    Myself 28 years old. Started my first job on April 2021, and continuing a SIP of Rs.20,500 for last 6 months. Hope to accumulate good fortune when in 50s. Investing SIP of Rs. 12,500 on Mirae Tax saver, Rs. 3500 on Motilal 150 index midcap, Rs. 2500 on Motilal NASDAQ 100 index fund, Rs. 2000 on Canara Robeco Bluechip. Any suggestion for betterment of allocation would be highly appreciated.

      @pritam the advisors I ve come across they suggested to invest in index funds for a long term gain. The allocation you've mentioned here has huge returns but highly risky. Since it all has a good historical background I hope so yours is absolutely safe. All this you've invested through ET money App?

    Hi etmoney team, consider a young person, who has been working in last one year and has a corpus of some 5 lakhs and also has less responsibility, so have about 50K money at hand every month. How he/she should invest this money?
    Possible responsibilities in the future but not very sure:
    1. buying a car - 3 years
    2. maybe house in EMI - 5 years.
    When future plans are unsure how should a person make investment options?
    Currently, I am confused between should I put how much in equity or debt or in FD.

    • @DensonGeorge18
      @DensonGeorge18 Před 2 lety +1

      I think, It depends on when the units that you are withdrawing were bought.
      Say for example you started an SIP of 10 units every month for 20 years, when at the end of the 20 years you start a SWP, the first 20 units irrespective of whether you are a senior citizen or not, would be taxed as LTCG and not STCG.

    A good video I come across. Thanks for your efforts. However I am finding it difficult to understand compounding in this technique.
    Does every year return added to my principal portfolio to compound the amount?

    • @ETMONEY
      @ETMONEY  Před 2 lety

      Most welcome.
      Many people ask this question and some people contend rather aggressively that there is no compounding in mutual funds.
      So here's my viewpoint. The issue starts when an investor looks at a mutual fund as some random investment instrument. The fact is - a mutual fund is a portfolio of stocks, so it is important to understand what is happening in stocks.
      Now a stock - has compounding effects in terms of its capital & capital allocation decisions .. and by that logic, the same effect gets passed onto mutual funds. Ofcourse, this return-on-return effect is non-linear in equities .. but when one sees over a period of time (say 10 years), growth is clearly visible which is nothing but the compounding effect that's happening in stocks.
      I'm not sure how much I have been able to explain this .. but personal experience is that only 10-15% really get it & evolve their approach. The others continue with what they studied in their class XI textbooks & find it difficult to absorb alternate views.

    • @prathapreddy7684

      @@ETMONEY Thank you for detailing the view point. If possible could you please do a video with historical data.
      All your videos have the right content and easy to grasp. If we have one such video on this concept, it helps those who have alternate views... :)

    • @ETMONEY
      @ETMONEY  Před 2 lety

      @@prathapreddy7684 Thank you for your appreciation.
      Believe me, it is not worth explaining this. Have tried it with over a dozen people .. and most of them could not move beyond the school definition. Its how the mind works; it creates premises based on analogies, authority (who said it), recency and convenience. However, with experience .. some people do change/improve their views & hopefully that should happen in this case. On our part, it doesnt matter if anyone calls it compounding or ek-aur-ek-gyara or interest or satte-pe-satte :)
