Being in a college town I see the point of it. It's small and agile and easily stored. Can zip from place to place. Put a elctric ride assist hub wheel on it and you have a compact mode of transportation from class to class.
One of my biggest concerns is if it's chains slip while the rider is heavily pedaling. As the chains and gears fatigue there will be more and more chain slipping.
I guess what confuses me is that there is less material, already existing technology, dangerous to learn to ride... but the bike cost 880 pounds ($1,400 US.) Really? This one should clock in around $150. It was an interesting idea that I was considering giving a try until I saw that price tag. What am I missing?
sharp spike haha.. its a fender to prevent road stuff from flinging up and looks like flexible plastic so no real danger there.. but it should be longer and hug the tire closer as there is still plenty of exposed tread for road crud to make your crouch look...beat up..
I stand corrected, most have seats, but they have them small and lowered all the way down - thus they are virtually the same as this bike. There are SOME freestyle riders who do not use seats at all. Would it make you happy if I called it TRIAL?
For distance, I could see a quick attach seat. the small footprint makes it a nice ride to toss in the trunk. Oh, and the girl is pretty dayumed awesome.
Put a seat in the recumbent position, add electric and go! I wonder if the sell the front wheel and drive separately? This could be part of a simple and cheap recumbent bike/trike system if they can bring the manufacturing costs down.
This looks, to me, like a big disadvantage going both up and down hills. Long bikes are more stable, larger wheels are both more stable and roll over obstacles easier, with this bike your weight is hanging off the backside making hills pretty much a no-go without leaning over the handlebars and so on and so on... It's just a bad design.
I have a folding bike and once I left the seat and seatpost behind. So I then did 40 to 50 km along a rail trail like this. Standing on the pedals the whole time. Never again. There is a reason that seats were invented.
... that is why it is a FREESTYLE. Many times FREESTYLE bikers take their seats off - they don't use them and they get in the way so they just take them off.
advantages i can spot : easier to manouver, atleast its easier to make a quick and sharp turn. it needs less space and is easier to lock safely when you need to leave it somewhere.
Interesting configuration but it has some problems :) You can't put a seat on it or it will fall over or you can't pedal. But some kind of rear steering might be possible. Ultimately though the simple solution is just to get rid of the pedals entirely, use small wheels on a very simple frame and just have electric power in a wheel. And a comfortable scooter like seat instead of the uncivilized bike seat.
I agree with JH Reaves. It needs further work. It might boost sales to actually show us what the vehicle can do that others cannot. Show us something amazing about the design. Show us WHY we should want that design. It looks dangerous to the crotch from here. More work/thought needed. More and better videos, please.
Most of the weight is on the rear tire. I can see this would flip very easily backwards on a incline or going over a hump. This thing wouldn't be for newbie or casual rider.
jesper jakobsen Ahahahahah, and fallingback everytime you try to go up a sidewalk ! I just wanted to know if I was the only one that thinks that this is stupid as hell !
It is good to cycle when standing, but they should have designed longer pedals, because normal pedals hurt your feet and ankles when you ride standing up. I know this because I don't usually sit down when I cycle.
interesting idea, but its not practical, no seat so your not riding for long. I suppose that if there were a seat it would get into the way when doing tricks.
I believe it's much more an excercise than what we've got already... are you ridding for pleasure or for sports? If both, then trying this may be a good idea... At least I want to try it...
bun pt motor in roata din fatza cu reductor cu lant sau pedalier in axul rotii fatza la bicicleta low rider , tandem etc = usurat mult bicicleta = acelasi butuc este folosit si pt roata si pt pedalier = min 0:58 .
damn I forgot that I couldnt sit down....and I burnt my ass on the wheel!!!

These guys must be getting their cues from Apple... "I know, lets make a bike...with OUT a seat!"
Dax Carson yall ever heard of trials
que site posso comprar esse tipo de bike?

It’s a bit like fine dining; The more money you pay, the less you actually get on your plate.
OMG !!!! I love it !!....nice !!
Fantastic !!!
You sit on the tire when you're tired
What's the purpose of the sharp spike where a seat would be? Looks like a painful accident waiting to happen.

Perfect music choice! Awesome!
Some ideas truly are better off not being made. Seriously.
they made it because someone like it. People even don't like Android, but Samsung still can sell a million Android smartphone

if your foot slips off the pedal Ouchy no thank you

Warehouse worker would probably love this.
It would be nice if there was a description, it looks like it may have improved stability, and I don't if it's more or less efficient for pedaling.
For distance, I could see a quick attach seat. the small footprint makes it a nice ride to toss in the trunk. Oh, and the girl is pretty dayumed awesome.
Gone Daddy Gone, by the Violent Femmes originally. This version is by Gnarls Barkley
yes truly creative designs come when we stop relying on established industry to drive progress into the future.

