This entire album (The Joshua Tree) is so iconic it's ridiculous. 25million copies sold worldwide. Just a masterpiece of music, I don't care about labels or genres.
Definatley not masterpiece. Whole album is based on 4 chord progression. Achtung Baby is much more significant in terms of pushing boundaries.
@@MrCold012 apparently you and I have a different definition of a musical masterpiece- and lets be clear that subjectivity is and will always be the foundation of categorizing music from any perspective-here it is just in case: A musical masterpiece is a piece of music that captures in some fundamental and essential way something about music and ourselves. It speaks to us. Or do you believe that a masterpieces only validation is that it be complex?
@@MrCold012 naw, hes right man. This is their best album. Sometimes less is more, and here is a prime example.
I prefer Achtung Baby but this IS a masterpiece.
@@BongEyedBastard Oh man, Achtung is a fantastic album too!
We went from assessing a U2 song to having a couples therapy session lol
Brother Vin.
Please go back and watch the Pearl Jam "Black" reaction video (over and over).
Focus on Sori's reaction to Eddie's lyrics and passion. This is - at least in part - what she wants for and from you.
@Dominus Hydra Vin doesn't own her... Nor do any "people"
@@richardjames6087 thats cool
@@Sylvestror lol wat
Not a huge fan of U2 but this guy is way off the mark......the Lady has a real grasp in terms of trying to interpret but he is so condescending
Hey Alan, Vin has 7 songs on his iPod !
He doesn’t get anything that would be considered classic rock. He once referred to The Stones as some weird little band. If it’s not Korn or Tool, it doesn’t get through. So much for that Beatles band or the Led Zeppelins!
They should have done BULLETS IN BLUE SKY. That is my favorite U2 song and I'm not the biggest fan of theirs. Totally underrated.
Henry TheGreatAmerican that’d be Bullet the Blue Sky. Yes it’s a very good song.
I used to hate U2 with a passion growing up. Always hearing their songs on the radio or MTV. But as i've gotten older and they haven't been in my life much i actually like their music.
The problem is basically Vin looks at A Beautiful Day and believes it’s an amazing song when it’s meh. He listens to a really great song (With Or Without You) and is stuck trying to justify his preconception that he won’t like it as much as A Beautiful Day. Meanwhile, Sori listens intently and feels the music, reacts to the lyric and delivery, and gives an honest emotional reaction. Then Vin proceeds to tell us how smart he is proving he’s a windbag while the one with the real intelligence sits to his right. She has emotional intelligence in spades which I’m sure comes in handy when living with a KIA.
Beautiful Day Is Piss
This is a Masterpiece
Give your lady love, drop the arrogance, listen to her, hug her. Don't do what I did. It was too late when I realized my defects. 10 years gone like that. It'll hit you like a ton of bricks. Peace
This sounds eerily familiar.......
"Gender equality"- you're doing and promoting/saying it wrong. Both should equally do, why does the extra responsibility have to fall onto ONLY the man and why should women be treated with specuially privelaged/entitled kid gloves
Sori is right and Vin you're over thinking the verbiage. Its about being in love with someone and giving them all of you while she or he gives you nothing back
When Sori closes her eyes and let's the music take her away...that says it all.
Known and listened to this song since 1987, a million times... still gives me goosebumps.
Oh wow, that Christian humility really shining through in these few recent videos.
Gold comment lol
So basically vin bagged out over 90% of their viewer base that called him out on his ignorance on the John Lennon video. Well done. Remember Vin thought Lennon was still alive and wanted to do a interview with him.
Oh shit!, did he? Hahahahaha!!
Lmao, yeah. Biggest fail i've seen on a reaction channel
Vinnie mac knows a lot about a lot of stuff which is why i stick around cause most of the time his take on stuff is interesting BUT he cant take critisism very well lol. Instead of accepting it and learn from it he'll tell you to show him how you do it on your channel or some silly shit like that.
