First: let me say that you are the best of the CZcams auto reviewers. Why is it that no journalist has picked up on the truth that serious track junkies do NOT want ceramic brakes on their Porsches? The cost makes them prohibitive. They wear just as quickly. One wants ceramic for a street car, steel for track cars...

It seems like I see a Macan in every other driveway in the neighborhood so plus 1 for the Panamera. Handling and driving experience seems like it is closer than expected between these two. Is that your observation? I have watched your 971 rwd Panamera review several times. Cheers!

Fine car (silver wheels, please). Although, I hated the Macan when it was introduced seven years ago, it has won me over. With much anticipation, I look forward to the next generation. As for current models, I prefer the S and its performance/value proposition; i's all the Macan I "need." And I concur regarding buttons/switches versus haptic feedback on smooth surfaces. As Kincade (the late, great Albert Finney) tells James Bond in SKYFALL, "Sometimes the old ways are the best."

I agree with keeping the physical buttons in the Macan and all other Porsche models. The touch sensitive haptic feedback buttons are nice in some instances like on buttons that aren’t used regularly but I personally like to see individual physical buttons for controls like Sport mode or Launch Control and not a bunch of fingerprints, smears and scratches which ultimately ends up covering a fully touch sensitive surface. I’m honestly surprised that Porsche didn’t make the touch surface controls an option and the physical buttons standard considering all the optional things they sell that are standard on much less expensive cars. Porsche has perfected the science of options and charging customers for things they wouldn’t normally pay for in other brands.

My wife enjoys her’s except for when she shops. It is big enough, but Porsche should fix the usability issues of the trunk. 1. The hard trunk cover really limits the flexibility of the space so it ends up in the garage many times. 2. Even a moderately fully trunk prevents the auto close feature from working too many times, especially when the aforementioned trunk cover is pushed up by purchases and hits the back window.
