  • The trip mine is one of the most underrated equipment in Halo 3. Here is a video on how to effectively use it.

Sick. A clean and concise old-school-style guide and I welcome it wholeheartedly. Refreshingly informative and not at all patronizing or alternatively motivated. Keep up the niche work, Spartan! Don't let the inevitable bottle-necking of views discourage you from making cool stuff like this. Solid voice-over, practical clips. It's methodical and tight, with just enough of a personal touch, but not so much that it wastes anyone's time who's only looking for a simple effective guide.
One thing I will say is, your record scratch intro, which I liked a lot because I was legitimately not expecting flavor, was a little flat, and as such it was lacking in some much needed um-mph to help give the following video some momentum to sustain itself on. I love the simplistic style though, so don't let my criticism detract from that at all. The less time in the edit for something so straight forward, the better. I envision some slide transitions between the chapter cuts if you want to add flair without getting more form over function. Maybe even a subtitle to sort of "bake" the tips into the visuals rather than relying entirely on audio, although with auto-generated subtitles that might be a little unnecessary. Saves time though. Like a heading with flavor and padding text below it that might be less necessary for someone pressed for time. Basically, anything to visually indicate you are moving from chapter to chapter would be nice. A little swipe to the left and a bottom right or left aligned heading would do the trick. Don't get too complicated though. Just some clean white text, maybe in a Halo-adjacent font, subtly shadowed so it isn't unintentionally blending into the background. Super simple. If not, it's totally your call on how little or how much work you want to do and I don't blame you at all for keeping it simple. Time is precious and editing video can be a hugely liberating and creative endeavor, but other times you can get caught up and it quickly becomes unnecessarily draining. I would say trust me, but it looks like you've already got the idea. Anyway, gotta cut it short. Good luck! Great stuff! :D

Wow, thank you so much for the comment. I appreciate the time you took to type all that.
I do agree though, the editing itself is very basic, just clips put together with audio. And I need to be less monotone when I talk lol.
I don’t really have too much time to edit so I don’t really get fancy with it. But it’s something I should definitely try doing for the future so I can add my own flavor to the video itself. I will work on that better.
Again, thank you so much for your comments.

@@InfraredOptics oh wow you’re right, a nade right after the trip mine definitely would secure the kill, and same I miss the good ol days. MCC Halo 3 isn’t bad though, it still is a lot of fun.