We all make mistakes, calm down :)
I can't stand the song "Imagine." Never liked it. Too dam slow, simple and boring and I just don't see the so-called "genius" behind it at all. Or basically anything Lennon did solo. Too much Yoko influencing him. And they played it so dam much when he died it turned to actual hatred of the song for me. I really wonder if he hadn't had died just before or after it was released if anyone would even remember the song. That being said to say you know next to nothing about him and this iconic song is silly if you're going to review anything by him. Might be a product of them doing so many reviews in a week and not doing any or very little research of the artist or the group before or during the reaction. The sudo like-hearted but introspective approach they take to all their reactions and how they go off on tangents as they do I actually like a lot but "sometimes" they maybe could at least wiki what they are reacting too as they react like "Soul Train Bro "does so they are not totally clueless.. But geez stop getting so butt hurt over his ignorance. They are allowed their opinion. Which is refreshing because not many reacters actually ever say they don't like something. This is for fun and should not be taken so seriously. I too was amazed that they knew so little about Led Zeppelin and didn't like Dream Theater that much. But get over it or move on. I feel in general they are very entertaining.
the literal breakdown of every line of a song in their reactions drives me bananas. there is such a thing as a universal lyric. the idea of using symbolism and imagery to enable every listener to relate. this album was listened to by people of all ages from countries all around the world. and bono knew it too as evidence of the tracks being about universal themes like love, war, drugs and faith.
i saw U2 on the 1987 Joshua Tree tour. it was 95,000 of us singing along with the songs in unison. i have been to a ton of concerts and live sporting events in my life but nothing rivaled that night.
Over analysis of the song. It's been said this song could have a double meaning. Is he singing about a woman or is he talking about the Catholic Church? Think about it. Some of their songs did deal with the church or faith. The October and War albums are good examples. This turned into couples therapy.
Still sulking about the imagine video I see Vin. Most of the comments were on point. Time for some reflection, being vulnerable isn’t necessarily a weakness and it sure beats arrogance
So true. Some think being a bully is powerful and being a caring person is weak wrong on both accounts
And being vulnerable, even weak in fact, is what God asks from us in front of him. It's the route where he can do things through us to help others.
Ok. Sori. You feel music!
You are great!
From now on. I will only listen to Sori's reaction. LOL.
This episode is brought to you by Carl’s Home Furnishings. When you have to sleep on the couch try sleeping on a comfy sofa from Carl’s Home Furnishings.
Carl ain't got anything on the Sofa King!
I like Pride (In the Name of Love), I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and Sunday Bloody Sunday (Live at Red Rocks) from U2.
I agree with your song suggestions. Especially Sunday Bloody Sunday. Also may I suggest New Year's Day
@@coreykatz5060 Also a great one.
You forgot "One"
May I also suggest 'I still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' and "All I Want is You'
@@ScottT248 I did say I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.
Let Sori do the reactions, and you can do your arrogant preaching on your own, in a closet.
Lmfao
Sori feels the music and offers a heart felt opinion.Vin tries to dismiss her opinion on the song and influence her opinion. As long as its his opinion coming out of her mouth he is fine with it.And what is this "needy", stuff? It is just about love period, good with the bad.
Not stupid but clearly showed your prejudices with the "imagine" reaction. Also not knowing Lennon was dead......that wasn't smart! We all have em.
Vin mistakes intelligence for knowledge and wisdom.
Yo mo - this is a U2 reaction. Please let’s bury the corpse of John Lennon, eeerrrr, I mean bury that discussion.
@@alanhembra2565 ha, was gonna give you the benefit of the doubt, but nah you ARE a prick. I will do what the fuck i want.
He didn't know Lennon was dead??? Come on! 😂😂😂
I've said before, He assumes way too much .
I'm starting to lose faith that these are genuine reactions. Y'all have been picking some iconic songs lately that i have a hard time believing anyone hasn't heard.
Yeah, a little con goin’ on.
marc haik of course. They’re lying sobs
Finally people are realizing this!
true, very true
Yep, unless they were living in the middle of the desert with no civilization at all!!
Can we just have Sori do the reactions. Most of the time vin has no idea what he’s talking about. Just because you were into Korn a few years ago doesn’t mean you know everything about metal and it’s sad that sori listens to everything you say as gospel. Sorry vin but you don’t know shit and sori, you need to stop listening to him, he is very naive.
