got a learning tower, it definitely became a game changer and it allows her to either participate in meal prepping or just play on the kitchen bench next to me. Sometimes young children just want to be close to you. So here are 5 activities you can set up within 3 mintues that will keep your toddler's attention long enough for you to make dinner happen!
#1 Open and close containers
#2 Kitchen object matching activity
#3 Water transfer activity
#4 Cotton ball painting
#5 Ice cube activity

Loved these ideas! I often need distractions for my toddler as he loves being involved with cooking but it's not always safe for him to do so. These will be great to try out next meal time prep!

Hi! The learning tower is from Kmart and the apron is from Korea. if you search for "cotton linen apron" on Amazon, there are lots of designs available you can choose from!

My boy can play by himself with anything during my cooking, so I never have the motivation to create any activities for him😂😂😂😂
