Good morning everyone! Thank you for letting me share with you this all new totally redesigned Equinox with you. Make sure to let me know how you feel about it in the comments section! I hope you have a great day!
Hey Joe! I'm digging what Chevy did. Reminds me of a Trax mixed with Trailblazer. Funny how when you went into tow/haul mode it showed a Colorado. 😅😅
@@DarkJediChrisG-1425 that happens with pre-production models
@RaitisRides By the way, I noticed a band-aid on your hand. Joe U okay, brother?
I do hope that Chevrolet will do the same as for the Bolt EV/EUV, and so is the final 10th Generation Malibu soon for 2025.🙏
Joe, you don’t know it but we are secret besties. You helped me get through 2020, man. But doesn’t your skin crawl just a little bit when you present a vehicle with horsepower this low? I’d rather go “On Throttle” with my bicycle. Enjoyed the video anyway.
I bought a 2005 Equinox in November 2004. 19 years and still going strong!
That is so awesome to hear!
For years I said when I get another car it would be an Equinox. Then I heard they were going electric and that turned me off. This renewed my faith in getting another one.
@@DALEf4uany major issues/repair encountered?
I have an 08 equinox sport with 298,000 miles on it, they are way better than people say if you take care of them
I’ve had a 2008 torrent since brand new. Runs better than my 2018 Chevrolet Cruz RS.
Chevy made the most underrated SUV in the segment even better. I still drive my 2018 Equinox 1.5T and currently have 260000 kms on it. Can't wait to try out the Active Trim. Thanks again Lori and Raiti for bringing us another amazing video.
That’s so awesome to hear! Thank you for sharing that ownership experience

What a huge improvement over previous models.
This is so true and refreshing to see!
The rs eqinox has low profile tires on it
My wife has had 2 Equinox's (2011 and 2018). Both were great. May need to trade the 2018 in on the 2025.
Love the design but 1.5 engine is not enough in my opinion
Disappointed about the 175hp engine. Why they dont put in the old 2L 4 cylinder that makes 200+hp. I think it is a big mistake.
Why not even a 3.6
Since early pictures leaked, this moved to the top of my list! My 2015 Equinox is still going strong with 145,000miles but I'm ready to trade it in with the 2025!!
Oh wow! That is so awesome to hear Patrick!
I have a 2015 Equinox myself and i am ready to buy. I was going to buy a 2024 but i think ima wait for this one
@@kenroncapron7891 Nice! I think they'll be out near early summer! I can't wait to see these in person!
I live in The Bahamas 🇧🇸 so I'll have to wait couple of months after launch in the US and Mexico before my country gets them.
One of the reasons these offroad trims are so popular - and they sell to urbanites in huge quantities - is the big fat 65 aspect tires. If you think about it, many bay area cities like Oakland where i live are off-road environments due to the prevalence of potholes.
Hate the two tone paint, Ghastly. Nice wheels. Very nice interior. A great overall design. These compact SUV's are incredibly popular for a good reason. Practical, and space efficient. Sedans have no chance of coming back when you have so much usable interior space.
I like the interior………..exterior looks better on RS. Sometimes just the wheels make a vehicle look so much better. Thanks Joe and Lori………I should have had pancakes for breakfast 🥞 🙂
Gotta start your day Tom with some flapjacks! 🥞
This is the first time ever we see the all new Equinox in video, Great job!
I’m so glad that I can bring it to you!
The gray and white and red and black paints really work together, both look sharp and interiors are nice!
That thing is loaded. Always been interested in an Equinox but hated the look of the old infotainment system/dash. This is a winner. ♥
Looks much better. Things I don't like is the power output and CVT. Only thing I don't like about the exterior styling is the squarish wheel wells. It's going to be much harder to get lower offset wheels in there for people that like doing that, but I don't see very many if any Equinox owners doing that.
The engine is the downfall of this. Should have an upgraded option like ford does with the Escape to give 250hp. Even the Rogue is at 201hp. 175hp is crazy low for a vehicle of this size.
Torque is the infinitely more important number when it comes to acceleration rather than horsepower. Pretty sure the torque number is 203 lb-ft. Acceleration will be class competitive against the other 4 cylinder base engine competition. Unless the 8 sp./CVT let's the engine down.
I like how GM is giving the customers the big infotainment for all these new vehicles as standard or at least every new models having this nice infotainment collectively.
Love the improvement, especially in the interior styling and the wheels just set it off. This was indeed a special surprise, Joe!
