- The NBA Playoffs are underway and we're witnessing the transition to a new era in the NBA. Established superstars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and Steph Curry are all seemingly on the verge of missing the second round of the Playoffs as the Los Angeles Lakers fell down 0-3 to the Denver Nuggets, the Los Angeles Clippers fell down 1-2 to the Dallas Mavericks, and the Phoenix Suns fell down 0-3 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Young stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards, and Jayson Tatum are taking over and becoming the new faces of the NBA on the top teams in the league. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers had an incredible battle in what was game of the Playoffs so far. Let's talk about it.

The NBA media did a horrible job preparing for this generation unlike last era
All they did was drink the Lebron and Steph Curry kool aid but mostly the Lebron Kool Aid
Yeah the league is really going to regret that, but it’s even worse now because the media could’ve at least half baked a successor like they did with Kobe, and Kind of with Lebron, both not having Jordan’s impact the ladder less so. Now they refuse to market obvious choices like Luka, and Wemby all because they’re not American, and because they wanna squeeze the LeBron/Steph hype for all it’s worth
@@SixerIverson04 I remember when they actually cared Abt basketball n passed the torch from Kobe Mac vc Shaq n ai era
They done a terrible job , the current fans are still stuck on the nostalgia of lebron , kd , Steph , this will be a bad transition rooting for the younger guys
The media tried, but Zion can't control his appetite and Ja can't control playing with his gun. Their only hope now is Ant, which I had no problem with and think the is going to be a great face of NBA. Love his comment on load management
Witnessing the end of the Lebron, Steph, and KD era is hard to see fr because that era got me into the nba and was my entire childhood. While its hard knowing their end is near im going to appreciate them while they are still playing and not take them for granted
It's not the Fact they all going out, it's the Fact they all going at almost the Same time that's so Wild. The NBA will feel so empty soon...
Its the sad reality, just like jordan before lebron. Nothing stays forever, appreciate these superstars while they are still playing.
It's good thing, they destroyed the competitive art of the sport with their super teams
@@user-zs4go8ku3x nah it'll be more competitive... No more cheating with build your own super teams starter pack
@@truthhurts79superteams weren't even a successful strategy, though. Miami only won 2 out of 4 years and NOBODY else even made "throwing random stars together" work. (I don't count Golden State as a superteam because they already had a championship and 73 wins under their belt. They proved that they never needed KD, he was just an insurance policy) We just overrated the concept because everybody plays 2K and thinks that can translate into real life. And it DOESN'T.
End of the DIVA ERA.
people will just become divas again you realize that right
Already ended with Jordan and his "im Black Jesus" antics
Time repeats itself
@@mitchwest4073 *history. _History_ repeats itself.

