Cornmeal fried fish
Ingredients
• ½ cup milk
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1 pound red fish, cubed
• oil for frying
• ⅓ cup cornmeal
• ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
• ½ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon garlic powder
• ½ teaspoon dried thyme
• ⅛ teaspoon cayenne peppe
Directions
1. Combine milk and lemon juice in a medium bowl. Add fillets and soak for 5 minutes.
2. Heat oil in a deep saucepan or deep fryer to 350.
3. Mix cornmeal and flour together in a shallow bowl. Season with paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, thyme, and cayenne pepper. Dredge fillets in cornmeal mixture to coat both sides.
4. Fry fillets in hot oil, until cooked through and golden brown, about 3 to 5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
5. Serve with lemon slices and tartar sauce.

Nice catch and cook simple to the point easy watch. . Best part was that look in your eye when you mentioned the fish tasting like what your dad cooked outside. I felt that with you. My dad cooked fish like that when I was a kid. I find it interesting these days how good things like that from my youth make me feel.
I've got that same model fryer. Wife thought I was nuts for buying the double, but it works great!

My personal favorite to catch and eat whether grilled, fried, baked or on the skillet!
Some Chef guy from New Orleans blackened them years ago and they dam near ate all of them in Louisiana.

Hey Brant, get you some wheels. Even though it's light and easy to drag you will drag a hole in the bottom. I found out the hard way, never drug over anything but dirt, grass and gravel, and got a leak.

An outdoor fryer is genius! I like fried food more than I should, but I hate cooking it inside and having my whole house smell like fried food for a week!
Look into frying in heathy oils. Vegetable oils are not good for you compared to other oils I hear. Also great video!!👍🏻

We always used a lure for Specks called a MirrOlure. They were clear with a silver insert and a red head. Is that the same thing? Or something similar by a different company? I haven't fished for Specks since Daddy passed in '93.

Happy new year! Not to be a wet towel but man it's hard enough already to get some folks to wear a pfd when kayaking but in winter it's a no-brainer due to cold water shock. You don't have to put on the Mae west I simple suspender self inflatable is enough to verify that even Brant values l8fe enough to put on a pfd. Now carry on a have a blast bud!