I would get the Active trim. Love that front end. Reminds me of Audi Q8's front fascia
Good job, Joe, of bringing this newly redesigned Equinox to us from its secret location. Chevy seems to be on a roll.
I’m glad that I can bring it to you!
Looks great inside and out, but they kinda lost me with that 1.5L and CVT for FWD models, CVTs have been riddled with issues across pretty much every manufacturer. I am surprised they didn't use the 9 speed that is paired with the 2.0L from the previous gen, that transmission is fantastic. Hopefully, the 8 speed is decent for the AWD models.
they used to offer the 2.0L in early models of outgoing generation but ever since the Blazer went into production the optional 2.0 was discontinued
@@dynxmicjake yep, my wife has a 2020 equinox with the 2.0L and 9 speed, it is night and day from the 1.5L and 6 speed that came standard those years. The only downside is premium gas, but it’s worth it for us. I was really hoping they would upgrade the drivetrain a bit more for this new gen, kinda disappointing.
@@KnightSurf9 nice! i have a 2015 traverse and it has almost 80k miles and it’s still going strong!
@@dynxmicjake I really like the traverse, my sister has one and the amount of cargo space is crazy. The new 2024 traverse looks great, I’m interested to see how it drives.
@@KnightSurf9 i am too! i’m also wondering how the 2.5 turbo is gonna be now that the 3.6 V6 is gone.
Overall, nice look. 2 tone color looks awful. Engine is anemic.
I can understand where you are coming frim
Under $30,000 please!!! That RS is sweet. Reminds me of how I felt the first time I saw the Range Rover Evoque. Love to see the attention to interior materials. More of this styling and quality from GM is greatly anticipated and appreciated.
Please
Nice overall changes both in and out ,
Glad to see not all black interior also.
I totally agree with you!
Love our 2019 Equinox and now I can not wait for the 2025 to arrive at dealers.
This is so fantastic to hear!
They need too bring the 2.0 back more power chevy n these little engines now geez 175 hp smh 😂
needs a 2.0L turbo
I agree with you!
The RS trim deserves a power bump to go with the looks.
That would be nice!
Thank the lord it still has a motor in it! Thank you!
Tell me about it!
Technically speaking , it is an internal combustion engine, NOT a motor , if it had a motor then it would either be a hybrid or full electric .
No 2.0T engine and FWD CVT are the disappointments. The interior is definitely a level up from current gen.
200 -220 HP would have been a nice addition
Big time!
In my household of 5 drivers, we all have equinox’s. 2012, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2024 models all have been great & reliable. Definitely adding a 2025 model year to our fleet already 😂😂😂😂. We are a Detroit 3 family for life, no foreign company will ever have our business
best looking Equinox by a mile. They will sell a lot of these
Hey raiti's i know that the equinox looks clean and nice but the interior looks very good and awesome
Chevy really upped their game on this one! I
Glad that you like it!
I like everything except the engine. Why they couldn’t bring the option of the 2.0T?
Great review!!!! This just became top of list when I trade my 2019 2.0T Equinox Premier in about 2 years. Nobody had said yet how much hard plastics are in this one. The only gripe I have is the relatively weak 1.5T engine. I hope they continue to offer the Auto trans in the AWD models. CVT is an absolute non starter for me. I've owned two different vehicles with CVT and hated the trans. Man that Activ trim looks good.
Good improvement but needs more hp the 1.5L is lacking behind
That would have been nice!
2025 Chevrolet Equinox ACTIV AWD!
2025 Chevrolet Equinox RS!
You nailed it Scott! Thanks man!
@@RaitisRides! No problem!
It's a trax just a little bigger
It's a comparable to the trax/trailblazer. No sun roof feels closed in, I'll keep my premier!
@@BabyKakesxOx I agree with you. The trax is not much different from this one. I like having a sun roof too. It makes the car feel more spacious and bright. Your premier is a good choice.
This has a much nicer interior than the Trax with way better materials and it’s a full LED vehicle inside and out.
The Equinox has always been a "Transportation Appliance", as I like to say. But, that all changes for 2025!
Looks WAY better than the current model which is no surprise. However, it still likely won’t sell all that well against the competition.
Great review! GM did a fantastic job with this redesign. This is actually what I need and want so the timing is perfect!
They knocked it out of the parl!
Have a 2013 Equinox this will surely be on my shopping list.
That is so great to hear!