The Timberwolves vs nuggets series will feed families for years and will undoubtedly be the best series this year
Unless OKC can keep exceeding expectations
Can the TWolves beat the Nuggets?
Honestly both OKC Mavs and Wolves nuggets will be cinema. East’s best matchup is unfortunately happening first round (Knicks Sixers)…Pacers, Bucks, Cavs, Magic all aren’t that serious imo and the Celtics will dog walk everyone else. I’m praying a Knicks Celtics series happens and the Knicks make it competitive tho
Don't hate on the inevitable Celtivs Knicks ECF
Suns fan here. Devin Booker is overrated. Ant is our stepdaddy
Everybody acting tough when they up.
They fact you acknowledge the first father 😂
Book did take ur team to the finals but wow is he playing poorly
All down hill since the Luka Special.
good stuff. this video also confirms the greatness and longevity of the Spurs' big 3 of Timmy, Tony and Manu. two finals appearances and franchise record 67 win season while they were all on the tail end of their careers. they deserve more credit
Can’t forget the chemistry they built along the way they stayed together as a core for a long time
The “worst 1st seed” in nba history got the media in shambles
No we’re not even doing this
relax u beat pels without Zion😂
@@nocomment2725oh but yall said we still losing in 6. Plus Zion not helping a 32 point win
@nocomment2725 They have never has Zion in the playoffs.
Who said theyre winning in 6?? Every opinion i ever saw was no zion means its likely a sweep. Or with him its like at worst okc in 6. @aggghgaabk
Kawai got alien shoulders.
I just realized bro only has 47k subscribers holy you make really good videos
This new era is going to be a great era. All of the younger teams acuatlly play great TEAM basketball, and are hungry to win. Just good competitive basketball all round. I love Lebron, Curry, Kawhi and Durant. But its time for a change of guard. Booker, Doncic , Anthony Edwards , SGA , Tatum etc are all good representations for the modern NBA.
Bro said booker 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I upvoted until I saw booker. Nah bro he’s not him.
@@aximus2057 booker has been to the nba finals( edwards, doncic , SGA haven’t been there yet) and was ranked 6th in scoring this year. Yes Booker.
@@mrawesome7175 but he shouldn’t be in the same sentence as those 3 Lmfao
Book and Tatum are lacking the dawg
Kd will forever be known as the dude who needed to join Steph curry to win a championship weak bastard*
Greatest Role Player of all time
Hey, great finals coverage, my dude! I was thinking the same thing about end of an era.
I'd only add that it's even more remarkable that the old heads (Middleton, Horford, Conley, and others) continue to play at such a high level!
The end of thinking Devin Booker is a legit superstar that can carry team 😆
It really feels like he could’ve been a superstar with how amazing he played last playoffs, but it’s very apparent that even with a full offseason with KD and being able to play with another a good player in Beal he just doesn’t have it. He doesn’t look like himself at all so really the only chance he had at a title was 2021 and even 2022 but he and the others completely squandered it. A lot of that is because Book can’t close games very well and he gets worse as the series comes closer to ending. He’s just not that guy and I don’t think he ever will be.
I'm all in on this new era. Team basketball is winning. Espn and the like are going to have to adjust or die off too. They have failed to market smaller market, yet drastically better teams to casuals. Something tells me they will continue to do so at their own demise. Basketball CZcams is already taking more and more views. If silver can get a streaming deal done, the "face of the nba" will be a group of guys. It'll never be the same, and I'm here for it.
if you catch my drift...
the teams all play the same now.
ITS NOT OVER! GSW drafts Bronny, gets Bron on the pennies and brings KD back. Ultimate old man diva team, the media glaze would be insane.
End of Super teams, im all for it..
As the old guard fades away, there is an outside chance that uber-veteran Mike Conley will be the one holding the trophy. I would love to see that, he'd have one to go with his NCAA trophy from ages ago. Great player; never a superstar, but he'll have a great career to look back on and be proud of.
I'd love to see that. Loved him back on the Grizz.
I'm pulling for T Wolves or Denver for the chip this year
Basically the 2010s gen is old and the 2020s gen is getting established. Jokic, giannis, luka and wemby gonna fight for this decade.
Dumb I wanna watch some curry Vs Kyrie
Can't wait for this era of superstar budding up, load management, and skipping games to end. I am glad the dark age of NBA is finally going down the drain
I can't wait for Bron to retire. He's set the tone for the last 15 years or so, and it's been a childish one.
ctfu what are yall talking about 😂
@@mattballedout the nba has been in a slump the past 3-4 years. That’s pretty obvious. And you can see it in the ratings. Too much stars team hopping. The regular season not being respected by the stars. The all star game being treated like a joke. Excessive game stoppage by the refs ruining immersion. Not enough media coverage of superstars in small market teams. I hope these issues are resolved.
Kawhi is cursed for leaving the raptors. Should’ve stayed
The bron era been over for years now he just cant except it. Hes not even top 10 right now but the media is trying their best to keep his legacy alive lol I'll be glad when he retires because he created the narrative where teams feel like they have to win over night instead of building an actual core. Now he wines every year that he gets knocked out of the playoffs lol I think hes going to try and join another team in the offseason and the media will continue to give him more attention than players like Tatum, Brown, SGA, Jokic, Edwards, Giannis, and Luka (just to name a few)'
You also gotta factor in players having longer careers. 10 years ago guys werent making the allstar team at 35 plus.
All in all i do agree this era is over and really has been over for a while now. The league is much deeper now so the teams building through the draft are dominating verses the make shift overnight super teams. I predicted that years ago.
I agree
This is major glazing no shit lebron is not top 10 in league right now but losing your mind that the media is talking about lebron is crazy at the end of the day it’s lebron niggas acting like he forgettable crazy stats at his age and his accolades
@@jaleocuffee516 all the nba media talks about is Lebron that’s the issue. They haven’t given players like luka, shai and Jokic enough coverage. Lebron should be getting less media attention since he’s on the way out. Building up the up and coming players is what the media should be doing.
LETS GO CONE
Yep, KD, LBJ, Steph, kawhi, and a few more are done
In 2019 I started getting interested in basketball because I looked at the situation in the league and the legends of the time were about to get old while there was an immense load of talent in the league and they were generally not interested in playing boring iso, something that was way too common in the 10s. While the old guard managed to get a couple trophies still, the writing was definitely on the wall even back then. So this video seems like it's just late. One explanation is that the big media outlets still gave a disproportionate amount of attention to the old guard even though they weren't quite as good anymore except for maybe Curry and LeBron.
The longevity has to be admired. By 2014 most of Kobe's generation had long been past their most productive days.
Very interesting that Lebron has been able to keep his body fat percentage damn near lower than it was in his twenties while maintaining all that muscle mass and still being able to run up and down the court at his age. His longevity is very interesting.
@@leanmeanmenace1744 Yes... interesting...
Just like Mike told Larry and Bird it's a new sheriff in town..well Kd LeBron Steph you have been warned 😂😂