Yes, Sori you don't need this man, or anyone, to control your thoughts. It is sad to watch. You are more insightful than you think. I know how you were raised, I hope one day in your life you will break away from people controlling you and be able to experience true freedom. It's a wonderful thing.
Remember when he said Slipknot - Scissors was a rip-off of Korn - Daddy? Both Slip and Korn had the same producers. He also said Disturbed - Prayer wasn't a good song because he said the riff was extremely simple, but when Sori asked him to play it he never did, lol.
Sori has a more open mind than vin. Strange really when sori was more of the recluse.
@G-Funk 1 LOL fuck, no i didn't.
Vin can be a dick, but Sori's an adult. She doesn't need to be told who she should or shouldn't listen to.
My advice to Vin dont do more of these type of songs youre abviously not into it and youre take on this type of music is way off
He was spot on with his remark that U2 was the blueprint for the evangelical "Revival" music of the 0s. It's messianic kitsch, so easy to swallow that you can't help but fall for it. But empty, like all kitsch.
Gern Wind Completely agree.
Rock singers and messiah complexes seem to go hand in hand.
IMHO, some pull it off pretty well (Bono) while others make me nauseous (Scott Stapp).
I believe Chris Cornell wrote "Jesus Christ Pose" about the most cringy frontmen.
Yeah mate, your arrogance has become way too much of a turn off, the accompanying smugness only cements it. Enjoy your slither of fame while it lasts, your ego’s gonna bring it all down.
he made this song to his wife! cause at that moment in the 80s the u2 were working a lot and he didnt have time enough to see her, to be with her. so, for this reason he made this song! and he and his wife are still together nowadays. and the have been together since they were 14! they met each other at school.
Sori, you deserve so much better than Vin.I have a feeling you fell for his intelligence.Watching him do these videos with you over the past months shows how unaffectionate and closed minded to your opinions and feelings he is towards you.Vin has some deep problems he needs to work out.
Dont judge her choice mate.but overall you are right though vin always talk about being openminded he is so closeminded
I have certainly gotten annoyed at him talking over her and dismissing her ideas continually.
From just a handful of times watching their reactions, and listening to,Vin, and him referencing his religious upbringing. That influence is the biggest fault to his character. Not knocking religion at all, but A LOT of "religious" people are THE WORST judgemental, self-righteous and close-minded people to walk the planet!! Vin is a textbook example of this! So stereotypically accurate, especially in this case.
@@christopherhmt859 Methinks the dude protests too much. It's a tell.

I commented months ago on Vin and Sori’s Facebook page that Vins arrogance was going to bring this channel down. This video and the Imagine reaction just proved my point.Vin is burning down the village..lmao!
Yeah I don't see anything in the lyrics of the song coming from her. It is coming entirely from his perspective regarding her
$4000 FOR A COMPUTER AND POOR SORI HAS NO FORKS IN HER KITCHEN!!!!!!!!!!! WTF???!!! 😐
Love U2!! You need to listen to I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For
I forgot what song you were reviewing.
Guys is this a reaction vid or a relationship vlog ?
I'm starting to wonder if they know Stairway to Heaven at least...
I'm surprised they don't know most songs. I feel like they lie lol.
Yeah really…. 😅😂🤣
I thought everyone in the world had heard this song. For something different from U2 I suggest Numb.
I personaly don't like arrogant people, Vin. Just saying.
Stay (Far Away, So Close) or Til The End Of The World by U2. Both awesome.
YES ! either or both would be fine.
Hands down, one of the best songs ever written!
This album was unbelievably successful. It pretty much sky rocketed them to international superstardom.
Yes, and it happened long before the Internet as well, so it's much more impressive.
Today, artists may sell more, but it means nothing. Stars are no longer looked up to like they were in the 80s or even 90s.
Today, artists are simply people to insult personally on Twitter. There's no divide between them and the public. The magic is gone.
U2 is one of the greatest groups ever..if you don't like them, you don't like music.
Thanks for reacting to this. U2 is one of my favourite ever bands. And the tone that The Edge gets on that guitar wow!
That look that vin gave sori when: "i can't live with or without you" was precious!
Hi Vin and Sori ! May i suggest 'Ligntening crashes' by Live ?
Thats a good one. Not many reactions to that one.
