Also I think a kit for this would be great!
Love the dankpods shout out
Sign me up for the no-soldering kit! Love this project. Thank you for the updates.
Just remember, for every one butthead who says something negative, there are 1,000 people who love your stuff and don't say anything at all.
Thanks for choosing to use my tune Cloudy for the background music Guy. A nice surprise indeed.
!!! So glad I found it (and you found this!). Exactly what I needed. Lemme know if you have any socials you want me to point folks to. Happy to add a link to the description
I can't find it anywhere on youtube, where can I listen to it?
I am obsessed with this!
I didn't leave a comment after watching your first video, but should have. I didn't know it had gone viral, but I recognized right away that it was a COOOOOOL project. Congrats.
Here for the DIY Kit, I would love an LTE Version of this.
Can't wait to see more exciting projects coming out of this channel!
Bruh a kit would be the best thing since sliced bread. I want a minimalist phone, but I wouldn't do that without some way to listen to music portably.
I plan to do the same. I want my products to work for me! I don’t want to be a product for companies.
extremely interested in the kit
It is never pointless to pursue your passion. For what it's worth, I loved and support this project and all other similar DIY/OpenSource projects. Its the spirit of human exploration and I am thankful to you for such an inspirational content! Please keep following your passion and inspiring us with your videos!
Such a cool project! At the end of the day if you had fun building it that's all that really matters.
Amazing job! and great video too. Look forward to your future projects!!
I'd love a kit like that! this has been such a dream for so many years :) thank you for working on this and putting it out there!
Dude the “if u know u know” was just too legitttttt omg YESSSSSSSSS
Yesss! Still working on mine. Your projects are awesome! Keep them coming!!!
IM STILL MINDBLOWN BY THIS! LOVE IT
I’m only a few minutes in but not waiting to comment - so happy to see this part 2!
Definitely want to jump on the kit request list. I'm insanely impressed with this whole thing, and you should definitely be super proud of yourself.
Great job great video. Most interesting project I've seen in a while
I would love a kit! It would be awesome to see my parent's old iPod come to use.
Keep up the good work!
Absolutely Fantastic!
Great second part to this Project! :D
...and you convinced me to listen to classic Music from now on when I work on projects at home :D
Buddy.... again awesome !!! Greetings from Spain . Always waiting for the next vid
you are living my dream... and i was not expecting a part 2 video ... wow ! also yes to the DIY kit to make this spotify iPod classic with no soldering :))
Your effort is very much appreciated.
+1 for the DIY kit. Can't believe you only got 7k subs from this, was one of the most inspiring NEED THIS NOW hacker projects that I've ever seen.
That retoropie feature is a stand alone video by itself. You're killing it. Fantastic and cool experiment and loved the Dankpods call out
I don’t know if I could have more respect for you after these answers haha. Love your work, love your videos, and can’t wait to see if this project is even approachable for me to try on my own someday.
Awesome, Guy! Great project, but even better presentation. Unleashing the potential of both mom and dad.
Awesome work Sir! I appreciate you and your "Podify" projects. From one Ipod tweaker to another, in case you hadn't explored, swapping the slim to a thick 2007ish ipod classic back cover made more room for the HDD to SD CARD ,Bigger Battery mods for myself. Like you I destroyed my 1st ipod classic trying to cram everything into the original slim case after mods. Many thanks!
Knowing you read messages makes me write one obviously, your project is so good :) keep up the good work
I could watch Guy just wiring up an electric plug ;) I didn't/couldn't find my old iPod after the original video but I did find my old Creative Zen and having "all the ideas"
Keep up the good work!
dyi kit + "hold my hand" guide would be a thing I'd definitely buy. I've restrained from this project because I'd have to buy a lot of the stuff needed (ipod too) and I didn't wanna waste money on something I didn't know how to do
You could also buy a shell and click wheel because thats all that is needed from the ipod
Great to see an update! I agree with a lot of your points!
When I watched the original video, I've had the idea to do something remotely similar, but I'm currently busy with other projects, and have to work on other projects to lay the groundwork and dependencies.
I should mention that in that project, I'm imagining using a Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 (or newer), prototyping using the official I/O board, then spinning up custom PCBs to make the actual modules fit onto the mid-frame within the (broken device that isn't an iPod) shell with all the right connectors to make the hardware side a drop-in replacement. The software, however, is a different story, and that's one of the things I'd need to work on prior to the project I had imagined.
Oh yes a kit for this would be insane!
Not bad bud. Thanks for all the work that you do. I find it hilarious that someone would call it pointless. I have been making projects for years and never once have I had the desire to make anything that wasn’t “pointless”.
Don't listen to the haters and the meanies, what you did is absolutely amazing! No matter how simple it may seem to those who didn't actually do anything and can just complain, you've done a great thing that made a lot of people happy. The way you presented and documented your project opened the door for and brought together so many who had the same dream as you, and they will remember and be thankful to you for as long as their iPods pair with their Bluetooth headphones.