What if OKC pulls a shocker and wins it all lol
KD would be pissed haha
Same way I felt when Tim duncan kobe dirk garnett wade were on their way out
AY notice how the west got three teams down 3-0 and every team in the East got at least 1 win? I’m just saying
Those top west teams are insane
Those east teams ain't winning no chip
@@angel_killzit Knicks?
@Sukinero if embiid plays the rest of the series last game and at his mvp level my won't even get past him , they barely won game 2 off a missed foul and timeout not givin
@@SukineroKnicks not even beating the sixers lol
And I wouldn’t consider Jokic exactly “old” as they are 10 years younger than Bron. So Bron was 29 10 years ago as well and we still considered him in the 2010s because he aged well and accomplished most of his feats in the 10s. Assuming Jokic does the same he should be considered in the 20s era along with “younger” guys like Luka SGA etc
its crazy to see that the celtics have an average age of 26,8 in the team. It always feels like we are getting old or leaving the prime, we barely reached it.
The reason to me why this transition away from the starpower teams with the veterans is that most of them are or have been favoring individuals over a system. Especially true team building and development rather then assembling a team is clearly the difference.
Darvin Ham, Doc Rivers even Frank Vogel are being thrown in and asked to make this work.
On the other hand OKC, Indiana, Min, Cle and even Boston are trying to build on continuity even if their coaches might be outcoached (Boston).
As much as I like Luka, he is kind of a ball stopper and I can’t even remember seeing him make an assisted FG. They upgraded the roster to me but are one Luka or Kyrie injury away from nonstop hero ball.
OKC on the other hand is successful cause they don’t hang individuals over the group and over the system. Also don’t underestimate the fact that this organisation values character and the person over anything else. Chet didn’t have a great offensive game last night but he made HUGE stops and Shai has no problems letting Lu Dort shoot from three rather then going for 30+ himself.
The Pelicans miss Zion yeah but give credit to the Thunder for completely shutting down their offense. Ingram didn’t take 20 fga yet no matter how many he makes cause their haven’t been 20 fgas there for him with Lu and dub all over him.
Progress is not linear and only two teams can go to the finals but to stick to your identity and make the most out of the entire roster is much more valuable to me then all this stars going iso over iso and every team taking 3s like crazy as if this is the only answer they have. It also doesn’t hurt to have players who are willing to do the dirty work, play defense first and have no problem to have a well defined role. That’s not something I see on the Lakers, Warriors, Suns etc.
the Suns completely messed up their future with their trades and good luck when not if KD signals he doesn’t want to be there anymore or asks for roster changes.
That’s also the reason Miami with Spo at the head always finds ways to get the most out of any roster. The players are locked in, they have an identity and room to grow.
Thunderup!⚡️
Yep, let's enjoy their last games and appreciate what they brought to the game.
Everyone ages and will not always be on top, so let's be kind and not be too hard on them.
OKC is the only team i would say got the easiest match up. My Lakers hopefully go home today so we can make some actual changes and not just have some Conversations. Suns without shooting can't do anything, they are just playing against the best defense in the League.
It crazy cause nobody saw the New generation coming because ESPN just talk about Lebron and the Warriors all day for the past 7 years now 😂
ring chasing era, it's strange to me a guy like kd has any fans left. what's the storyline? getting your ass beat and going somewhere else? pathetic
Man Ant scares me. Looking like his floor may literally be Kobe level. I'm excited for the Thunder Timberwolves Mavericks Nuggets Grizzlies matchups over the next several post seasons. The future is BRIGHT in the west
Let’s hope, it’s a built not bought future.
Yes
Chef Curry out.
The Slim Reaper out.
The King out.
The age of the Old Guard is coming to an end.
When was KD ever an automatic trip to the finals?
People talk about him in top 5s for his ability to get buckets anywhere, and yeah thats great but when it doesn't lead to wins what the hell does it matter? His supporting cast may not be great but thats literally because they had to decimate the team to bring him over so
LeFlop retiring? Damn what would LeSPN do?
To think these 3 would have 1 playoff win for the first time since lebron missed the playoffs in 2005 is crazy...
Embiid still not making the ecf😂
Oh look, there is nuggets fan in the distance talking that sh/t

