3000GT VR-4 Timing Belt Flex Under Acceleration

This is just to show how much a timing belt moves under acceleration on a Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4. This is a kevlar timing belt.

You gotta get a tensioner dude, smth like the N2 belt stabilizers we use on 4AGEs

I always though that it was slack created by the other side of the cam profile. As the valves close, the springs are pushing the cam forward faster than the belt travel or something like that. Timing chain motors all have that slider between the cam sprockets to control the slack.

Wow. Never thought to look at that. Is it a stock hydraulic style tensioner or manual.

This is with a solid 3sx tensioner

@@JohnnyGT So a really high end belt and tensioner still gets stretched like that under load. interesting.
