      For your personal information only,
Maybe you, @Wild-Siberia, will be interested
For example, let's take the second largest city in Russia - St. Petersburg. The city's population is 6 million people, the average salary per month is 100k rubles. To convert to dollars, divide by 90 (But we don’t need this).
Most likely the average here is before taxes. Taxes in the Russian Federation are paid by the employer for you, so you will receive not 100k, but, say, 80k. There are compound interest, but their calculation is all on the shoulders of the employer. Including health insurance and pension. In vacancies, the employer usually indicates how much he will pay, minus all taxes.
For example, you receive this 80k per month. And you are alone.
I personally work for that amount in an office as a designer (and this is still not enough in my specialty, but I’m just lazy). Schedule 5/2, 40 hours per week, 247 working days, not counting 1 month of vacation (usually 2 times 2 weeks). I usually work from 11:00 to 19:00, but I can come to the office whenever I want.
You want to rent housing, a one-room apartment, 10-20 minutes walk from the metro. It will cost from 15k to 30k, depending on the quality of the renovation of the room, the availability of furniture, etc. Each apartment usually always has a washing machine, stove, etc. The price already includes payment for utilities (for example 25k+5k).
      Personally, I rent a 2-room apartment for 37k.
How much you spend on food is a purely individual matter. I personally spend from 10k if I cook myself and 20k if I buy delivery of ready-made meals for a month, 2k calories per day. They bring there both meat and fish and cakes. In this case, you don’t have to go to the store at all. (There are food stores everywhere within a 20-minute walk)
Internet 400mbit, unlimited - 600 rubles per month, +600 rubles per smartphone.
I travel to work for 1 hour (15 minutes on foot, 45 by metro), the cost of 70 trips by public transport is 2.7k rubles. Consider the metro in St. Petersburg to be the same as in Moscow, only smaller. Many times less))
Why didn't you rent an apartment closer to work? Answer: an apartment closer to my wife’s work)) who also receives from 40k to 100k per month, piecework salary
And so calculate the intermediate results.
You receive 80k rubles per month. 80k-30k-20k-600-600-2700=26100 rubles. 33% balance not spent per month. For example, you can buy yourself a gym membership. For 10k rubles....per year.

    • @klarkkant7371
      @klarkkant7371 Před 3 měsíci

Wait a minute, what about health insurance?
you are a designer, perhaps you have a university education? On credit? What about the car?
      I answer:
      Spent by my parents
      0 rubles for kindergarten,
      0 for school and
      0 for university.
And this is still true today. Because they are free. (There are also paid ones, of course. Well, to get into university you have to get high scores on the school exam, otherwise you have to pay)
I personally don’t need a car at all, because I’d rather sleep for an hour on the subway or read a book than drive around the city in stress for 30 minutes. (But in fairness, a car costs from 1kk to 2kk, new or +/- 5 years old)
For 6k people, 1.7k cars are registered in St. Petersburg, because many people don’t use them.
What about medicine? Well, how can I say... We have old women who are almost 80 years old and call an ambulance just out of boredom.
      4 times a week.
Calling an ambulance costs 0 rubles.
Treatment of fractures, etc. - 0 rubles,
cut out appendicitis - 0 rubles.
      Well, you understand.
My friend spent four and a half weeks in the hospital with kidney stones, he had 2 operations and spent ... 4k rubles on medications to recover at home.
We also have a lot of paid clinics, and if you don’t want to wait 1-2 weeks for an appointment with a free doctor, you can spend 1-2 days with a paid one.
For example, it’s paid if you do the following:
X-ray of the skull 1k-2k rubles, MRI 3k-10k.
Personally, I broke shoulder bones, broke my nose, treated stomach problems, put fillings on all my teeth and all this - for free (for taxes, of course).
The only thing is that it is now problematic to take out a mortgage for your apartment, and the rate and prices have increased significantly. The cost of an apartment naturally depends on many factors, but in St. Petersburg you should focus on 10k rubles. According to statistics, 71% of the population owns their own home.
Property tax 0.1-0.2% per year, excluding benefits and other things for an ordinary apartment, this is about 10k rubles per year

