I travelled from Edinburgh to Kingston-upon-Hull, circa Autumn 1971, searching for work. Via Serendipity, I soon met my Darling Mary (then residing in Westbourne Avenue). I was in Hessle Homes which robbed me of my childhood due to the AGGRESSIVE CANE (Bamboo) wielding superintendent who was an absolute bully . I was his whipping boy as my mum was dead due to the war and my dad was in Willerby due to shock, he was a submariner during WW1 and was at the Battle of Jutland. Later on in life as a grown six foot six inch 17stone Marine, I paid the bully a visit, I am glad he would not answer the door as I would later have been sent to Hull Prison
I've lived in west Hull for approx 10 Years now & I suffer TERRIBLY from "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome"/ME/Fibromyalgia/"Severe Mental Impairment" (TIREDNESS) & its VERY hard/Next to Impossible to get decent carers & make friends in this place... :( - Even in the veterans/ex-army community.... :(
