I dont understand, we didnt have a pool growing up so this is a serious question, why does people dont drain their pools and put on a cover in it before winter season?
Water isnt cheap, Especially if its a bigger pool
if a pool goes without water and there is sufficient water in the surrounding ground, the pool can "pop up" and come out of the ground due to electrostatic pressure. Look up pool pops
The cover is a safety measure to prevent drownings.
No need to drain just cover and winterize equipment. This is years of neglect. I maintain pools for a living. I can get it ready to swim in 3 days if it's only been a few months up to a year.
Easy: so they have a good reason to buy a steam cleaning system giving them satisfaction whilst cleaning.

Just for interest - in most places in US now a neglected pool is akin to a criminal offense. Being a breeding ground for mosquitoes which carry disease. People have been fined and threatened with jail if they do not keep clean their pool.

Could have been made much simpler by simply ordering a new liner which is what this pool needed! Liners don’t last forever. This one’s been in place for 10+ years. It should have been changed out!

Because most of them are heated and can be used for three to four months of the year... had one all my life and its amazing.

My sister recently passed away n her pool was dirty n green. We plan to sell the house but we needs to clean the pool or maybe drain it out. Very stressful. She left us all these messes 😔