Vin will hate that
LIVE great band!! Too under rated
👌🏼
Oh yeah. I love that song. Please guys
Vin appears in public for the first time after he dared upset boohootube by not liking a song....Only to step into the mind of a pregnant wife who doesnt feel “contacted” enough lol 😂 ...Vin run back into hiding ...Imagine theres no living With or Without You ...
yo guys i love you both but i'm not a therapist or a counselor so i didn't sign up for this video
I love the sound of U2 and the memories of living thru those years. Wonderful band to have back then. Had to of been there vin.
You would love One, please vote for them to do One people. I’m glad you liked this one though, is not my favorite U2 song but definitely a good one.
Loved, just loved the exchange and how we can see your relationship you guys, lots of us can relate. 😊
Here's an interesting interpretation :
This song is about a man who's torn between his predictable love for a woman who promises to always be by his side , the "good woman" (wife or girlfriend) and his fatal attraction for the other woman "the dark lady" who he can't have. She is unavailable (married or in a relationship) which makes his love for her all the more unpredictable and unattainable. She also seems to be unhappy in her current situation.
I think this song is an ode to the "dark lady" even though most comments seem to interpret it from the point of view of the "good woman".
"Stone set in your eyes": Her eyes are lifeless due to her unhappy situation.
"Thorn twist in your side": She is stuck and unable to make a move. If she does, the consequences can be irreparable.
The man feels that he has to ultimately choose between the two women.
"Sleight of hand and twist of fate": things happen very quickly and unpredictably just like a card trick. It also alludes to deception towards one or both women.
"On a bed of nails she makes me wait": she keeps him forever on hold, unable to decide on what to do and the waiting is killing him slowly.
"Through the storm we reach the shore. You give it all but I want more": He and the "dark lady" attempt to make it work and they almost succeed at it but he realizes that he wants all of her which she can't give him.
"And you give yourself away": The "dark lady" is wasting away in her current relationship.
"My hands are tied, My body bruised, she's got me with Nothing to win and Nothing left to lose": The man is also suffering from the fact that his "dark lady" is not making a decision as to whether she will leave her current situation to be with him or not. He has nothing to win because he knows that he will never have her and nothing left to lose because he knows that she's the one he really wants to be with.
"I can't live With or without you": He can't live with her because of the circumstances thrust upon them and he can't live without her because she's the one he needs and wants to be with.
Anyone who has to state 'I am not stupid' is probably stupid.
I'm gonna say "definitely".
Anybody who calls themselves "shadowfax" is probably stupid.
You aren't stupid but you are arrogant, you didn't apologize once about what you said about John and laughing about the people that try to correct you politly isn't very polite either.
Gabriel Berilli - John Lennon was a joke so he’s right to laugh.
@Alan Hembra u are a joke
He wasn't impressed with Lennon, why should he apologize about anything. And what he said about Imagine was spot on. I happen to like the song anyway.
NEWSFLASH ! ELVIS IS DEAD
Guys, you can almost call U2 a Catholic/Christian band. They have strong religious undertones and themes to their music.
I refuse to believe you haven't heard this before.
A little factoid: Whenever they play this song live, they'll usually mash it up with a cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division. Bono was in the studio when Joy Division was recording that song, and he was so moved by the lyrics and by Ian Curtis's performance that he was immediately a fan. And he was devastated when Ian committed suicide, so he always pays homage by performing the two songs together.
the doors - riders of the storm
Has this guy seriously never heard a U2 song other than Beautiful Day? How is that possible? U2 has been one of the biggest bands in the world for nearly 40 years.
U2 - Angel of Harlem
U2 - Stay (Faraway, so Close)
Woah! I'm not sure I'm ready to see those get butchered.
Check our Soul Train Bro's reactions. He's not very animated in his reactions, but his open mindedness and his intuition about the songs meanings are usually very accurate! Plus he's not annoyingly judgmental. He takes each song in the context of itself without basing it on a comparison of how he feels about another track of that artist. Very articulate dude.
conrad98gtp love his channel.Just wish he would delve into heavier music.
