I'm so proud and honored to be a part of Calvary Chapel. Just watching the trailers fills my heart with the spirit and brings tears of joy to my eyes.
The Jesus people movement was huge. I was there as a young 'un.
Same Here - through the years I described it as "THE TIME" for there was Nothing Like It before and it's effects are still here as they continuously change and grow with us -

When I tried to explain my summer bible school teachers from Philly to my kids they crack up laughing. (They were raised in DC burbs) Flower children in the mountains of WV? You bet. Beards, long hair and girls I supplied with leather from my saddles (I was a tomboy) making us love bracelets and all of us poor kids making a massive cross of glass, rocks and shells.
In a holiness area, we were rejected but we built playgrounds, fed elders, sang at hospitals and were taught outdoors on riverbanks, in hollows.
I am 60 years old. I remember every song and play and moment of acceptance. I bonded with city hippies and that's saying something for a horse riding tomboy who was used to doing my praying in the hills.
Storms came and destroyed our orchard. Mom baked a lot of apple pies and fed them in our yard of a big mountain farm. They camped there some nights . Dad, a blues and bluegrass picking WW2 marine played music by torch lights with them, and I got my first crush and soda can ring, of maybe someday when you're grown up acceptance for marriage as a 14 year old with my front teeth knocked out from a touch football game w red hair and freckles. Lordy, such a kindness that 19 year old did by not rejecting or laughing at me. I bloomed late lol.
What can I say, but that the media idea of hippie vs vets (my dad being a big cowboy and commander of the VFW) is such a narrow and skewed view of America and it's fly over and unique towns in the 60s and 70s..
By the time that summer ended, this churched kid was reading through the bible and dedicated to keeping him as my center no matter where life took me.
Today my daughter is wed to a baptist preacher, my great great grandkids know who God is, and no matter what crisis and griefs and changes, I am so humbled that God saw me then, and saw them, and did his work by the spirit in ways that were unconventional __but necessary. Who knows but him why that Jesus movement summer happened when a small riverbank church of 20 members invited a group from Philly to the deep Appalachian mountains.
Thank God, Jesus sees us everywhere. And God is good, all the time.

So excited to hear Chuck Smiths life story and Greg Laurie’s , I went to Chuck smiths Calvery chapel many years ago, I do miss him preaching .
Oh boy, we CAN'T WAIT! We've been waiting for this story since that first Jesus Revolution Kickstarter campaign. So excited to finally see how this movie will impact people's hearts around the world!

I'm so looking forward to this movie. I love that it has the Calvary Chapel distinctive dove on the trailer automatically too. I attend a Calvary Chapel in Southern California. I hope Greg allows our church to show a trailer of the movie. I'm going to see it on February 24th when it first premieres in the theaters. I hope many Southern California theaters are showing this powerful true story of the Jesus Revolution. I read the book and couldn't put it down, you will need tissues.

If we can return the movement back to its purity and Innocents. Remove the money and politics. Make it's heart the heart of a believer. Then Yeshua (Jesus ) will walk in our footsteps and the Father will flow amongst us.
I had the honor to watch a screening of it and man I tell you, this one should be nominated for an Oscar… it’s different trust me. It’s… it’s… I don’t know the words but it’s def LIFE CHANGING 🥹😭

I was saved in the Jesus Revolution when I was 16. May 17, 1972, and my life has never been the same. I can’t wait to see this movie!!!
Jill, I was a little younger than you, 9 yrs old. However, the Jesus Revolution affected me greatly. I remember wearing a Haynes t-shirt where I had written "Jesus Loves You" and on the back "Jesus is Coming Soon" wearing bell bottoms, mood rings, dyed tshirts, etc. I'd go play basketball with friends, and they'd ask me questions about my shirt. It was an authentic time. Even at my young age, I was worried about our country...Vietnam, civil rights, etc. Our country needs another Jesus movement big time. God always shows up in ways we don't expect and shatters paradigms that have set up social walls. I pray, wait, hope, and watch for Him to do it again.
I am excited to see this movie!

I saw a scene of the film where a character accepts Christ, and the prayer that he prays includes repentance of sin.

So Hollywood is different from all the other frauds that claim to repent everyday, only to keep committing the same sin on a daily basis. People like pretending that God and Jesus are totally clueless.

I think it’s the best they could do, not a lot of actors out their look like Chuck.
REPENT for the Kingdom is at hand. REPENT means doing 180 degree turn from your sins and walking the narrow path. Is this in the movie?
Repent actually means to change one's mind. So when scripture says "repent and believe" it means "change your mind from unbelief to belief." That's why the entire gospel of John can be written without the word Repent and still be the gospel. Because "Repent and believe" and just "believe" are synonymous. If repent has the definition you claim, what do you think was being said when God is mentioned to have repented? (God is said to repent multiple times in scriptures. Do you think God sinned?) And do you think the gospel of John is an incomplete gospel because it doesn't mention repentance? Was Jesus wrong when He said "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but hath everlasting life."? Did Jesus forget to mention repentance there?

It could be Pastor Greg Laurie or one of the other great Calvary pastors that came out of the Jesus movement, miss papa Chuck how much the actor doesn’t look like him I can’t wait for this movie and probably everyone in the Calvary Chapel’s movement

People kind! Accept the Orthodox Faith and become Orthodox Christians, for only in the Orthodox Church is there true salvation. Go every Sunday to the Orthodox Church, and if you want even go every day to the Orthodox Church and in Her be sure to confess your sins before an Orthodox priest every time and after that partake of the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Lord Jesus Christ will forgive and deliver us all from our sins and from our passions.
And by the mercy of the Lord Jesus Christ, He will save us all only through the Orthodox Church if we all confess each time our sins before an Orthodox priest and, after confession, partake of the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and then we will all enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Amen!
Any Remnant here know whats going on with these movies? ecumincal movement etc let me know who understands as this stuff is spreading even into faithful fellowships that lack Discernment .
Brother Mark, I’m not sure you would recognize Jesus if He walked into your room. Remember, the Romans were just tools of the people who really put Jesus on the cross. It was the religious leaders of the day that put Christ on the cross. They were clean on the outside but the inside of their cup was full of grime. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest- Matthew 11:28
I hear you... This is secularism dressed up in Christian language. Apart from the title, I did not hear what Jesus stood for once - repentance and faith in his finished work on the cross. My heart is unsettled. It is about acceptance and unity, happiness and joy... But nothing about that we ought to die to ourselves and will be hated by the world. This is a progressive "Christian" agenda... And sadly that is anything but Christ following.
@@hannahkroon5233 You made your judgment on a four minute video? The Jesus movement lasted at least ten years, with effects lasting to today. Thousands of songs and books and sermons. Do more than four minutes of research before you judge an entire movement.
I think I will have to see the whole movie before deciding how much of the truth is presented. If nothing else, maybe it will give people something to think seriously about...I hope
A lot of sincere people but if you are implying that Sunday law is coming through this emerging movement I agree.

Bringing in HOLLYWEIRD'S into a Christian based Movie ❓ The even the GRAMMY'S don't forsake their IDENTITY.
The Jesus movement had more to do with drugs and error than it did with the biblical gospel and good theology. So, not sure why this is being celebrated so much
It had to do with millions of people coming to faith in Jesus.
@@donmcc6573 people may have been saved, but the movement was born out of theological error and church dictated by the culture. That's not a good thing for the church, it's a rejection of the scriptures authority and sufficiency, and has a casual view of God that negates his character.
Surely millions claim to have faith even you dilute the Christ and the gospel so much that it loses its meaning and offense to the world. Do you not think that is more likely to have false conversions when you're not preaching the biblical Jesus?
