- A Devlog about making a Souls Like Game in a month. I did this during the Boss Rush Game Jam. This being my first third person game also proved some challenges.

Making a souls like for a game jam was not a very bright idea, but I tried anyway. I'm pretty happy with the result. Managed to make some fun boss fights. Albeit the game isn't very unique, it doesn't have any mechanic to set it apart from other souls games. But as a learning experience it's good despite that.

DUDE! I LOVE THIS! The clay-motion look is practically made for a soulslike (I especially love the main knight design)! I think you could maybe go full-on "link's awakening mode", that would be the dream - less of a plastic-y look! The music is also AMAZING! Definitely scratches that Blodborne itch for me! This is of course still in need of refinement and some polishing, but this is definitely an uncut gem in my eyes! Coop would be legendary in this game, I imagine! I would LOVE a full or further-developed version of this, I´d certainly pay for it!
Completly agree with this. While it still lacks some polishment (mainly to the fact this was made for a jam), it think you have something with potential here. Hope he keeps working on it and if not it was still nice to watch
I AGREE AS WELL IT'S SO COOL HAS ITS OWN CLEVER THEME! but I wish you make an open world and add parkour mechanics to get around a open world with goblins and other creatures!

I think the soulslike community would go APESHIT for this, it has a MASSIVE amount of potential if the lore is interesting and the gameplay is as fun as it looks

All this in a month as a solo dev is wild! Also, as a someone who has made some music for couple of games, those tracks were kinda banging.
This guy made animations, models, wrote music and sound effects, drew the UI and wrote the code. What a madman
I think you nailed the theme of exchange... the 1v1 combat! It's a constant exchange of damage. Really well done, enjoyed watching this!
i would LOVE to see a full clay knight game with multiple weapons and bosses, i would also like to point out the music lacks alot of personality but this is so impressive for a one month solo project completely modeled and music made all by one dude props 2 u man

Amazing concept of making the style claymation. I haven't seen many games with this style but I think it has just such a nice and unique feel too it. Please make a full game out of this

Looks great, I´d definitely play a full version of this! As for the "Exchange" theme: Since your characters are clay models, this could maybe also have an impact on the gameplay. Imagine if instead of leveling up via points, you can choose from the clay body parts of defeated bosses and literally exchange them with your own, boostin certain stats or giving special moves and abilities depending on which body part you choose. Having to choose from different options also gives great replay value to your game since your build can differ greatly as you accumulate more and more powered up parts with each boss. That would be amazing to see!
this is immensely impressive. great programming (and its super difficult), made phenomenal art, interesting sounds, intuitive gameplay, music, etc. i can only hope to be as good as this guy some day!

very nice video! A cool idea for the theme of "exchange" would be to either take the boss's body for armor their weapon or their heart/mind which could be some cool ability relating to the boss!

Clay is a really well chosen style, it provides some interesting and fun idea and bad jokes (such as "claymore") for the game, i also wanna see a full version as short DS1 satire.
i'm loving this proyect, and if you're planning to make a full version, please add more stats level up and weapons, like greatswords, ultra greatswords, katanas, spears, halberds, and even spells
basically, making this project a fully made souls

If you do end up making it a full game, it would be super cool if pieces of clay fell off the knight and would stay in the arena until you healed which would attract them back to you.