@@darrellwood3913 Yeah, me too, but he keeps them all in a organized kind of parameter. Vin kind of kills me most of the time with his kind of idealistic point of view.
conrad98gtp what I like about him is how he has an ear for the instruments. He reacts to the whole spectrum of the music.Vin might like music but he can’t articulate the whole spectrum of a song because he doesn’t have the experience with music the way soultrain bro or someone like myself and others do.
@@darrellwood3913 I totally agree! As a guitar player myself, I really take note of the instrumentation of the whole band.
He's talking to jesus. This is not a relationship with a girl Its with jesus who never shows up but he's willing to wait...maybe for nothing.
Was wondering when you were going to do a U2 reaction video ! Then a Couples Therapy Session broke out, lol.
Vin, I can assure you U2 have waaayyy better songs than "it's a beautiful day". That song is probably one of their weaker ones. Even on that album I barely consider it the 3rd best song ("walk on" and "elevation" are superior).
"Mysterious Ways", "End of the World", "One", "Sunday Bloody Sunday", "Pride", "Angel of Harlem", "Bad" (NOT the studio version, but the LIVE version from the music video that even radio prefers to play and is considered the playlist version of the song).
If you want to do a video reaction of theirs, just ask me. I know some perfect ones that your audience will enjoy.
Happened to see U2 at the Pop Tour in the late 90's. Been loving them since the mid 80's.
U2 are a "self proclaimed" christian band - many of their songs have religous undertones. listen to U2 - "Where The Streets Have No Name" one of the greatest DRIVING ROCK BALLADS ever with a GUITAR-SOLO-INTRO-CRESCENDO that will blow your socks off............you're welcome :)

Amazing song!!!!!!!
Muse covering it live with The Edge is pretty epic.
He won't get it great song wasted on a nonlistener
The album version is fantastic (that intro!), but most live versions - especially R&H - are beyond words.
The whole album. One of my top twenty. I think it has lot of Christian undertones in the lyrics. Double meanings etc.
Novembers Doom - Autumn Reflection

Interesting tidbit, 10+ years ago, i was bouncing at a local bar. A girl i went out with the night before stopped to see me there, while i was working. A cover band was playing, and they closed with this. The lights were darkened, fog machines filled the area, it was slow, it was gentle, it was something that felt "too strong" for the 2nd time i was seeing this girl. Our hands came together, fingers laced as i struggled to protect the bar while wondering what the hell was happening.
I married this girl 5 years later. This became our song because it was the first *moment* we shared together, and it became our first dance at our wedding. And now, february 2019, we're together for 10 years, 2 months, and expecting our first child this september.. True story :)
And yet, still i cant request Akercocke - "Shelter From The Sand" and have it played because im not a patron. Also, a true story :P
u2 red hill town that amazing song
U2, easily top 10 of all time in any style of music, try "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"
Holy shit, kinda felt like I was intruding on some heavy relationshipping here. Pretty real though, good stuff.
Joshua Tree is what I call a mega album. A culture mover. It turned U2 into global superstars. Well over 25 million albums sold it's been re-issued twice. It was a turning point for the band as they also radically changed their sound. Every track on it is solid. Vin and Sori in my opinion this is one of the albums that you should do a live track by track listening reaction to. It's fucking astounding. And watching them live on that tour and n 87? Mind-blowing.
You owe me $100 for this session lol.
Yeah all those photos of all that physical contact sure seems like a good idea. I bet Dirk is happier than a pig in shit thinking about all those Vin & Sori Lovey Dovey Bedtime Pics you'll be releasing. Plan on setting up a Snap account too for $100 on Patreon?

They have no idea they’re talking about an iconic band. Starting in 1983 with the single “Sunday Bloody Sunday over the course of 20 years U2 has been influential. FYI... this is from the album Joshua Tree, U2 wrote and recorded the album in the Southern California desert. The song With Or Without you is about the difficulty his marriage experienced when U2 became popular and started touring around the world.
Train wreck on the way
From the 1987 album Joshua Tree. This was a seminal album for many people, including me. The album, in order, tells a beautiful story. I strongly recommend listening to the whole album :) It was a massive hit for U2.
Vin I told you you to hug her just after the GNR video ..that's why you should read CZcams comment...life advice...