It’s not pointless. You learn soooo much building this because you are constantly busy with problems and how you can solve them. You also add to your, lets called it ‘toolbox of ideas’ for your future projects. Keep going!
this is the coolest thing i have seen in a long time.
Proud you`re exploring the kit idea!
Man. You're literally me. It hit home when it comes down to "it's more about building it then it is about having it". I bet you have a load of 75-80% finished projects too!
Oh, definitely! Filming/otherwise documenting them has definitely helped get more over the finish line. But yeah... Still quite the graveyard.
Let me start by saying thanks for the follow up! Great project. I think a kit to assemble one without soldering would be cool. But honestly, I would rather do it by myself (I think, never really done anything like this). I'll probably just wait for the documentation to get even better or an entire video tutorial in detail on how to make one
Dude your sick and everything you do is awesome 😎
The DIY kit would be incredibly cool. Keep us posted :)
I would buy a kit for this without a doubt, otherwise I'm gonna have to give it a go solo! Great work, I am amazed!
A kit is a great idea, keep up the good work man!
im watching this with smile on my face, ipod bring so much memories
I need a kit for this and am totally willing to pay for that. Absolutely love this project!
Great work. Keep up what you do and don’t listen to anyone who discourages you. Your content is very inspirational. Thank you.
Hey man, just watched the first video about this project, and now this one. Great job! This is pretty damn cool!
Thank you!
A kit would be awesome I've watched the first vid like 4 times. Big fan. Keep up the good work!
Nice job mate :) looking forward for your next amazing ideas :)
This is one of the coolest thing i have seen
this looks nuts! would love to see another build with an IPS screen, and i'm looking forward to possible future projects. quickest sub of my life:)
Someone actually just finished a version with an IPS display! If you go to the hackaday io link in the description, I posted it in a build log yesterday.
He's back!!
I don't comment on things often, however, I found this very intriguing and have an admiration for how you handled the hate and support both. Cheers to such a fun project and you earned my subscription. Keep tinkering!
Appreciate it!!
Absolutely would love the kit man!
I'm in love with your project! You are awesome sir =)
i love what you've done.
Very exited about that DIY kit
Ok, a no soldering kit would be awesome but one identical to the one you have would be even better.
I have an iPod Classic 6th gen that has some music I like but your idea is what I’ve always been wanting. Great job on this!
Also the “hold your hand” guide would be awesome!!!
WOW!!!! I throughly enjoyed watching your Spotify iPod upgrade. You’re a Genius. If I could buy one I would. Thank you for sharing your Gift.
I just came across this, and absolutely love it. I'm sorry to hear you've been receiving negative feedback from some viewers, I can't understand why that would be happening. I've been looking for a little Pi project for a while, and this feels like the ideal blend of nostalgia and fun to give it a go. Thanks for the effort, sharing the know-how, and the channel. Off to eBay....
We need the raspberry pi kit 🍀, you are the boss!!!
I needed the kit!!!! :)
I really hope the negative comments don't effect anyone. These projects are fun, it doesn't need to be incredibly useful. Awesome work
Dude the kit sounds awesome
THIS IS SO COOL. I constantly wish i had the time to do interesting stuff like this. hopefully when i finish my masters i can let all my intrusive thoughts win lol
These diy kits are an amazing idea I’m also up for one !
Dude I am looking at your code now. I watched the sPot video last week and thought you might be doing this a lot, then found relatively less videos on your youtube. ;). You are amazing.
Really only started doing videos this year! Will definitely be more.
All the best man. CZcams: Subscribed, Github: Followed. 😊
Appreciate that!! Thank you.
I would definitely love the kit I think your project is completely awesome and having my grandfather give me a couple of his old iPods that just didn’t work one of them being the fourth generation black and white screen it just seems like a no-brainer to do your project
100% would buy a kit for this!!

Thanks for the update and commentary. I am very interested in a kit. Cheers
This project looks incredible! Please do a kit eventually! :0
Ngl I would love a kit, great work man!
Wanted to say I enjoy your videos on this iPod project. I’ve messed around with hacking and modding in my younger days and I just love messing with stuff. If there’s a kit I would buy one very likely. Learning programming was always hard for me so I need a guide haha. Please make more unnatural hacks like this.
I think the Diy project you mentioned would be an awesome idea!
Love that kit idea
Delighted to see that you’re a Vulfpeck fan!
Big time
love the follow-up video.........as much as i don,t understand some technical phrases but i love the modding
Man your work is inspirational
Again i just love this and eagerly waiting for a easier diy kit 😍😊👍✌️
A kit sounds awesome!
I just love the amount of times you say raspberry pie
Yes please release a kit at some point. This is amazing.
Amazing project! I’m looking through my basement to find my old iPod!
