As an alumnus of Tim’s Nashville workshop last spring I was delighted to see you painting again with him. Fun to see two interpretations of the scene and to know that every outing has challenges, even for the pros!
Wow what a treat watching both of you paint! Same scene, two different artists and the paintings are different and both so beautiful. My 2 cents, I like the green wedge, it directs my eye back in. With oil paint there are so many chances to change and fix. I’m trying water based oils and it’s a whole different animal then acrylics but I’m loving them so far. Thanks so much sharing and for the inspiration 👊🏻🎨
Am sitting here at 3 AM and I come across the Cliff House and Ocean Beach! Went to Lincoln HS and then moved to east coast. We used to cut school and party at Ocean Beach! The Cliff House used to be a glorious old hotel that was up the hill from Playland to your right! Your pleinair painting is lovely!😊
Beautiful paintings guys🎨🌊 This is a tough composition. The Complexities of drawing this scene real! I gotta get back out there and see what more I can do. Thank you🙏🏾
I’m a painter and I live in San Francisco. Would you ever do a plein air class in person? Would love to join a plein air group. Great job on the painting!
Hi Mike - I really like your painting....also enjoyed it when you did street scenes in S.F - will you ever do these again? the gallery connection was really interesting - are you still selling there.
Yeah, good day. I really like Tim’s and I like the way the shadow turned out however, the shape at the very bottom I personally would change the shape. do something a little different. And yeah, Michael there’s something nice! I can’t wait for the next time I paint a sky. I will have you in mind. You are so casual about it just… done! I forgot about it. Well, I forgot about everything I used to not anymore. Thanks.
I like when you paint with other artists because it’s just a great reminder that there’s no wrong way to envision a scene. Nice work! 🎨

Love both. Tim’s is so skilled and harmonious. Michael’s feels epic. I really like the painting!!!❤

I liked the people on the beach and the water in background in the opening scenes of video. Reminded me of an impressionist painting.

Tim. I'm glad you didn't have a smaller brush with you...those rocks look great. And Michael...love the composition!
Love Tim’s edition
Me too 🙂
Both paintings look great! I agree with you on the " green wedge". 😉
Another nice painting. Alfred Hitchcock would approve.👍
Always something new to learn from your vlogs and plein air process thank you

I’ll be visiting San Diego this summer. Do you know of some good places to paint along the ocean there?
I don't but maybe someone will offer suggestions in the comments.
I agree linen sucks and not worth the price.