I love how they play it live, when Bono would bring a random woman on stage, and serenade her with this song. Great reaction
Would be interesting to see your reaction to Until the end of the World by U2. Great song written from the point of view of Judas
No religious songs for this Christian nut, please.
Unless we want to see a meltdown.
Interesting how music can evoke intense reactions and even unveil relational conflict!!! Right there on the reaction video screen! Reality TV.
Shiiiit, relationships are so exhausting.
Nah, just the ones where your partner constantly gaslights you and wants to be right all the time while also wanting all the attention for himself. But there are healthy relationships and couples, however you don't see them airing their knickers on youtube.
Yes pal, it's all good if both people are chill.
From the album Joshua Tree, arguably one of the greatest albums ever made. Every song is a masterpiece.
Jinjer - Who Is Gonna Be The One (live)
I saw U2 Zoo tour concert in Columbia, SC. Public Enemy opened for them. What a strange concert. In the end, I loved the U2 show. It was a lot of fun.
Arrogant and passive aggressive
This song was released as a single from The Joshua Tree, 1987's biggest Rock album, one of the biggest selling albums ever. and one of the most important album of the 80s, probably the 80s mirror to Marvin Gaye's 'what's Going On', reflecting on society like few could. This Grammy winning album is one of the most important in the the history of Rock, and back then, With or without You was 'the' song to relate to. It reached the top of the charts in 3 countries, and was a huge hit worldwide. It's one of the greatest songs of all time, as listed by Rolling Stone magazine. (U2 were featured on the cover of TIME magazine following it's release - before the album reached planetary success ).
Ignorance baffles me sometimes.
Nice song!
Now Anesthetize, need to reivindicate Porcupine Tree!
Vin and SOri guess what. U2 are a Christian Band, They started off as one and they incorporate Scripture and Christian Themes into a lot of their songs for a reason. They wanted to bridge the gap with pop music and God. Its beautiful how they did it. And they wanted to use the currency of their fame and money to help people. I love what you two do on your channel to by the way ! GBU
Moonspell - Night Eternal
I cant live with you.
I cant live without you. Thats exactly why she resonates so much with the song.
And yeah i love this song
If you’re going oldies how about Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits) - Brothers In Arms (London 1996)???
9:25 Well it makes sense with them being the biggest rock group on the world, especially at the time. They also do a LOT for charity if that means anything.

I don't get the "roles in a relationship" comment. Like wtf? Someone, please help me with that. My brain kinda shorted out trying to listen to the bs (mostly from Vin) in this conversation lol.
Edit: I do like Vin, but still...
There's nothing to understand, except for the misogyny and condescension.
Apparently, women are too "fragile" to handle doing any heavy lifting in a couple so that all falls upon the shoulders of modern-day atlas Vin. I mean in a normal equal relationship you'd think people would take turns to being 'the strong one' when the other isn't and they carry each other through tough times but you know... christians get their gender roles from Paul, a notorious misogynist.
@Reds Fan
Wow lol. And she's the one who's easily manipulated? Sure dude... sure. Is the irony of you calling her a "Man-Hating Cunt", using the phrase "Commie Nutbag", and assuming how she feels about Alexandria Ocasio Cortez while at the same time implying that you are a logical thinker not lost on you? If you are male your comment proves that being overly emotional is not just a woman thing.
Side note: Why did you reply to me and not her directly?
@Reds Fan sweetie, you seem really emotional lmao. Maybe go to the kitchen and do some dishes in order to cool off.
“You give yourself away”, means that the partner is sharing the intimacy of themselves with other people. It’s not “sexual”. It’s not “physical”. It’s the “understood” “bond” between two people that have to ride out this “bullshit” together.......And when you share “THAT” with your partner, it’s glorious.......Obviously, the artist’s partner didn’t see it the same way.......Hence, “With or without you”.......Two people in true love, will know each other in a way that no one else will ever know. That’s why it’s SO cherished. The song is about ONE who understood that, while the other wasn’t as emotionally invested.
Slayer - Repentless
Wayyyy better Slayer out there than anything on Relentless , The Music Video is cool though .
Sori is smarter than Vin, and Vin is too full of himself to realize it. It's comical.
