National Correctional Officers Week 2024

During this year’s National Correctional Officers Week we want recognize and honor all our staff who work at the Adult Detention Division. Working in this environment is often very challenging but rewarding at the same time. These hard working individuals work around the clock each day to keep our community safe.
“Being a detention deputy is very difficult job,” said Sheriff Witt, who started her career as a detention deputy in 2000. “Truly heroes behind the walls."
The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office employees more than 330 individuals that are assigned at our Adult Detention Division. We are proud of the role they play in the Hennepin County community and hope members of the public can join us in sharing thanks for their significant work.