Under Russian law, foreign citizens in Russia have the right to acquire, own and dispose of real estate (houses, apartments and land plots) with certain nuances. For example, there are restrictions on the purchase of land plots in certain regions. These include land in border areas, seaports, agricultural land; forest lands, nature reserves; territories of defense facilities. Also, a foreign citizen will not be able to buy real estate in cities where a special regime is established ("closed city"). For the purchase of real estate in Russia is not necessary residence permit. After buying real estate in Russia, a foreign citizen must register with the tax office. Taxes and fees for the transaction itself, as well as real estate tax for him are the same as for Russian citizens: from 0.1% to 2% depending on the region and cadastral value. However, when selling a real estate object, a foreign citizen will pay a tax of 30% of the full sale price. Buying real estate in Russia does not entitle a foreigner to Russian citizenship or residence permit. However, the ownership of Russian real estate by a foreigner may simplify the confirmation of the quota for temporary residence. A temporary residence permit is a document that allows a foreigner to live and work in Russia for three years. It is the first step in obtaining Russian citizenship.

Closer to large cities, land and house prices are more expensive. Some houses don't look very good, but they were probably built not for permanent housing, but to have a place to relax and have lunch, for example, on garden plots. By the way, it was customary for many, and even now for some, to carry old things to houses on garden plots that are no longer needed in city apartments. Some houses were left by the elderly, and the youth do not need them now, since they live in cities.🤔

23:08 - I would argue with you on that my friend. 🙂 The MAIN part of any russian house is FOUNDATION. There are many 'new' good lookling wooden houses that's build not on solid foundation but on pile foundation. They may look good and fancy - but they all loose to a brick house with solid foundation - because you can have a proper BASEMENT for winter food/supply storage.
So before buying a house especially an old one - make sure to check a basement first. Because if it has a good basement you can build a second floor(or even a third) in the future.
So a brick house with good solid foundation for 1 mil rubles only - I'd say it's a pretty good investment nowadays
If THAT house was not in Tula but in Moscow region - it would cost 5-6 times more))

    • @konstantin070797
      @konstantin070797 Před měsícem

Well, you also need to take into account the area, because if this building is somewhere in Zlatoust or Mias, that is, the city is located in mountainous areas, then most buildings will not have basements, since most buildings simply need piles so that houses do not slide down hilly or mountainous terrain. Similarly with the Arctic region (of course, I doubt that anyone there will want to build), only there piles are generally necessary for any buildings, otherwise the ground will heat up and the house will shrink... Well, there are specific regions such as houses somewhere on the Volga, there are also no basements in old houses outside the city for safety reasons, since gas and hydrogen sulfide accumulated in the basements because there are refineries nearby, but now, for example, this requirement is not relevant. And it also happens that houses, for example, located on clay, may also not have basements because they will be constantly flooded with groundwater.

As you know, I've lived from one end of Russia to the other. If we lived in a better world, I'd live in a very nice 3-room apartment in Moscow that is right next to the Metro. In addition, I'd have a Dacha (country home), that's outside of the city. It would be fairly well developed, but still close to a river or lake. None of that would be cheap.)))) Limited real estate in proximity to a high prestige near national treasure like lake Baikal tends to attract investment and with western avenues closing more Russian profits will be invested inside Russia.
I think Russia has great potential for it's average earning people being to have both a flat in the City near where they work and a country home where they recreate. Having the space as a homeowner with a plot land creates good expansionary markets for all sorts of consumer goods and space for larger families to play.
The key to a high productivity economy is to create the incentives for the average people to work hard and produce more for both themselves and the society as a whole as its under these conditions that self and social interest synergies together producing more for everyone.. What you don't want in society is people seeking to do the least amount of work required to survive as that mindset creates poverty for the individual and society..

