I managed to ignore your slip on DLRs but as soon as you said 'twin turbo' you lost my attention completely. Read a spec sheet, it will buff your credibility.

@@techflow If the engine cover says "Twin Power Turbo" then this is BMW's way of making you think its a true twin turbo when infact its a twin scroll turbo which simply is a single turbo with two scrolls internally that seperate the exhaust gas. Reduces tubo lag but not a true twin turbo.

I have a Mini Cooper that I absolutely adore. I love my car as much as my pets. When I bought her I was looking at a JCW but sadly the bodywork was in poor condition so I ended up with a regular mini cooper. Minis *are* awesome cars, great fun to drive, economic and beautiful.

I can’t wait I just bought a 2019 jcw I’m soo stoked ! I bought it after testing a 2016 cooper s which blew my mind cuase it’s faster than my Audi TT which effing rips! And it’s steering is sharp and precise, I haven’t even driven the jcw but after the cooper s I was sold so this jcw I’m waiting to show up is no doubt going to rock my socks 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

But all I’m waiting on is parts rn and I’ll be on the road in the spring again! Seriously mind bending performance! And the airbags work great fyi 🤷♂️🤦♂️🤣

Really honest review however as a constant watcher of your vlogs I understand how much you love this car, but as a new viewer you are underselling the car!! Why give 3 disadvantages of a car when your trying to sell it to someone, yes I agree cover disadvantages but don’t dwell on them, overall it is a sick car!

Since a week ago, I'd agree with him. An electronic handbrake would be preferable. A manual handbrake in an automatic just feels wrong.
Got to drive the JCW last week with pro tune kit and it’s so much better than standard especially with the pro exhaust
I stopped at twin turbo
This generation MINI does change a lot if you are driving in different modes. Sport mode means, quicker throttle response and stiffer suspension if you have the adaptive suspension.
Re: Gearbox: Its a ZF 8 Speed with GPS shifting. Torque converter box over a dual clutch as in the Golf R. Fwd, RWD or 4WD it doesnt matter. Its a good box but it wont let you change when it doesnt want to. Looking forward to seeing what your bring on board next! :)

I find this so amusing "wish it had an electronic handbrake" - still managed to plow it into the curb and forgot it had a manual handbrake.
I pointed the same thing out about his gear box when that incident happened as no one seemed to know that box doesn't like shifting if it doesn't want to.
Generally, a good video, decent delivery. As others have said - DRL not DLR. Daytime Running Lights - I also stand to be corrected here but I don't think you can 'spec' these - aren't they standard with LED lights? Also the movement of the lights with your steering input is Adaptive LED Headlights which is an optional extra. It's a not a centre console that is 'down' and getting in the way of your click wheel infotainment controller (iDrive in BMWs) it's an armrest. Which BMWs don't have the front windows go the whole way down? Also, the speed limit display on your Head Up Display? That's a Driver Assistant Package not an 'autonomous' car - there is no such MINI (yet!) I don't mean you any ill will with your videos but the lack of knowledge is odd. The steering wheel reach and rake adjustment discovery...You do though have 365k subscribers so you must be doing something right!
Had mine for a year and 2 months now. Still a blast to drive every day. DO NOT SPEC WITHOUT THE TRACK EXHAUST. IT IS A MUST HAVE!

DLRs? They’re called DRLs (daytime running lights). When you said bi turbo, I lost it though. If you’re going to do a review, please check your facts. Also please loose the kenzo shirt during videos. On a positive note: nice editing and videography. Just keep it to tech please.

I am thinking about buying one used probably 2 to 3 years old jCPs are too expensive new. Has it been reliable?
Jcws are reliable cars you just need to do extra research on Turbo engines as certain habits will greatly decrease the life expectancy of your car. Have fun trying to find a used jcw tho, they’re almost nonexistent in my area lol.
B B just got a used one. Still in new condition. So far love it and just been serviced by MINI and they said no issues at all. Good luck

i have a 2003 cooper and all the interior makes creaky noises on bumpy roads which annoys me yours looks so nice man jcw are well worth the extra if your a mini guy
Must have watched this loads and still cant decide whether to go for manual or the auto! Paddles!! My manual JCW R58 is fun but fancy a change in transmission !

Great JCW reviews from Alex and he's right they are fun to drive and with all the toys fitted what a blast, I know as I actually bought one last week, yes very expensive but an excellent build by BMW. Got the eight speed auto, yes I'm a lazy buck, even our MX5 is an auto but for real fun my Honda motorcycle isn't.
@@22chachalaca Because 90% of the time I'm in slow traffic, going shopping or on the motorway. The other 10% I can have fun on the twisties with the auto, may even use the floppy paddles, really don't see the point of having to change gear manually when having to cope with the congested roads that we have these days.
Omg I couldn't agree more lee doxey I have a 2019 69 plate Jcw Automatic 8 speed sports transmission ! I bought it brand new on order and living in Central London I couldn't be asked with clutching every 2 seconds! Auto all the way now!

1:49 Shouldn't it be DRL? daytime lights running XD indeed they are! I've had every generation apart from the Peugeot engined variant from 2007-2013, the classic is unpractical in every way but the ultimate experience (love the smell of fuel in the morning!) the supercharged modern take sounded nice but drank fuel (and had it's share of problems such as the radiator) They nailed it with the new one (apart from the massive owl eyes at the back) that engine has loads of potential aswell I believe it's out of the Supra (Z4? lol) so expect an easy 300BHP don't even need a JCW or GP

Never drove on a road with a lot of traffic and you are very lucky to get to an average speed of 50 km/h? Or are all the roads in the UK highways? Owning a hot hatch doesn't mean you can always drive it as one!

Almost forgot: 50 km/h = 31.06856 mph.
To add on to what is a well known problem for mini cooper - the interior panels start making flexing noise after a couple of years of ownership which can be irritating for someone who likes a peaceful drive.
Steering gets heavier in sport
