Your Tundra's step requires practice, I have found that if you stand forward of the step's down position and push rearward with your foot, it will lower down easily. Will you putting a step on the Tacoma as well? 🤷🏼♂️ I would not be without mine.
Stand on the other side of the Bed Step, facing the back of the truck; and place your foot on the back side of the Bed Step and press downward and it will come down very easy. You are trying to open it backwards - Easy mistake! (I bought the Rough Country Bed Mat for my 2023 Tundra)

You have to push the step from front to rear with your foot. Stand on side of truck and kick it back

Rob, put your foot further back. Not in the front; the bed step will come down way easier. You don't need to use your hands.

Nope, no step for the Tacoma.
You have to go settings on the front to set up the “step up” every time you open the tailgate i will come out automatically.
Bed mat is a must
Looks a little more glossy and smoother than an OEM bed mat.