I would love to buy land there, ideally after residency and citizenship with my future husband. I have my eyes on the southern region of Russia Krasnodar, Sochi, Adler, Maikop, Anapa ect. I probably won't go far up as Rostov-on-don. But what I've noticed is that land is typically farther from the city center, I'm not sure about the resources and activities available in those areas farther from the city for families. I've also heard Russians say don't go to the village areas if you are a minority because people living there aren't used to seeing foreigners and can be racist. Once I visit Russia, learn the language and travel around a bit who knows, I might choose to raise a family in Saint Petersburg. Whatever city I choose, I want it to give it my kids ample opportunity to grow.

I was born and live in Russia. And I tell you from my experience. In the city, people are more aggressive to those around them than in rural areas. And the fact that in rural areas are not used to foreigners, this does not cause aggression. There, people will show interest and curiosity about a foreigner. And there are few racists and there are more of them in the city because there are more people there. Regarding activities for families, there may be difficulties with a hospital, school or university only if it is very far from the city and in an area with a low population density. So you have to look specifically on the spot.

No offense but what you've been told is a bs. There is no racism in Russian villages or rural areas. The people who live there are just like people everywhere else, though they may not be as interested in modern trends. Instead, they focus more on farming and maintaining their homes. It's also important to note that there is no aggression towards foreigners, as correctly mentioned earlier. Of course, there are chances to encounter narrow-minded individuals (i.e. rednecks) in villages, but even then, I find it impossible to imagine them causing trouble solely because of someone's skin color.
Moreover, there is no widespread "real" racism in Russia. Racism here is more likely to stem from expressions of curiosity, if you can call it a racism even. Individuals with different skin colors are not treated poorly or discriminated against in shops, cafes, or workplaces. It's nothing like in America. In Russia any instances of racism are more likely to arise from annoyance caused by the behavior of visitors from neighboring countries, who sometimes resist assimilation, form close-knit groups, and may cause trouble for locals. If anything happens, which i highly doubt, at most, it might result in verbal insults, and hardly ever manifesting in direct confrontations. And there has to be a real reason to provoke such insults; it usually stems from a conflict.

The land is pretty big, i have a huge garden shed, an extra building with the banya and bbq area, double garage... all for the equivalent of $150,000. @@Wild-Siberia One thing we where wondering about some of the farm land further out in the "wilderness", it looks very beautiful, but about how far is it from a village/town on average? And are the nearest towns places one could work? Just thinking about the viability and how it compares to US rural areas. Like, is it possible to commute, or would it be straight up homesteading/100% self reliance? Very hard to tell looking at maps online... I live in a part rural, part suburban area near the Adirondacks in NYS. There's areas up here that look pretty similar. Generally, even the land for sale around here that's seemingly out pretty far away from society, is still reachable to a nearby small town, unless it's considered a "camp", or "hunting ground property". But for the most part rural/farm land here is still pretty close to a populated area. Just wondering if Russia is similar, or if it's still pretty bare/ undeveloped. I really like semi- rural areas, as I still have to work (unfortunately). 😊

It is probbalu due to the sanctions - rich Russians now do not have many options to invest abroad - so, they started to focus on the local market and real estate was the main target of these money. One more factor is - very high cost of construction materials ( this affect more buinding prices, not land prises)

Hello, my family originates from Russia and I have talking about moving to Russia for the past ten years, the reason I haven't made the move is due to the fact that I have two dogs that I'm highly attached to and of course the war slowed me down, I'm planning on making the trip in the fall, I'm a mortician by profession and wonder what it takes to find a job in my field, any advice would be greatly appreciated...

ESTIMADO DANIEL- For curiosity I was watching your video about prices of homes and apartments in Sudanka, Russia when my son Michael Lawrence from Costa Rica who is 30 years old came into my office room and was surprised to see you on the computer screen. He told me he met you in L.A. this past November 2023 while visiting my niece and nephew there. I am glad that you are happy with your lovely fiancee Cenia and her family in Russia. Good luck. Costa Rica is also beautiful and with luscious sceneries without the snow, a bit costlier and sunshine galore.

Yes I used to live in Costa Rica for many years basically 🫡 but honestly it’s too expensive and people were too rude to me for being either American or Mexican 🤣
