I have a friend who lives like this because her parents are very abusive and do not clean the house whatsoever and it does not kill you to be in a house like this to eat in a house like this or to drink in a house like this when I go over I go over for my friend because I love her and yes, her house makes me uncomfortable, but I can deal with it for a few hours. If that means I can be with my friend.

Please tell this person the red paint on walls causes anxiety and depression. I recommend a more neutral color maybe even like a blue tone for more calming effect
Familia, red paint doesn't cause mental health problems. Lead paint, maybe, but that's a separate issue. I've only ever lived in places with either beige walls or some variety of pastel and I'm depressed af.

We don't know this. Maybe she will design a poster with easy steps for a clean living space? Place large trash bins inside the main problem areas. So on so forth.
She always says she does follow up with the people afterwards. She says some of them make the house messy again but it's still worth it because 1. Some people do end up keeping it clean and 2. Even if it ends up messy again She feels it still gives them a short sense of relief from the mess which is worth it.