Looks great inside and out, however that engine is laughably slow. Cant imagine this new bigger heavier gen will be any quicker. Merging and passing ability is a safety issue, if the car doesnt get out of its own way when you put your foot to the floor it’s just an accident waiting to happen…
Very nice looking vehicle but I have real concerns about the 1.5 litre engine with a turbo charge. You must be very careful driving with a turbocharged engine
I’m really liking Chevy’s redesigns. This Equinox is really nice. However a 1.5L turbo is just not enough for me. A 2.0L turbo would be great.
It looks nice, but why the 19 and 20 inch wheels for the RS, for maximum road noise and bad ride? A vehicle like that should have 16 or 17 inch wheels.
I like the exterior way better than the prev gen
Oh big time changes for sure
Let's hope the price is as attactive
Its crazy to see how all cars changed from old rugged beaters to new high tech ev's or aggressive looking cars
Wow...love the update. My daughter has driven her 2014 since new. It has been a great vehicle. Chevy will sell lots of this new Equinox. Thanks Joe. PS: "See the USA in your Chevrolet"....vintage commercial song.
Thanks for letting me share it with you Mike!
I see a lot of imitation here. One is the color combination two-tone treatment of the Toyota RAV4 Trail TRD. The other is the cutout treatment in the d pillar of the Nissan Pathfinder floating roof design. I see an identity crisis here. Oh yeah, I almost forgot to mention the taillights is also similar to the current generation Toyota Camry.
Love the aggressive look but the 1.5 liter engine is a big turn off. A 2.0 liter turbo will be decent or 2.4 liter turbo or naturally aspirated engine
I absolutely love the Active and the RS. I would like to purchase one, but the pricing has to be on par
I have a 2013 Equinox with the 3.6L V6 engine and love it. The only issue I've had with the vehical is the strut that helps hold up the rear tail gate, I had to replace it a few years ago. But that is it. This vehical is fantastic. I want to replace it soon only because I want a new car and when Chevy removed the 3.6L engine option from the Equinox several years ago I was very disappointed. I figured I'd have to go to the Blazer or the Traverse to get the V6 again then Chevy removed it from the Traverse. Call me crazy but I don't want a turbo engine, I feel it's another thing to go wrong. I'm a snow bird and when I have to travel 1400 miles to get from MI to FL, I like to move and the V6 really moves. So, I love the looks of the new Equinox and the Traverse but you may have lost a customer because of the engine selections.
That’s an interesting color. Better than the usual black, white or silver.
I totally agree with you David
It’s GM’s Cacti Green color, I currently have it. It’s very nice
“Baby caca green”

It’s time for a new Equinox! My 2011 gave me great service. Prefer auto transmission. Go Chevy!
I know that Chevrolet knows about more electrical vehicles after the new year has passed and than this is now while we were in the year of 2024 and now we have a 2025 chevy equinox!
Debating between a trax or wait for the equinox, but has to range under 32k 😅
Thanks for all the detailed information. But that 1.5 turbo gives me hesitant vibes. And the first time I haven't heard you zonk the fake exhaust
Yeah I was kind of out of it on this one.
@@RaitisRides But lots of good details.
It looks amazing, but I think it would be nice to have some more power, maybe 230 hp
That would be really nice of it!
It definitely looks better than the previous generation.
Quite a few comments on the missing 2.0L and lack of power.. the 2.0L was dropped because it didn't sell. I'm not surprised. I don't think the majority of Equinox buyers really care about horsepower.
It will be interesting to see how it pans out!
This could be my next suv. I definitely will be using my employee discount.
That is so great to hear!
I love the redesign. All comes down to pricing now.
This is so true!
If I had the guess the LT will start in the low 30s and the Activ and RS will start in the mid-high 30s including destination with the fully loaded/optioned AWD versions coming in slightly under $45k including destination. I would want all the options except the pano roof.
Ok now I might consider this!!
Not sure about the two tone 🤔
Good news is you don't have to get it in 2-tone.
Let (E) stand for the price but I do love the fact that Chevy went over & above when it comes to the way Chevy Equinox Active.
No LS version? New CVT transmission? I'll see how these and the Trax engines do before getting one. Wheel well looks like it's cutting out alot of cargo space.
Called it 😂 looks good though
You sure did Tyler
8:05 Subaru heard that, and has actively engaged the design team on whether or not the entire Wilderness vehicle line can be made of flat black plastic cladding.
As always…great detail and fitting in all the specifics that others leave out. THANKS!
I like it overall Joe but I think it should have more horsepower.
Does the RS have the ventilated seats as well or is it just on the Activ trim?
