This week at the chateau, Tracy & Tony tackle fitting the coving up in the bathroom, but with the tricky angles need a little help from Terry. Tony puts the finishing touches in the spare bedroom ready form guests in the next week.
Tony, Graham and Jonathan make some raised planters for the vegetable garden to help with this years vegetables.
Tracy, Terry & Ash do a little more work on the rockery, and place some of the beautiful plates the lads got Tracy for mother's day, and the family plant a beautiful cherry blossom tree at the start of the new entrance road for the chateau.
and finally, its a very special day at the chateau today, Tony the work horse turns 60 years young.

About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

A very big Happy 60th Birthday to you Tony and a belated Happy Mother's Day Tracy. Love tye coving and the side shelving. The cherry tree and rock garden are beautiful. I just loved the dog and chickens checking everything out and the close ups of the flowers and butterflies were awesome. As well loved the background music. So happy you are coming along so nicely. Tracy you deserve the first bath! Maybe you can get Tony to wash your back for you. Get your candles, scented oils bath bombs, and a good book ready!
With the music and the two and four-legged “helpers,” that planting montage was straight out of a Disney movie! 😂😂
I am recovering from knee surgery, so have had nothing to do but to watch all your episodes. So great to see how Tracy has become more and more comfortable in front of the camera. What a beautiful family. Wishing you all the very best❤️

A suggestion about the new tree - take away the sod/grass from the base - grass steals a great deal of moisture and nutrients from the base of a tree, or in fact any plant. Just a nice circle of soil or mulch around the trunk will do. Good luck !!

Don't forget to water that beautiful tree once a week for the first year as it establishes itself with the growth of new roots. Loved watching you put up the coving as that's a job I've got to do this year, thankyou x and I'm looking forward to the day when I see your new additions strutting around like only majestic peacocks can! Keep up the good work xx

I love how the dog had to contribute to the construction and be in the middle of the action. That is some quality control.

I have to say that when you put up the wallboards in the bathroom I saw how well their colour suited the stone walls already there. I agree that you should choose a colour of paint that is close to it.
