- Ending scene from 'England Is Mine, 2017'. Morrissey and Johnny Marr meet for the first time and form the Smiths.
I don't understand why it's 360p, the original file is HD and CZcams refuses to leave it uncompressed.

Should've been the start of the movie imo.
Cockshield exactly when it cut out at the end felt like a waste of time
How I See It yes I felt the Same, i did enjoy it up until then, i had read he only did Moz up until the famous knock on the door which ive seem people put he got wrong house tbh I didn't particularly pick that up because I had read about it before i had bought it.
I bet we all felt the Same when it finished bloody shouting awwww come on mam and the rest !!!!!!
I would have liked a bit more, was disappointing to end here.
So true honestly the biopic was boring but it would’ve been better if the movie started from this scene. Hopefully we get another biopic about morrissey with accurate information because this movie had false information about morrissey
Btw., if you wanna watch great first concert ever for Johnny in Zagreb, Croatia for yammat.fm on Yammatovo (birthday celeb of radio), you're welcome. The end is on SMS part, after.

“I play a bit”..........understatement of the century.
Absolutely... Marr is without a doubt the greatest guitarist living
@@charlesdeason1646 not even close
@@jongbong1912... Sorry, brother... Marr is amazing
Charles Deason ‘without doubt’. I’ve played guitar for over 30 years and am a huge fan of Marr. But to label him the greatest is a ridiculous comment.
@@SuperEdge67 i dont care how long you've played. It adds nothing to the fact that Marr is the greatest of the last 30 years. His riffs are....eloquent. Catchy, rhythmic, melodic, emotional, superbly complex while sounding accessible and catchy. Name one other guitarist who can do that then we can talk
I was watching this movie with my friend who never knew the smiths and when she saw this scene she ask me"So when they gonna kiss?"and I laughed my ass off
Well, it could be a kiss of death...
lol, they did something better than kissing…
@@user-ed8zf5zv5j they formed The Smiths!
Eso quisiera Morrissey
thats a valid question i think everyone wonders
The actor who plays morrissey really nailed his voice and mannerisms, probably one of the only good things about this movie
I thought so as well, i didn't think it would be possible and he we are.
And the voice. And he also looks like him A LOT.

I want a Smiths' movie with the rights... and yeah I want him as morrissey again
ALEJANDRA BARAHONA it would be so cool if moz were actually involved in the making if the movie
YES
It would be a disaster if Moz was to be involved...
wow seriously
Jack as Moz again? No way. He was good but I saw the interview he did and he was so lacking in any interest in Morrissey it was quite upsetting
Best combo in music Morrissey's amazing lyrics & vocals with Johnny Marr's outstanding guitar work. Incomparable.

THE VOICE IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS MORRISEY'S!!!!
I had a dream that Morrissey and Marr were combined in the lab into this super musician called Marrissey that had four arms and a quiff. It could play guitar solos, hold daffodils, and give Nazi salutes, all at the same time.
😳🤣
Booo
what a lovely dream
lmao wtf that's amazing
I love this
it's stupid they even made this film considering they couldnt even get rights for the smiths music.
but the movie is about young morrissey, before he joined the smiths. it wouldn't've made any sense if a the smiths song played when the band didnt even exist yet
😂
@@garuspiks Morrissey himself admits that nothing interesting happened prior to the smiths so why make a film about that time?
@@garuspiks You are right

In keeping with the ethos of the Smiths, I went to see it on my own in a cinema with only one other person in the audience - we didn't acknowledge or say a word to each other and we both sat right until the final line of the credits

@@ade1963 no seriously... why glorify homoness?
In Johnny rogan’s brilliant biography on The Smiths called ‘Morrissey & Marr the severed alliance’ this mythical event is eulogised and rightly so. An aspiring young guitarist looking for a front man and fellow songwriter meets with a strange loner who had ambitions to be a pop star but felt his chance had gone. 5 years later they had changed the face of British music and are amongst the pantheon of the all time greats.
How did I manage to miss this? Whoever that is playing morrissey is pretty perfect.
The actor is Jack Lowden. He’s a fantastic actor. He also brilliantly played an RAF pilot in the recent Christopher Nolan film Dunkirk.
I am asking myself the very same question.
Have just randomly, or not, bumped into the video.
It's good to know Morrissey was always a prick 🤣
@@Ironworthstriking consistency is valuable in this world lol

According to Marr's autobiography he had a friend with him when he visited Morrissey at his house but never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
It was an awful film though
@@seankilburn7200 sometimes I have thought about a movie in black and white “ maybe a little color too “ pretentious I know but hear me out “ where we get two scenes from Margaret Thatcher and The Smiths that time she got blown up at that hotel and Morrissey says that line about heroes who made a brilliant attack that night.. I don’t how the story should be told maybe like Bronson “ a great film “ or something like that..
Well every other account, even his elsewhere says differently.
Marr’s response to “would you care for some toast?” Is pretty good.
Jesus Christ they turned Morrissey into young Sheldon
Yes
I find the comment interesting because I have speculated for years that Morrissey has Aspergers, but I've never seen anyone else assert this. He has many attributes of High Functioning Autism.
The actor who plays Morrissey is actually pretty great (especially in the last scenes)
You ever seen a Morrissey interview?
He got his speaking voice nailed
The sexual tension throughout that scene was through the roof

