Woodland tent camping in overnight heavy rainfall, some times the rain was so heavy I would not even hear my self talk when record in my oex Coyote lll backpacking tent .
Even though it was rain in the woods I could still cook myself a nice steak dinner,

It's not just the sound of the rain on the tent, it's the sense of security knowing that it keeps people away.
I’ve no problem with those long nights, I love them, especially with stealth camping. Everybody’s buggered off home, all the dog walkers, hikers, all gone! Means I can light a fire, depending on how stealth the camp is. Then, I just settle down and read my book, bliss- no interruptions, lost in my book. What more could one want!😁

Watching this has cured my fears about camping in a typical cold wet British Autumn.
No more “ it’s going to rain, l will go another time “.
Life is too short.
I got the same tent - if the ground is wet then I just put on waterproof trousers or a foam mat to kneel on whilst I set up inner compartment. I use lightweight tent poles to hold up tent door like a porch

I used to camp out about 30 nights in the Icelandic summer each year. It doesn't get dark in the summer, so there is no need for a torch or lantern. Probably my favourite part of every camp is that cup of hot chocolate made on the camping stove in a tin mug.

I've just got this tent for me and the son wild camping, absalutely cracking tent, great quality, went up drum tight, flysheet right to the ground, possibly a 4 season tent, well happy

Its pissing down with rain, and this guy is as happy as a pig in shit, Yet its beautifully boring to the point I can almost smell the wet grass. Its got to be the best channel out there by a country mile.

I'm all about this style outer pitch tunnel tent. Once I pitch them once I leave the inner clipped .
They so easy to set up. Put the poles in . Put the 3 back pegs in and pull. If you keep the inner clipped there up and down in 2 minuets flat . Way better than domes .

Camped 1st November, the rain was torrential .outer pitch tents every time. I was in woodland and elm trees 50ft high obviously Dutch elm disease just crashing down and bringing other trees in their way.love your videos mate.

I like the inner pitch tents. If it's raining when I'm setting up I just put a tarp up first, it's also easier to dry a tarp than the tent.
In the rain i prefer outer pitch as I can then keep the inner dry.. especially while on a route and doing multiples night, I have a racoon 2.0 and on motorbike trips has been an amazing tent.

A good book to read , or Phone ,U tube vids or Film , and solar battery charger, or a little wood whittling , maybe a spoon or cup , always something you can be doing 😊

Lanterns all the way, either my Feuerhand paraffin lantern, or, the best electric lantern you can get. The Sofirn BLF LT1, the best, you can change the light wave frequency from yellow to blue/white. Loads of modes, flickering candle, strobes, simulated lightening. Change the brightness. Make it turn off after 30 mins/ 1 hour and so on. Brilliant!😁. Really, it makes all other lights redundant, because it can simulate them all!

I like a lantern for my hammock enclosure or tent, or under the awning for cooking. Theyre a good source of light, even just sitting on the card table. But I usually always have a headlamp on for ease of use, and a flashlight (torch) handy for when I need a more focused beam of light. And I always have a deck of cards when I'm by myself to kill some time.

Enjoyed this, Dan. Brought back memories of a rainy night on a Cornish campsite. Heavy rain, steak, Newcastle Brown and peace -- right up to the point when a group of German students, who hadn't put their tent up right, started shrieking and heading for their car. Sounded like ww3 breaking out but they looked well rough, in the morning.

Just started watching and i've liked and subscribed! Our Vango scafell 300 is very like your tent with subtle differences! I sleep so well to the sound of rain on our tents and love when the wind is flapping it too!
big vestabuel nice big tent looks good mate. my eurohhike 2 man tent is outer first but on my tent when your taking it down you can leave the iner in it saves all the messing round mate when your puttin it up next time your camping. and im posh i use a bin bag when blowing the tent up lol

You would of loved the wine, it reduces down and the alcohol burns off. That said it's a bit of a sauce so wouldn't of needed that and the peppercorn.
The sauce would of been better warm too.
Love the big tent, deffo need the room on evenings like that.

Spent a month in a tent, we used foam pillows off old couches to sleep on; had a month so children could finish school year in old school before moving to a new school in fall; there were 5 kids 2adults --what fun LOL
