Always check for leaks using a leak detection spray, and regularly check your hoses for wear and tear i.e. cracks chafing or splits, and if there is a leak, either tighten up connections, or replace the neoprene O ring that creates the gas tight seal and / or hose if it is cracked or worn.
You said not to keep in heated areas such as near the cooking stove, what about those gas where the burners is attached to the cylinder itself??😢😢 My friend just died from that as i'm writing this😭😭
Sorry for the lost, those ones where the burner is attached to the cylinder are designed to be so. The heat from the burner doesn't come down directly to the cylinder. If the cylinder gets heat up via the burner, then that burner is faulty. "If you see something, say something" don't manage things that are not normal as far cooking gas is involved. Thanks.