Disappointed with the CVT and not a big fan of the 2-tone colors (white top, A pillars, and mirror caps) - it looks as though GM had extra parts available and simply slapped them together. Perhaps others will like it? So many great features on the 2024 Trax compared to this vehicle at a better price (yes, smaller). To me, the Trailblazer is somewhat stuck in a dead zone for Chevrolet now. Great review and as always, appreciate your efforts!
I have a 2023 Equinox LS excellent vehicle, can’t believe they plan to put a CVT in the 2025 redesign what a waste of reliability. Exterior looks excellent but CVT will make it a bust will switch companies when I eventually trade my 23 Equinox in.
That RS model is sweet. Especially that red and black nice.
I remember when you could have engine choices 4 cylinder n v6 it seems there just stuck in the 100s with horsepower
GR8 review J.R. spot on Lori big improvement for sure it would ve be a real homerun with the 2.0T
Looks great, glad to see we have some Twinkie storage section. Have a Blessed Day!
Love the look of this New 2025 Equinox. Inside and out it has such a Premium look about it. Was not crazy about the previous version as far as looks of the vehicle, but this one is incredible all the way around. I’m currently driving a 2919 Tucson, but may be looking to trade her in on this beauty or Hyundai’s New 2025 Santa Fe which may be another segment larger than this Equinox. Either way thanks for the fantastic reviews as always on New and upcoming vehicle’s Raiti!
They totally reinvented the Chevy equinox
Oh yes they sure did!
@@RaitisRides they sure did, but there was one thing that was missing. It was a panoramic sunroof. Also when will the 2025 reinvented equinox be on sale?
it is quite the facelift for the Equinox no doubt. As much as I'm waiting on the EV version this one has me looking for sure. I currently have the 22 RS version so this is a whole new look and style and I'm digging it for sure. Just not 100% on the electronic column shift concept as that is also the same as the EV version. But time will tell and it's interesting they went with the CVT which I hope the techs with GM/Chevy really did their homework and make this option more appealing. As I've never been a fan of that one. But the AWD model has an actual transmission. This could be interesting!
Good morning, it's about time Chevy updated the equinox.
We recently visited our local GM dealer with the GMC Terrain as our main focus. After watching this video I think we will be waiting a few months so we can see the new Equinox. Great job as usual.
I feel like I’ve heard a lot of negative things about the equinox. Most people I’ve talked about this car have said to never buy it. Have they made updates besides the redesign?
I really like this. Significant upgrade from the previous model year. It kind of improves upon the Trax in every shortcoming that that cool little car had: more power, more room, more comfort, etc. Style is really good inside and out (I prefer the styling of the Equinox EV a bit more, but this is certainly fine & is growing on me). SO many brands are on my do-not-shop list (Hyundai, Kia, ford, VW, Nissan) & some others are too pricey or weird looking (Toyota, Honda)... so this is a REALLY good offering! I am excited to see it when it hits showroom floors later this year.
This looks very interesting!! 😊
I’m so glad that you think so!
Interior and exterior are very well done! 1.5L with only 175hp is simply not competitive. 185hp is the bare minimum, with +200 hp as the expectation for this class/price of vehicle. Where's the hybrid for better fuel economy and performance?
Yeah I wished they would have bumped that up.
If the Torque is unchanged, it actually is competitive as it's 203. This class isn't about winning races.
@@lilred1107 I suppose as a base engine, I can accept this as competitive. But GM needs to also remember that the majority of their competitors offer multiple powertrain options (with hybrid now being a near preferred choice). Hyundai/Kia's upgrade hybrids are particularly impressive, with 225hp/256 torque for equivalent prices to the current Equinox. Why buy an Equinox with 175hp, cloth seats and 36-month warranty, when Honda/Toyota are known to be more reliable/fuel-efficient and are more powerful in base trim, while Hyundai/Kia are lower-priced, more powerful in base and hybrid trims (ie: more fuel-efficient) and have 60 months of warranty? Its really a hard sell, and GM should recognize that. The need to have something to differentiate themselves. Some reason to pick this product. As it stands, style and the number of dealerships in rural areas is about it. They aren't lower-priced, they aren't more powerful, they aren't more reliable, and they aren't more fuel-efficient.
This thing looks great! Lovely interior. I just want more power

Donut spare under the rear floor or inflator kit??
Nice video as always, great team effort! Great looking machine. Feels like a mini new Traverse. Hoping this allows GM/Chevrolet to let the next gen Blazer be a true off-roader to compete against the Broncos and 4Runners of the world 🤞
It look infused with 2 different cars a little. Kia Sportage front, Nissan Pathfinder back end.
