I am disabled, and cannot work upright on a window like this. Let me tell you, it took TREMENDOUS courage for me to even come back to painting since my accident, and I am STILL finding workarounds for my physical limitations.
But one of the things that has changed IMMENSELY since my days in school is the cost of light boards. I remember the 900 ways we had to rig something similar to them when I was an art student in the 90s, because they were so expensive to purchase. But I got a very lightweight one with multiple levels of brightness (my eyes are extremely sensitive to light because of my disability) off Amazon for like twenty bucks. It has to be plugged in, which is its only downside. But it has been a game changer for me.
The window trick is awesome and amazing and FREE. I am all here for anything and everything which makes art as accessible as possible to everyone!!! This video is invaluable as it stands. I merely wanted to mention the light boards because I am finding I am doing more work now that I have an easier method for transferring. 💜

It sounds like you're crushing it Kimmaline! To rise above challenges and find a way to get back into painting- you are an inspiration! I'm so glad you found a light board that works for you. Having the option to trace subjects can be such a game changer! Happy painting!

Yes, it's just such a time saver that allows you to do more of what you love and less of what you don't. Thanks for the great feedback, means so much!
