As much as I enjoy and admire your carpeting skills - I'm glad you're back to the actual gardening
Thank you for honoring Our Father. Loved this quick and easy method! THANK YOU!
My seed starting mix is similar: I started doing 2 part coco coir and 1 part of vermiculite with a dash of worm castings mixed in and I have great success.
Hey Hollis I've watched u an Nancy for along time from Virginia to Florida wish I could Build stuff like u an gardening I'm 67 yrs old an have enjoyed watching be safe God bless
Thanks for watching Paxton. We are the same age👍
You are always practical and make me feel like I can grow anything! You have inspired my garden this year and I have produce coming out my EARS! Just for fun, I planted corn in the front yard! (We're sort of country, so no one cares) 😁 God bless and grow on!

Thanks for always being there. We will be ramping up the growing videos again now. Stay tuned 👍
I have had a problem finding seed starter. Lowe’s does not carry & Home Depot is out. 8 qt 4.99. Went to Amazon $12 - 13.00!!! Same size bag.
REALLY AMAZON??? So I came here to get your recipe. I don’t need a whole lot but I like to keep on hand at all times. Thanks!
I had rather invest in making my own than throwing same amt of money out the window😁!
It always amazes me what could possibly be a rational reason to downvote a video like this?
Thank you Hollis and Nancy for all your wonderful videos. It's been a year or two for me to farm vicariously through your videos, but next year my situation will be different, and I'll be able to start my own garden. I plan to implement your knowledge then.
Thanks for the seed start recipe. Both lowes and home depot have military discounts of 10%, is a other big help!!
Every time I have a question I look at your video's and question answered so many great ones thanks for all your hard work🙂
👍
Hollis and Nancy, I love you guys so much! I’m so happy that your dreams have come true. I wish I could visit you in Florida, but I’m all the way at the other end of the nation. Fortunately, God has blessed us all with your wonderful videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Hollis, thank you for your great recipes, Nancy, and thank you both for all your hard work! Love to Bing Bing. Sincerely, Ray 💚👍
I thought I had pretty much watched all your videos since I discovered your channel. Don't really remember this one, but I'm glad I came across it. Thanks. Manifold blessings to you, good sir.
Thanks for watching. Got many new videos coming your way this year👍
Thank you for the seed starting dirt recipe. Love your channel; may you continue to be blessed
You post thorough and thoughtful videos. Thank you! A suggestion - wear a mask when mixing ingredients. Some of that dust is dangerous to inhale - especially if you handle the stuff often. Protect your breathing. PS: I love the scriptures you include!
Thanks for all your videos!!!
Hey Hollis and Nancy. I love watching you two love birds as you demonstrate how to do so many things. What I like most is your dedication to the Lord in all that you do 🙂It is a waste of life otherwise. I had a quick question about your seed starting mix. In another one of your videos (Starting Seedlings), it appears there's Perlite in your seed starting mix. However, in your instructions, you only call for vermiculite. Am I seeing things? Keep up the great work!
I love watching you guys. I would like to see Nancy do a video on canning and pickling the veggies
I enjoy your videos so much. We live in Colorado, so seed starting outside isn’t possible. I like how simple you make things. You remind me why I enjoy the garden and my chickens so much. God made us artists, and the garden is our canvas. God bless you both.☺️
I fix mine in totes. Great tip
Hollis, that is a boss mustache my friend!
😎
Thank you! Love the verse at the end. I have a question-Why, not Perlite is there a difference in using Perlite vs Vermiculite?
I sometimes add a little perlite in the mix as well
Thanks guys for helping me be a better gardener and inspiring me to keep working at it. You are blessed and a blessing to others.
thank you. that is a good money saving tip.
I am new to gardening and your channel is a blessing! Thank you both for taking the time and effort to share and educate. I’ve always wanted to grow my own food and finally after 40 years and inspired by your enlightening videos, I’ve finally decided to just do it. Your channel is invaluable to folks like me!
Our pleasure!
Thank you for sharing. I've sent a lot of money on potting and gardening soil over the summer. This fall and so on will be this way. Thank you.
Wonderful!
Thank you, as always, for sharing
Great video 👍
Thanks for sharing
I like u guys very motivated to start gardening
Thank you for this video it will save me so much money!
I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking deer but I don't think they have them in FL.
Hollis has night cameras and you can see all the deer roaming around after at night, I think I saw coyotes to.@@Atrayal1
Thank you very much.
Thank you!😁