The future is now old man

23 years olds should be running circles around 34 year olds
...times they are a changing
If only warriors got the 8th seed and we could have truly seen the changing of the guard in all four western conference series.
Dude curry is still that guy. He is what lebron thinks he is. Curry seriously has no help at all and if he gets that help he’ll win a couple more chips before he retires.
It’s the end of the 2010 stars who made careers out of being given free throws just because somebody thought about going for a block. I’m glad. Those players can’t hang.
The flopping and no defense era led by Lebron is hopefully over 🙏🏼🙏🏼

@@jamaineberry20 Duh mf 😂 that’s how I know these players are sorry now if you gotta compare em to civilians 😂😂
I’m convinced that people that say reverse LeBronto didn’t witness LeBronto.
The main reason Lebronto was a thing was because Lowry and Derozan were mentally weak leaders. Derozan has admitted to having mental issues. And Lowry literally had to mentally decompress during one of the playoff games. And I’m a raptors fans. Lebron had such a mental strange hold on that Derozan Lowry led raptors it was insane. The nuggets-lakers don’t follow that same dynamic. The reason the lakers get demolished by the nuggets is because the nuggets are a well oil team who play a cohesive style of basketball. They’re just the better team.
@@leanmeanmenace1744 also derozan and lowry simply are not very good. Doing decent in season of an awful conference and being a good team are two totally different things
Of course it's time for the next era. The game has gone international. The top five players in the league are Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Joel Embiid. None are originally from the US. And there are only more to come.
Giannis got hurt
Kawhi got hurt
Zion got hurt

Still can’t get over how Dallas moved on from Brunson and gave up a lot to get Kyrie!? Dallas dumb, front office anyway.
Lebron just stopped the sweep
See what happens when you stop FAVORING and pushing established stars? It allows new stars to emerge ORGANICALLY.
Why Lebron choose the Lakers?
Nonsense topics about things we already know
Yeah this didnt age well. Harden and specially PG still clearly got it.
and... harden scored 7pts last night. Harden always starts off decent then violently implodes; PG is still waiting for a ring
First I love the nuggets sm i live in cali and I can’t stand lakers fans 😂
Same here became a nuggets fan since 2008 living in LA< kobe has been our Demon, but the Lakers going out like this is a disgrace to the cities legacy
I mean the way the Duncan, dirk and Kobe era ended was different because we had the Lebron, Steph and KD era loaded up. For this one we have Anthony edwards and Ja Morant, who have barely won a series.
I’ve been following you for a few months now and usually agree with most of your takes. But for your favorite player of all time to be Russell Westbrook? Oh, I’m sorry, Westbrick? That really got me.
He was so out of line on SO many of his fouls against the Mavs. To get more technical fouls than points…. To be 0/7 FGA. 1 flagrant. It’s just an embarrassing stat line. Embarrassing to the Clippers and embarrassing to the league. I don’t know how much louder I’d say he was my favorite player of all time.
Agree with your takes on the young and talented Thunder (apart from p*edetor Giddey) 🗑️
At some point you need to just call a spade a spade.
Booker is overrated
Shouldn't put Wardell in this coversation, he's still balling out of this world, it's the rest of his squad that needs to go.
