Jason you look really healthy and in shape right now. Your face has great color. Thanks for being so nice in these videos and to bowling in general. Thanks for being so classy like Duke.
I’m not the biggest fan of two handed bowling but huge respect for belmo. Enjoyed hearing his thought process and I’m gonna use some of his tips when I bowl. Useful insight thanks
Nope. Norm duke is the goat. You gotta think about the circumstances. Norm started with bad technology and was able to win a ton. And then when the new technology and high rev guys appeared he was still able to win a ton. Jason bowls with two hands which automatically eliminates him from goat conversations. Not cause he’s cheating he’s not two hands is fine. It’s just that norm has everything against him and is still able to win. Norm duke is without the goat.
jace welsh that makes no sense. I understand that you think Norm is the GOAT, but you saying that Belmo bowling with two hands automatically eliminates him from the GOAT conversation and then you say that it’s not because you are a two handed hater is a contradiction. And no matter what happens, Belmo will be considered the greatest of his time. But even he says the best is Walter Ray and Earl Anthony.
@@jacewelsh8537 Jace, I dont think you know what your saying, Norm was competing against other guys with "bad technology" and belmo is competing with guys using good technology. they are on level playing field. The player of the year race this year is another example. of the 8 guys vying for it with highest points, 2 of them are 2 handed, its not like they are pushing one handers away. Belmo is just the best bowler in the world and your gonna have to suck it up, he is the GOAT and will go down as such when hes done. You can hate all you want, but Norm wouldnt even be 2nd in line for that honour.
@@oldbloke5233 Your comment is fair and correct. At the end of the match, it's the score that counts regardless of using one or two hands. BTW, BOTH styles are legal, aren't they?
I was there that night and it was an amazing experience. Took my dad for his birthday and we had a blast. Seeing belmo make history like that is something I'll remember for the rest of my life!
It was only 4 years ago using Lane 11 (The Left Lane) and Lane 12 (The Right Lane) for the 2019 PBA World Championship with 24 Lanes plus 66 more for a total of 90 lanes.
All I do is say facts brother. It’s your fault for not seeing that. This generation becomes blind because all they do is see someone is winning a lot and then they decide to jump on that train because they think it’s cool. Everyone seems to forget what happened in 2016. Belmonte lost every show in 2016. Remember that? No? Smarten up then.
jace welsh so? He may have lost every show, but that didn’t deter him like it has some people. Some people go out and they don’t win a lot and then they quit. He hasn’t. He’s worked hard to get to where he is, and I don’t understand why people dislike him.
After almost a year practicing on dry lanes it was quite a shock to be struggling with the house oil during league play. No matter how well I did in practice I could just never translate that over to the oil. I've watched my fellow bowlers struggle from week to week just to try to keep their 200 + averages. A member of my team bowls at least 240 regularly and there were a few weeks where he didn't even make 200!!! This whole thing feels like one huge scam!!! I now have 15 balls, and none of them are giving me any confidence whatsoever of improving to a 200 average. I am bowling tonight after a 108, 138, and a 107 last week. I only got 8 games of practice in 6 days ago, and I'm petrified with fear that I do really suck!!!! There were a few weeks where I managed to get 10 games a day for a week and bowled 180, 191, 160something and it really felt like I was getting better, then I just couldn't afford to practice anymore because of budget cuts, and have dropped.
The best thing to do is practice smart. Use that practice time for working on a specific aspect of your game that isn’t working out for you. Secondly, when you get to league and you aren’t bowling, focus on something else like the tv is there’s anything good on or having conversations with your friends. You will improve. You just have to find ways to help yourself. If you need to, see if someone who knows oil bowling can coach you on the intricacies.
@@DeanMcCain Thanks for the advice. I managed to get some oil on the lane for practice, but only had enough time for 4 games. Later, on league, I bowled the same as I did with the practice. I've watched enough instructional videos and had the pro at the bowling alley trying to coach me and others at the lanes have tried to help me, but, there is always something off. If I correct one problem I start to develop some other curse. I've seen Belmo's scores go up and down as well as all the other pros scores. There is something in the way they put down the oil, maybe a clogged spout, or the machine just needs to be replace entirely as I noticed everyone in the league has some kind of problem with their game and these are bowlers who regularly bowl in the 240's and above. ...this is way too much typing. :)
@@captainricco2777 I'd say if you are hitting in the low- to mid-100s, spares may be where your practice time is used best. Get a polyester/plastic ball drilled up for you, polish it up real nice, and throw straight (i.e. no hook) at all your spares, even at the ones in the middle of the lane. Once you can consistently make 1 to 3 pin combination spares reliably, your scores will go up again. Watch Tackett's ball motion on his spares, almost no rotation at all - that's ideal; or more end over end rotation, somewhat more like Belmonte if you roll two-handed.
Captain Ricco is there any league that bowls before your league? That could be another reason your scores aren’t as high because the oil is moved around.

With all due respect that two handed delivery ruins the game.
With all due respect, every sport develops as people find new ways to get better and better. This is no different than any other sport.
I 100% disagree and I would respectfully like to ask why you think that is the case. I honestly want to know why people take issue with it.
You realise at the bottom of the swing he releases it with only one hand touching the ball? Two hand approach but one hand release.
People think the 2 handed style makes it easier. Not at all. It's not easy.
This comment is only here to get people commenting lol I bet this person doesn't reply. They never do. Just gets others talking.