I really enjoyed the view/shot of the camera when he was fixing to write/type at his typewriter. It's his instrument. You see this shot with musicians with say a piano or guitar...I'm glad to see this with the typewriter. 👍
How am i just finding out theres a movie about the smiths-
Because it's shit
@@j.ake.9264 Exactly. Otherwise we'd all know about it. Even this was news to me & I've loved them for decades. No wonder. It's awful!
Because it was not about the Smiths it was about the time prior Morrisey met johnny marr
Because it is shite
The lad playing Johnny Marr is nothing like him, everything is off, from the mannerisms to the accent to the appearance.
Johnny's son Nile looks kinda spot on....
As opposed to Simon Riley playing Ian Curtis who didn't really look like him or sound like him but wound up doing very well.
@@devintariel3769 that the dude from Control? He was excellent as Ian, got the mannerisms and vocals on point.
Devin Tariel fym that guy looked a lot like Ian. Ironically the substitute front man when Ian doesn’t wanna go on stage sounds more accurate but most of Riley’s performance was v good
The guy playing Billy Duffy was a lot more accurate funnily enough.
A beautiful film with its cinematography and lighting. But i understand why people and especially big Smith fans are disappointed with it. I personally find it a perfect film pre Smiths.
i think it is brilliant

Best duo since Lennon & McCartney. Maybe not better but I prefer the Smiths to the Beatles. Both great, but the Smiths melodies are far more interesting and colourful.

Johnny didn’t go alone to Moz’s house.. he went with a dude called Pommy. Unfaithful scene in general.
Matt Pomfret?? I think!! Hate how they twist the truth to suit their own screenplay? I'd rather have the truth, why not get a Manc actor to play Moz? This kids accent is some farmers accent from Preston or somewhere. Moz did cultivate his accent later on but being from South Manchester myself you can definitely hear the Mancunian in his voice. Like Coronation street, there's not one actor with a Salford accent!! They're all Yorkshire or southerners trying to talk Manc which comes out sounding Yorkie.

When the Johnny in this plays, it gave like meat is murder vibe for some reason
I used to work with a fella who was best mates with Billy Duffy, the Billy Johnny mentioned, from the London music scene from the late 70's. He went up to stay with Billy in Manchester. He met Moz and Johnny not long after the two formed The Smiths. When he told me this, I was just so fucking jealous!
Dude Dudster you mean the greatest Billy Duffy.
Johnny picked out "You're the One" by the Marvelettes.
But if I had to choose between the trip and you
There would be only one thing that I could do
I don't have to come out and say my choice
You can tell by the sound of my voice
You're the one
Amy J what are you implying?
Ricardo Espinoza I'm implying that it was a fateful, prophetic choice of song for the beginning of an iconic songwriting partnership. Neither of them could have known at this point what The Smiths would become, but looking back, it's perfect.
The funny thing is, he actually went on the trip. And then he came back and the smiths had split without him even knowing. .... You know what, perhaps funny isn't the right word at all
The Marvelettes were fantastic. Some of their material was written by Smokey Robinson, a bona fide pop genius.
Johnny Marr described the moment in a different way. In his book, he writes that Morrissey's mom opened the door. Also, Marr came with a friend, someone who knew or was an acquaintance of Morrissey. I will not give up too much information about Marr's book; if you are a fan of The Smiths, Morrissey, or Marr, you must read it. Johnny Marr made a beautiful description of this encounter. Anyway, do not take this scene as 100% accurate because it is not.

Let's make a movie about The Smiths, and we won't have any music from The Smiths in it.
Oh that sounds good.
Oh wait, someone else already did it.
Marr sounds like a Londoner who has been living in Manchester for a week trying to fit in
Can’t understand how such a beautiful friendship turned out to be that bad at the end....
They're still in touch though. Not as close as they used to be. But they still go along. They even hang out a couple of times in the last 15 years.
If they are still friends, why have they declined to perform any reunion concert???
Just different. Morrissey is more conservative or centrist and Johnny Marr is extreme Left/Liberal. Can't really get on well with polar values. Sad, but it happens. My ex-friend was a fellow drummer and we were super close until I went a little too extremely conservative around 2016 when Trump beat Clinton and it made him go extremely left and he basically after years of friendship blocked me. I admit I got caught up in the whole counter culture wave of it all. Looking back, it got everyone going one way or another. Now, it's sad when I see we all just want anyone rather than the world leaders the world has now.
@@reggiekrager5411 not true whatsoever. they haven’t seen each other since 2008 when they met up in a pub & discussed a potential reunion. despite having been on good terms, afterward they never heard from each other again. to make matters worse, just earlier this year morrissey wrote an open letter asking johnny to stop mentioning his name in interviews & johnny has said that their is absolutely 0% chance he’ll ever have any kind of relationship (professionally or as friends) with morrissey ever again…

He doesn't. Not in the least.

I'd rather see a film about how the smiths ENDED, with Moz catching Marr cheating with Bryan Ferry ...
Oh? Do tell more
Oh god it's in the morrissey book if you haven't bothered to read it...well.
In my opinion Morrissey was too controlling. He didn't want to "share" Johnny Marr. People are people though not objects. Morrissey thought he was the boss and sorry but why is playing guitar on a Bryan Ferry record such a betrayal?? If he had ASKED for permission we all know how Morrissey would have reacted.
My god..the smiths broke up because of bryan ferry.
How pathetic.
David Mingione it was less to do with Bryan Ferry and more to do with Morrisseys reluctance to hire a manager leaving Johnny doing everything. Throw in Mozzers occasional no- shows and general awkwardness and Marr had enough. As Moz himself says in the book “ I am Impossible “.
They were burned out touring non stop not making any money..
