    Best looking interceptor I’ve seen and heard so far. 6-hole baffle sounds good to me. Good job with the mods.

  • @redstormcrow
    @redstormcrow Před 3 lety +5

    I've run my gt650 with baffles in and briefly out. The sound is beautiful out but with high flow in it tones it down just enough not to upset the neighbours and attract any unwanted attention. The bike actually feels slightly better with baffles in. Overall this exhaust looks great, sounds fantastic and weighs a lot less than standard. Very pleased I fitted it.

  • @joelness
    @joelness Před 3 lety +6

    I can't get enough of this bike! Everything that's aesthetically changed from standard is perfectly cohesive, not a mash-up of catalog parts. I especially like the way the luggage rack gives the otherwise-awkward seat hoop/subframe a functional beauty.

    • @craigcoen183
      @craigcoen183 Před 3 lety +1

      I think the frame is a bit too long. I like the Baak kit that shortens the bike by 12cm. It comes with a subframe and a template for shortening the frame by 12cm, no welding required, just an angle grinder and drill. I think K-Speed sells something similar. One of the official RE mods does the same thing but they actually weld the shorter piece on so it’s seamless. (That bike is on their website and elsewhere on CZcams.) The interceptor reminds me of a Sportster in that way-an ideal platform for customization. I can’t imagine owning this bike and not personalizing it to a high degree. RE’s collaboration with S&S appears to confirm this.

      @@craigcoen183 Yes I understand that you may have to chop the frame to get the more radical custom look but as these bikes have a 3 year warranty . That would totally void it ,and drastically affect the after market value
      (try selling a bike with a chopped frame back to the trade) So you have to really sure you want to keep the bike for a long time to get the benefit .

      If you’re still reading, George, how do irreversible performance upgrades affect the aftermarket value of a bike? I mean S&S stuff like the cam or one of the bore kits. I know they don’t increase the value (for most buyers anyway) but do they negatively affect it? $6000 (I’m in the US) isn’t pocket change but I’m of the attitude that you should buy a bike, have fun with it,and don’t fret too much about the resale value. Of course chopping up the frame is something altogether different. Thanks for your insights.

    George@TEC, to be transparent, shouldn't you add a note that an otherwise stock bike runs best with the high flow baffle and that if one chooses to run the bike sans baffle, then certain minor modifications are recommended for the longevity of the exhaust and one's warranty is voided? And also that, sans baffle, retuning is required for optimal performance? At least this is what I understood from your comments, spoken and written, in other videos.
    Ps, I love my Stinger 2-1 and appreciate your design and engineering work, videos, etc 🙏

    • @georgemilburn6213
      @georgemilburn6213 Před 3 lety +2

      Sorry thought I covered that, Yes designed and tuned to run best with the supplied hi flow baffle.
      The quiet baffle will cost a small amount of performance due to restriction as would be expected and no baffle will run OK but no more power than with the Hi flow baffle fitted . We also don't encourage using without the baffle, as the high gas speeds will reduce the service life of the silencer packing, other than that not a problem.

You get a bunch of cables, and from what I can see on the taillight you have to purchase more parts yourself to make it work( the only provide 2 washers instead of 4 for the rear turn signals) no instructions not how to videos. I think the concepts and ideas are awesome from this company but there is a lack of clarity in their products. I have reached out to them several times with no response. It’s too bad.

There’s too much wire in the taillight kit, other than that it works great and excellent quality. The headlight fork ears won’t allow you to use the stock windscreen if you have it. Thought I could make it work, you can’t.
