  • Voters will have a choice between the Conservatives’ “optimistic” view of the future and Labour’s “doomsterism” later this year, the Prime Minister said in a pre-election pitch to voters.
    In a speech to the Policy Exchange think tank on Monday, Rishi Sunak sought to portray himself as the best person to lead the UK through a period of great danger and great opportunity.
    Talk’s Ian Collins analyses the Prime Minister’s speech, while questioning whether Sunak is the right person to lead the UK through this period.

    Sunak is the worst of prime ministers. All his ideas are terrible; often, unworkable, too. He needs to be kicked out of office asap. He and his Party have had more than fourteen years to sort out this country's problems, but all he and his incompetent colleagues have done is make matters ten times worse.

    • @JamJam0189

      His answer is let's make the people working part time do 18 hours a week. For many this will mean a 2nd job as many are part-time these days, some may be part-time due to being parents. Job vaccines have grown due to Brexit.

    • @xelakram
      @xelakram Před měsícem +6

      @@JamJam0189 IMHO, Sunak hasn't got the answer to anything. Sunak is part of the problem, not part of the solution. He is not even an elected prime minister, which I resent. From smoking ban (which far too few in the MSM are picking up on) to his exceedingly extravagant and unworkable Rwanda scheme to his threats to leave the ECHR, Sunak is a dangerous, undemocratic, illiberal imposter.
      He wonders why people don't want to work. I would suggest the following: If you want to encourage people to work more, longer and harder, pay them properly! This is not rocket science.

      @xelakram Před měsícem

      @@patrickcromie7095 In my opinion, it is a hare-brained scheme. First of all, Rwanda is not a safe country, The government saying it is safe doesn't make it safe. Second, I think it is inhumane to send these people to countries they have no connection with; in fact, I believe that it is against international law to do so. Third, the scheme is horrendously expensive, costing millions per illegal immigrant. Fourth, even if it were to work, it wouldn't solve the problem. We are only talking about a maximum of about 300 illegal immigrants! Fifth, it will damage the reputation of this country.
