You go for sword power 5 +10 attack on a brave weapon even more so with lunar brace is insane
Also silver daggers are one of the best investment weapons as it gets 2 might per upgrade and it also lowers in weight on a low weight weapon if you did a crit buff like Camilla's engrave and chrom's skill brute force she will be a monster crit off of the fog
Mage Yunaka is also super underrated.
Give her Thunder Tomes for extra Zappyness.
She does have some truly good magic growth, I like this thunder mage Yunaka idea!
you should give rosado sword power!! it'll just make him hit harder and for brave weapon it gives extra "true damage" on each hit which is insane. rosado (and griss) are my favorite boys from the new game, thank you for giving him love! ❤
Yeah, I'm definitely thinking sword power is the play here. And of course, Rosado is great and I'm happy to have him on the team. 😁
If you want to make a yunaka crit build, Peshkatz is a solid investment or lyn/corrin/camilla engrave silver dagger. Since her damage output might be lack luster, Brute Force will help amp up her crits.
Yeah, I feel like I haven't given the range 1 knives enough consideration. I like the range of the other knives too much! Thanks for the suggestion. 😁
I find characters that are more tanky then evasive works better with the crit daggers. Wrath and Resolve are a good combo for that

I was there in stream when you came up with the idea for Rosado Swordmaster. Wootwoot. Not sure if my suggestion helped or not, but glad to see it come to life. Suggestion for the 2nd second skill (are you playing with DLC? If so Str/Dex from Eldegarde for more hit/crit and damage in general) or sword power for the raw damage. Only other suggestion would to give him a levin sword for ranged attacks without the need of engaging.
I remember blood ronin, I appreciate the suggestions, then and now. 😁 I'm Def thinking sword power, it's just so strong. The Levin Sword is also an obvious choice that a few people have pointed out, and I'm surprised I didn't think of it myself.
Interesting builds! Sword Power would probably be great on Rosado like you said :) All of Eirika’s engage weapons are swords, so they’d all benefit too. I’d maybe also throw a Levin Sword on him for 1-2 range when not engaged. It wouldn’t benefit from Lunar Brace, but you can swap to Solar Brace (and Bravery) when it’s attached which will work.
For Yunaka, have you considered Chrom as an emblem? With the new DLC units with the Dragon tag, you could move Corrin over to one of those to support her instead
I've only played up to hard but funny enough I also have a dragon unit following Yunaka to support her but I gave her Camilla. So any units in front of her get a minus to avo/def so it helps her low strength to be able to hurt them.
For sure, having say Nil with Corrin, then Chrom Yunaka for brute force sneak attack shenanigans, would be VERY cool.

Funny enough, swordmaster Rosado and Halberdier Zelkov were my choices for my first playthrough as well lol
Some stuff people sleep on Yunaka&Corrin is giving her a forget range 1 knife as well with a crit engraving. Trained to kill will stack with all that stuff and let Yunaka kill much more easily on enemy phase if her crit is like 60%+ if all or most enemies in range are melee.
Also Dreadful Aura does -20 Avo on enemies when used by Covert units and thats neat
I have already gone on a little bit of a rant on my feelings about thief+corrin combo. but it certainly has it's pros. I can't deny that it is serviceable and it's popular for a reason. I think It's an incredibly selfish build for yunaka or zelkov, and robs your team of very valuable corrin support... BUT it's a selfish build that does get results.
That being said, it brings to mind a wacky off-the wall build I may try in my own maddening run soon. I may try a Yunaka build using Sniper+Micaiah and... wrath. possibly with surprise attack from chrom as the second skill, though i dont think it will be needed. with another dragon unit(like alear) using smoke.
The sniper class skill grants +10 crit when the foe cannot counter. from smoke with 2-3 range, most enemies shouldnt be able to counter. with yunaka's personal thats a flat +25 crit. surprise attack in smoke should trigger the sniper skill if they can counter from 2-3 range like thunder mages.
Micaiah is a bit weird, and may not even be the go-to best option here, but i choose her for Great sacrifice- this sets yunaka to 1HP, heals the team, and dumps wrath all the way up to it's maximum +30 crit without much other setup or risk, like using holdout. this brings the crit rate up to a base +55. a crit engrave puts this at a range of +75-85 crit without even considering a killer weapon.
Oh me oh my, THAT sounds like a blast. I may have to try that out myself at some point, if you don't mind. 👀
A fun if not totally gimmick build idea is jean as a mage cannoneer with lucina's ring.... Just imagine a little cannoneer just blasting everyone around your army like a royal gattling gun. And max poisoning generals and dragons without risk of damage...
My second build idea. Is Vander as a sniper JUST GLUED to alear. High CRIT rate... With low damage means he can usually set up in the mid game. AND IF BY SOME REASON you can bless him with lucina's Parthia bow. And manage to build his levels. He can start growing even in maddening.... Who am I kidding hell still be trash and most likely a liability.

Building characters without canter feels like a liability to me. So much of my strategy in maddening is controlling choke points with Bonded shield, cantering in and out of attack range to punish the incoming horde on player phase. I like your builds, though. Great video!
Putting Canter on absolutely everyone isn't always the play, imo. There's lots of other strong options out there, especially with the prevalence of skill books via the well. And while the strategy you're describing obviously works, the way I've been building my team has been working quite well as well! 21:57 I made Alfred into a thief & it is one of my strongest units for hard, Michiah engraving on a steel +2 has been his personal weapon all the way to late game, even without terrain or fog physical enemies had about 10 hit constantly, & because of that I would normally just hit Wait instead of anything else to get that free +2 str
Magic enemies, as well as large chain attacks, are still dangerous, but this was with no inherited skills, he did need some help with his speed but he eventually powered through
I’m not sure if canter triggers his personal, if it did then I’d go wolf knight to poison + hobble + run away and boost, other than that, if you don’t wanna/can’t have him on terrain, Unyielding works well with Holdout+ (heals 20% the other works at 20%), Lunar brace is also good if you wanna guarantee poison on player phase
For dlc, life sphere might be great if you wanna spend for it, Camilla’s Groundswell seems just as good but I haven’t seen it used before, also I’d say book of worlds is great for units with “Wait” personal skills, a guaranteed freeze on foes is always a good thing
Thief Alfred is not something I EVER expected to hear, but now I'm curious about it...I may just have to try this, thank you for the in-depth explanation Drew!