Thanks for sharing with us Hollis and Nancy, great savings super information 👍👍
Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks so much!
You are so welcome!
That was awesome! Thank you for the tips!
I like making my own seed starting mix it's way cheaper ! I wish I could start up outside but that's not possible so I have a grow setup indoors that I love but those dang fungus gnats are something else unless when I mix I pre wet with boiling water . I am so looking forward to your videos now that you are set up .
Sprinkle cinnamon on top of your seed tray after you plant the seeds to control fungus gnats
Thank you for sharing. Very easy peasy. Hope y'all are doing well 😎
Thank you! Subscribed!
❤️
Thank you Hollis!
I really like your videos! I'm an amateur gardener and your videos have helped me lot! Thank you and God bless.
Dear friend, we are all amateur gardeners. Just enjoy the peace of your garden❤️
Thank you for sharing. Will definitely try this out. I mixed compost with it and had damping of disease. Not sure what caused that. Will try this without the compost. Hope it solves my problem. Thanks once again.
It's been a pleasure...
I was told that you may avoid fungus gnats by using coco coil and additives (perlite, vermiculite), instead of using seed-starting-soil for inside trays. I'm trying coco coil and perlite this year.
I use coco coir and perlite 3 to 1 ratio and throw in two handfuls of rock phosphate and a 6 inch pot full of worm castings in a 5 gallon bucket.
That was very easy thanks!
Looking great
Thanks
That is an amazing fence behind you. Love it. Want it!
Thanks for sending me the link to this video! Bless you & your wife!
You are so welcome
Just love u guys 🛐
Great video, thank you!
God Bless you Thank you short and sweet
Thank you Hollis I really needed that information.
Thank you the easiest I have seen
Thank you. This was very helpful to me. God bless
Thank you for sharing this video!
Thanks for this
Man , that fence though... Are there dinosaurs in your area? Or two legged bushwackers?
@@ITURNWINEINTOWATER I believe you are correct. I live in deer haven. I see deer every day and every night in SC. I've heard the best way to keep them out is to extend the fence horizontally, like a federal prison fence. They have a hard time jumping vertically AND horizontally at the same time.
Amen
Thank you for the tip. May God bless you many year to come.
Have you ever used soil blocks? They seem to provide better and stronger plants from seedlings and the plant doesn’t have as much transplant shock when you upgrade them to a larger block or plant them into the ground.
love your vids - no nonsense easy to follow Have a Blessed Day!
Great info, thanks 😊
Glad it was helpful!
I like your fence, thank you for the info
nice thanks
Awesome video.. Thanks for sharing. This is a game changer. Peace
I’ve always wanted to do something like this when I was younger before the word homestead was a popular word.
Thank you sir.Another great video
Hollis and Nancy, I love all your videos; it's my daily routine to enjoy them before I go to bed. QQ for you, I followed the instructions of one part vermiculite with three parts peat-moss; however, my seedling tray won't absorb water even with repeated watering, and it barely gets hydrated; Am I missing anything, or are there any tips to hydrate quickly without making a mess?
I pre-moisten my trays and tap them prior to planting the seeds. Let me give you a link that demonstrates:

This was super helpful

Great video. Thank you
Do you water to st the potting mix before you transfer it to seed pots or after before you plant the seeds?
Thank you!
Thank you
Thank you for this great info. I’ve heard some people say they add lime to the peat moss to balance the acidity. Would you recommend doing this? Thanks
Miss you guys.
Oh goodness. It's that what's in that stuff?!? Thank you Hollis and Nancy! This was very helpful! It seems like I should be starting my onion seeds. It's there a preferred type of container for developing sweet and red onion varieties from seed?
Thank you for saving me money. Very informative content. Do you have any suggestions on how to make your own container soil mix?
New subscriber.
We soak crushed wood charcoal with alfalfa pellets, then add it to the garden soil like a soupy oatmeal layer.
Just let it dry then finger it into the top soil.
Charcoal is a neat tool Once Charged with a nutrient....its called Terra Preta
BLESSINGS
Thx 😍
Amen!
Love your channel. Can I use Coir fibre in place of Peat?
Please do. ;0D daisy
Question....Do u always use the plastic containers or have you used things like toilet paper rolls? Do u still spray with Need oil and sprinkle with cinnamon for outside?? Thanks. Love your videos....very informative
Can you use Perlite instead of Vermiculite?
👍👍
Thumbs up, commenting and watching to make sure my subscribe sticks!
👍
