Notice how there are four chains on each shrine? Every time you remove two stakes, a chain disappears. It’s a detail in this game that I appreciate. Another detail I appreciate is that these guys are based off the Four Perils of Chinese mythology! And the Scarlet/Violet soundtrack proves once again it is a treasure of its own with this battle theme…the Tunak Tunak Tun of Pokémon 😂. I love the fact they gave us Chinese legendaries and the most Japanese Pokémon like Tatsugiri and Kingambit in the Iberian-themed region. But now knowing the lore behind the legendaries, it now makes sense, and the idea of a Chinese Pokémon region is amazing.
Infernape would aleady fit in a Chinese themed region, I wonder if we can also see a continuation of these legendaries in such a game.

I absolutely love these mons designs as well. I just gotten into scarlet finally after years of taking a break from the newer gens. Had such a good time I copped sword cause I wanted a Zacian more than anything.. lol but I’ve seen so many people struggle to catch some of these guys? Just go at night and use a dusk ball. Caught all of them within 6 turns. The snow leopard I caught on my second throw 🤯🤯
Wo-Chien's name is a combination of 蜗/wō (snail) and 簡/jiǎn (bamboo slips). Bamboo slips were used in China for writing documents before paper was introduced. Its idea comes from a Chinese idiom, 罄竹难书 (qin zhu nan shu), describing people with so much sin that even using all the bamboo to make tablets wouldn't be enough to record all of their wrongdoings.
Chien-Pao's name is a combination of 劍/jiàn (sword) and 豹/bào (leopard). Chien-Pao connects to warmongering and alludes to 虎符/hǔfú (tiger tally), the proof of imperial authorization in ancient China for implementation of troop orders.
Ting-Lu's name is a combination of 鼎/dǐng (an ancient Chinese cauldron) and 鹿/lù (deer). This also refers to two different idioms, 问鼎(wen ding) and 逐鹿(zhu lu). Dating back to the Warring States period (around 300 BC), both of these words mean over ambition and hunger for power.
Chi-Yu's name is a combination of 鯽魚/jìyú (goldfish) and 玉/yù (jade). Something many don't know, goldfish actually come from China! During the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD), it was very popular for the rich to keep them in ornamental ponds. Jade is also historically a symbol of wealth.
Are the names pronounced differently then how they are spelled? I think Chien would be either pronounced like "G-yan" or "G-N".
Edit: Nvm, it's pronounced exactly how it is spelled.

Chien-Pao is definitely my favorite and catching these legendaries was pretty easy.
Actually the bluestake in the area where the snow starts to melt make so much sense. It’s for the fire treasure of ruins after all. (Imagination 100)
I caught all four Treasures of Ruin in Dusk Balls. Also, the Pokémon's "bodies" are actually just constructs of their respective elements, and their actual bodies are the treasures themselves.
You get a sub just for the simple fact that you knew how to lock the map facing north. You have no idea how long or bad this has bothered me. Thank you. I'm sure it was mentioned in the game, but maybe I missed it.
I love Chien Pao, the fact its a snow leopard is cool too
Fun fact: the colors of the shrines signify the ruinous Pokemon's weaknesses.

I remember reading someone's post about this a while back, and I thought it was neat.
Encanto the movies house looks like a combo of Professor Magnolias house and the Paldeas house. The vine on the Professors house curves up and splits just like the one on Encato.
So glad you used what is, in my personal opinion, the best music in the game. Left it on the fight for a bit with the last of the pokemon just so I could listen to it.
I like the saber tooth tiger Legendary, too.

Chein-Pao is definitely my favorite. I love the sleek look it has and the cry it has sounds so cool! Definitely be one I'd have on my team!
I was picking them up as I went along, but there were a few that I couldn't find. I've been waiting for this for a WHILE. (I know I probably could've just Googled it or something, but why do that when his tutorials for the wisps and whatnot were so helpful.)

Here's the thing when I was catching Wo-chien. took forever and I didn't want to risk using my Phoenix ( Talonflame) ability Flame body trigger. I had to fight twice ( 1 reset) to catch it. It took alot of my different PokeBalls ( except the one I obtain filling my Pokedex) to finally caught it.

So these ancient Pokémon is basically kinda like Rayquaza in Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. Where if you was to defeat it it'd just sit waiting there and forces you to battle it all over again until you catch it! Cool! (Mainly because Rayquaza is also part of the Deoxys story!)
FYI the pattern in the area zero ruins where roaring moon is...shows the locations of the 4 ruinous pokemon if overlayed on the map the points of the squares if you line up the edge lined the right way
Did you know if you kill a ruin it goes back into the shrine but you need to wait for it to revive

I caught the first legendary with a quick ball.
I'm not shocked, I'm pretty sure I got lucky with Wo-Chien too since I caught it with a Quick Ball I can't recall the other Ruinous quartet but there was 2 that I caught with a Quick Ball

Honestly, Breloom with Spore and false swipe is better. Get a Shroomish to level 40 so it can learn spore then evolve it and then you are good to go.

Chien-Pao is my favorite ,with Chi-Yu as my second favorite. I caught Chien-Pao with a Luxury Ball, which took a while, but worth it. And Chi-Yu, lol.. I caught in a Dive Ball. I threw some just for a laugh. I guess it approved of the ball, even though it’s a fire type, lol! Wo-Chien kind of grew on me, after seeing some memes about it. It looks like it’s judging you. 😂 and Ting-Lu is my least favorite as well. Though I like the typing of it.
