That should be a great experience for that Boy, on that adventure trip with his grandparents!

Walter - I stumbled across your channel and subscribed. I've watched the first 7 now and look forward to the final 5. You're doing a real-life accounting of your trip up there which is awesome. It's good to know riding to Fairbanks on the GW is about as far as you'd want to go. I have a sister-in-law that lives in Fairbanks. I became discouraged about checking off the bucket list riding the GW from OH to AK watching other CZcams videos. Folks all discouraged it because of high damage potential to the Gold Wings. Mine's a 2005 and I don't want to lose it. I see you went last June which is probably smart for the weather. I'd opt to go after mosquito season if possible. We've dealt the Michigan State Bird (mosquito) camping in the UP and they can drill through 3 layers of clothing. Absolutely obnoxious and don't ever want to be around them during their feeding season again. My wife can't stand mosquito season sitting on our front porch here in OH. We're going to Glacier NP and several others this summer, leaving late August returning probably the weekend after Labor Day. On one of your episodes, you met a couple guys from Dayton, OH. One was from Springboro. We live in that area. It would be cool to know who they were. Thanks for putting this out there. It's been fun watching your adventures.

Well you answered my question. I don't like bugs. And seeing you swat them makes me not even want to go there. Love big blue.

Mo, there are Mo-bugs up there in Alaska then down here in Louisiana. They only got two months of existence and they come out hungry. Big Blue performed perfectly.

@@walterwingerdebus5828 thanks for sharing that about the bugs. I was watching that video and my wife said we should go there till she seen you swating the bugs. She does not like bugs. I can't even get her to motocamp. Because of the bugs. So we hotel it. I loved that cabin you stayed in. Thanks for the reply 👍

Amazing trip. I'm looking at doing some more longer distance riding myself this year. Moving down to TN from Chicago in less than a month. I can't wait.

Ride safe and make sure you plan for your long rides. A breakdown is a bummer when you are far from home.

Great adventure on this video! I rode the Denali Highway with a friend last year and it was awesome!

I'm just now thinking about a ride from Metairie, LA (we're neighbors) to AK. I stumbled across your vlog and thank you for this! Being vertically challenged at 5'6" the Dual Sports are not a good fit for me unfortunately. I have had BMW 1150R and a 1250RT and those as are tall as I can go. I've had a Harley Streetglide and a Goldwing as well and those suit my inseam better. I'm in the market for a new bike and cant decide how to go but I think it'll be a BMW or a Goldwing

both are excellent bikes. A rule of thumb that I use is the question - where do I get my bike fixed if I have a problem ?