It is a gift for one who is in a rush to die.
Where is a shop? How can I try the bike?
no information anywhere
Amazing cycle!
Would the shorter body or distance between the wheels be a disadvantage or affect balance when going on slopes?
Why the shorter body?

i'd love to try one out, but i wouldnt buy it :D
It would be better than going to a Gym and peddling a stationary. This must be a good work out.

you will fall if you accelerate harder. You are right over the center of the rear wheel. That cant be good
Agreed, hitting a crack in the road going downhill will send the rider going ass over tea kettle. Not good design
Have a look at the halfbike ;)
Freestyle you didn't do anything. Do something to make me want to buy it. Very poor add.
... that is why it is a FREESTYLE. Many times FREESTYLE bikers take their seats off - they don't use them and they get in the way so they just take them off.
Wow the nostalgia from Forza Motorsports 2 is real in this video
I still like the concept of sitting down once in awhile...
what kind of the rear hub? how does it works?
The mountain bike version would be great on those really tight switchbacks.
I wonder what is is the speed that runbike design compare to normal bicycle ?
what is the gearing like on these bikes?
I feel adding a foldable/detachable seat makes it more attractive to buy.
Aka da nutcracker
after some measures i still lovin that model!
So how easy is it to flip over the handlebars on this thing?
Where do I put my Brooks Saddle ?
ele é muito Bom de manobra
1:41 best part of the video.
This is a short wheelbased bike without a seat. WHOOP DE FREAKIN DOO
Imagine riding in the rain. All the wet dirt is going to fly between your legs.
advantages i can spot : easier to manouver, atleast its easier to make a quick and sharp turn.
it needs less space and is easier to lock safely when you need to leave it somewhere.
I guess this cheaper than paying a doctor to remove your hemorrhoids.
jesus fuck what a terrible idea.
Interesting configuration but it has some problems :)

Which kind of FREESTYLE riders take their seats off?
Best comment!
The white bar sticking out helps her get more pleasure from ridding the bike
Boa tarde gostaria ver como constroir ou preço valor
yeah it looks pretty cool
Looks like a BMX and a Unicycle had a baby together!!!
ZootSuitWolf if BMX and Unicycle were brother and sister
LOL! ...And the unicycle was the larger of the siblings!!!
I don´t know if I love, or if I hate it

Deivid Canan Amigo se vc conseguir me avise
Se conseguir aviso, abraço!
video didn't really show the RUN part of the bike.
Ha.
I like this girl )
MT bom , nunca vi uma aqui no Brasil
only one question... why?
can you get these in the US?
Try and pedal this up a slight hill, may as well walk it up.
magina daum grau com uma magrela dessa kkkkkkkkk
Wait so can someone ecplain why the drive chain must be so complicated
Made for those that can't decide if they want to run or ride a bike.
Why didn't they invent this back before my knees and back got so bad?????
Want to see you using this for a 20 km ride ...
You are trying to reinvent the wheel,
Leave it out!
Qual valor dessa bike
The song......Violent Femmes - Gone Daddy Gone
Love the concept. Looks horribly complex, though. Imagine trying to fix that baby if something broke!
Onde encontro
let it get in market work out issues and improve. most of the cool things we now enjoy so much had beta testing.
Hey, for the 2nd modification... install Ape Hanger handlebars on this thing, and lose the useless front wheel
Slovak :D ?
This would make more sense if it was fixed drive like a unicycle rather than freewheel/freehub, then it'd be more unique at least
By taking seat out of my normal bike I get the exact same thing...
So its just a bike without a seat?
Well. I'm sure next step will be the seat. If I had one I would find a way to adapt a seat.
how much it cost
Most of the weight is on the rear tire. I can see this would flip very easily backwards on a incline or going over a hump. This thing wouldn't be for newbie or casual rider.
it says the artist not the song's name...
Do you like biking, but get upset over the lack of mid to upper level back pain it gives you? Try this!
What's the song's name?
The purpose being ... ?
jesper jakobsen Ahahahahah, and fallingback everytime you try to go up a sidewalk ! I just wanted to know if I was the only one that thinks that this is stupid as hell !
prática de carregar mas ficar de pé não me agradou, parece que estamos votando no tempo.
muito show
Tem revenda no Brasil

Muito motivador
Que doideira isso .
Nice bike!
Song?
面白い自転車です。
乗ってみたいですね。
the question is.... why???
why No bunnyhops?
If for some reason this won't think who this is for I am talking about Eric Borders.
i'm sure a lot of thought went into this design, but really, what's the point?
Gone Daddy Gone by Gnarls Barkley

shorter wheelbase makes it very nimble, we can judge later once we see more pro rider upload their tricks
Just did 120 mile ride at the weekend and a guy did it on a bmx, which blows your theory out of the water.
Looks nice but would be uncomfortable at the same time since there is no jock to sit on...
modern day penny-farthing nice, and a seat would be a easy add
