I bought that succulent and cactus plate too! It’s so cute!!! And I’ve absolutely been loving desert 🏜️ painting and art in general and I want it on my nails 💅 😂
I feel the exact same way and it is really hard to not buy things. But then I regret it and the things I will by never end. So I am seriously trying so hard not to buy things, and to convince myself that a nail polish isn’t one of a kind.

Something I've really taken to heart is this point that NerdLovesNails makes...there will always be another polish that will eventually come around that will either dupe or be really similar to a polish you pass up on...I'm paraphrasing, but this is pretty much the gist of what she means. With this being said...it's made it a lot easier for me to low/no buy. I've been buying polishes non stop since February...considering I don't want to own 500 bottles of nail polish I decided to limit myself to a plastic shoe bin for each season and one for base and top coats and glitter smoothing toppers. I may eventually do one for holiday polishes..jury is still out on that...but it's made it easier for me to really stop and consider whether or not I actually want a certain polish....like last month I realized that I couldn't live without Elbe's "Cure For Humanity' from LBOH, so I ordered it and I know that I'll enjoy it and won't pass over it like I am some of the polishes I purchased and am now currently feeling guilty about. lol I also seriously need to get better with my application and I want to learn how to stamp. I actually won the Maniology Ultimate Nail Care kit for June...I'm really not that artistic so I'd pretty much talked myself out of stamping, but considering I got all this cool stuff including five stamping plates and polish, I now have no excuse. Thanks to everyone's comments about low/no buy :) Today, I'm wearing Sassy Sauce "On a dark, cold night". I topped it with a matte finish...it's gorgeous. I'm about to do a 4th of July mani. I'm Canadian, but I'm a really bad Canadian because I totally forgot that it was Canada Day yesterday. lol I didn't even accidentally wear anything red to try to make up for how unpatriotic I am...sighs*...maybe next year...I live in the US so hopefully my 4th mani will make up for it. lol
I got into indie polish last year and exploded my collection from 5 polishes to near 50. This year I'm limiting myself to 12 polishes - one per month. I only do my nails about once a week so I only get through 52 manicures a year, and I'd hate to go a whole year without wearing a polish I own. I don't want to store polish, I want to wear it on my nails!
love the idea of limiting yourself to a shoe box so smart! because nail polish takes up sooooo much space lol that way your collection grows at a much smaller rate!

Figuring out I didn't want hundreds of bottles of polish combined with what available storage I had on hand made this a simple solution for me. :)

I grabbed some plates from What's up Beauty and I was able to get the Moyou Queen plate. Plates or a couple bucks? Absolutely. MoYou has committed a betrayal! So yeah I have a lot of plates coming my way LOL.

I kinda have been eyeing a milky pink polish because I don’t have this color and I want to be a fancy lady too lol. Maybe I can be a fancy lady with red instead lol. I don't know anything about Animal Crossing, but I couldn't resist the glowy aqua one. Also picked up Blossom from the Vernal Equinox collection while I was there. Later I got two Colores de Carol glitter crellies from someone's destash, never tried that formula before but they look super cute and one of them has stars ⭐😊 And finally, I found out that Orly was having a buy two get one free sale on their Breathable line, so I asked the chat bot if that included the Melting Point collection, and it responded "Absolutely!" So I put the three cool-toned shades from that collection in my cart, went to check out, entered the Breathable discount code, and it said the code would not apply. So I got bummed, but reached out to actual human customer service and supplied my chat bot conversation as proof, and a couple business days later they wrote back and said no the sale was not supposed to include Melting Point, but they gave me the deal anyway! Score! It never hurts to reach out to customer service, you might luck out. I think in early June I also got the Essie smooth-e base coat because I believe I figured out (via reddit research) the reason why my nail tips peel off so much is because of polyvinyl butyral in my base coats. Apparently this ingredient is so strongly binding that it will actually lift up cells of the nail when you remove it (if you have weaker nails like mine). So now I have to be vigilant about checking ingredients. So far the Essie is working well, nails are growing back and healing. I'm going to try my first PPU order because Rewind seems fun, but after that I'll probably take a shopping break until Black Friday. I need to use what I have, lots of fun options now! 💅
Yeah after july I'm going on a cut throat no buy. I fell down the indie nail polish rabbit hole in july of last year and the amount of polishes I've accumulated in the last year is honestly ridiculous lol. I love them all or I wouldn't have bought them but I can't keep on with this path because frankly I don't have the space and I want to enjoy what I already have. When I say cut throat what I mean by that is I will be unfollowing all indie brands on every spcial media I'm on and I will stop watching any youtube channels that do swatch release videos that may tempt me. I think I'll eventually be able to watch them again but I need to do this in the beginning to stop myself from buying anything lol.
