Hi, i'm the creator of the holland 1. Thanks for featuring it!
To help clarify a few things:
1: The submarine is only meant for short term missions. This plus the fact you left it running underwater and the face that you lost a bit when opening it meant that it had a shorter range than usual.
2: Yes, space is for the torpedo. I should have made that more clear. However. the torpedo is actually sonar guided, so the reason id dolphin dived was that there was not target to lock on to, and the reason it did not work the second time was because you were both too fast and too deep.
3: Yes the exhaust is in the way of the periscope. I tried to add catalytic converters, but didnt use enough for the large engine.
4: You cant see out the windows. I just couldn't make a version you could look through that would have the right proportions.
5: To prevent flooding, open the hatch to the ballast tanks and pump out from there. It is basically unarmoured, so its not really safe.
Finally, great video! If you liked the sub, I would also recommend my SS Boston ocean liner and the Disguised fishing boat/sub hunter, which I spent a bit more time on. Thanks!
Edited: Also, the boat was made in 1901, so yeah, not much tech.

It's a great build and felt very authentic. Actually loved the small size and sorry range nature. I would like to use it again and get a good torpedo launch now that we know it is sonar guided - that's ace! Great work :)
The periscope is fine. It's supposed to be used when the sun is underwater and there's no smoke when the battery is switched on
