Daniel Ricciardo Proved You Wrong

  • Daniel Ricciardo has made a big statement in Miami with a P4 in the sprint race. Danny Ric has been a driver who fans have been debating for the last few years, after his slump in form took many by surprise. With Liam Lawson waiting for his shot at a full time drive in Formula 1, Daniel Ricciardo's recent results have had many questioning his future in F1 and if he really is just washed. I don't think so. Enjoy!

Nah mate, since Renault I was feeling kind of disappointed in him but then Mclaren came and i think he in fact left to never come back. Just because he shows some light of who he used to be at Red Bull from time to time, i dont think he will be back until he is at least consistet, i don't think anyone asks for consistent P5s given the car he as but at least consistent P12s, P11s, P10s even P9s; it has been at least 4 years of constant "I still have what it takes" while showing not much of it except for sporadical brinks of that and frankly, the fact that he qualified P4 is impressive but being P4 in the Sprint not so much given that it's just a parade of cars that in conserving mode the whole "race", not to mention that for the most important qualifying of the weekend he is knocked out in Q1
Ricciardo can only prove everyone who doubts him wrong if he starts getting results like Tsunoda or Magnussen because if they can, that means he also can and maybe even better if he still has what it takes, hell, Tsunoda turned a P15 in the Sprint to a finish in points at P8

I've always said no matter the driver, you have to prove it on track. Someone winning races 3+ years ago is not going to keep you in F1 forever because races aren't won by nostalgia or saying you'll improve, and neither are points. Its won in the here and now. This is the truth of every single sport alive. Sure you were great...last year, but are you great this year when they also still need to win points/the championship. Daniel needs consistency. Where is that before anyone hypes him up? Either steadily improve or get into the points, not just one race, one time, but over time and consistently. As much as I like Daniel, prove it on the track. I'm so happy he did well in the sprint, but now in P20 for the race, still waiting for that. Now that he says the car has finally been fixed, still waiting for that.

Gotta stop thinking in your feelings and think like F1 does...it was then, it is now, and it will be forever, a business and you fire the guy who can't do their job or prove he's an asset, and having bad seasons in succession, doesn't do that, but proving it on track that "he's still got it," will.

Ricciardo is not washed, he is just stuck, It is more like he is in Quicksand and trying to struggle his way out but the more he does the more he sinks. It has been the case for a couple of years now. Has no seat for 2023 - gets one mid-season - kinda gets settled in - and breaks his hand - Lawson performs - he pulls out Mexico. 2024, has no confidence in the car - gets the chassis replaced - bam performs in China - DNF, got ruined by Stroll and gets 3 place grid drop - P4 in Miami sprint - gets out in Q1. it looks like it's 2 steps forward and 1 step back at the moment.

Personally as a person Daniel is extremely likeable and nothing would be more amazing to see him make a massive comeback in terms of performance.
With all that said he's been off his form for well over 4 years. Sure he's had a few glimmering moments of his past performances showing us that he's capable of being that amazing driver we know he's capable of being, but his lack of consistency is extremely damaging to the argument that he should keep his seat. Niko Hulkenburg took some time in a auxiliary role and came back better than ever and Personally this is what I think he needs right now more than anything. He needs time to access his lack of performance and really refine or reinvent his driving style to suit the new regulations. There are so many young talents that are waiting on the sidelines for their chance to shine and I think a little turnover is important for the health of a sport that demands the best from people that have spent their entire lives hoping for an opportunity.

I agree to a certain extent there are some that are just using his recent form as an excuse to trash talk, but you can't talk about people having "short term memory" when his performance has been underwhelming for 4 years now. Then there is the irony of talking about people having "short term memory", and then using the occasional good race (like the Miami sprint or Mexico 2023) as proof that he is not washed. Danny Ric fans being so over-protective of him and making some ridiculous excuses for him, and turning on Yuki for whatever reason, is also pouring fuel to fire.
Very objectively, his performance just has not been great the past 4 years, and you can't criticize people for forming a negative opinion about Daniel. People will obviously have varying degrees of opinions of how "washed" he may be, some putting more weight on his old form and believing there is still something in him, some people will put more weight on his recent form and feel he just hasn't adapted well to this new era.
It's the exact same thing with Hamilton, some people still believe in Hamilton based on his past success, some people will think he's on a downward trend based on recent results. Neither are wrong, people are free to form their own opinion.

I understand the hope you're feeling as a Danny Ric fan, and what it's like to see a beloved driver get piled on (whether justified or not). Trust me. I'm a Checo fan.
I see Ricciardo as the opposite of Checo in terms of reputation. Both have had slumps, but one has been given the benefit of the doubt for a long, long time,
whereas the other was crucified during a season where he won two races against prime-dominant Max Verstappen on level ground and came in second in the championship.
Whether a driver's performance is waning or not, I'm not a fan of vicious pile-ons. There are respectful ways to discuss these things, and I'd like to see more of that in both fan-to-fan interactions and discussions of drivers whose careers may be coming to an end.
Back on topic: one decent drive does not a comeback make. I can't judge whether Ricciardo has still Got It, just like I can't say for certain that Sainz should replace Checo.
He hasn't proved his critics and doubters (of whom I am one) wrong yet, but that P4 is a decent start and I'm happy for his fans.

The race was pretty conditioned with the safety car. I really still believe that Imola will be better for Daniel, depending on how RB take their upgrades to the circuit. (You know, it looks like everyone will take upgrades at Imola).

Bro why you making videos with these kinds of titles after one qualifying? These people are so quick to say how good he is when Daniel hasn't delivered results in YEARS. I don't think we have short memory, you just focus on his performance years ago and ignore all the rest 😂 He's a great guy, I like him, so no, that's not why I'm "doing it", you're just delulu because of your bias 😂😂 You already been proven wrong hahaha #p18

I think this is something not just a Daniel thing. I feel like so many people will hate on drivers for no valid reason. I do want to add here that I see so many people hating on Yuki and hope he does bad for Daniels sake which I think is silly why not just appriacte both. So many people will downplay Lewis or Max for no good reason and all the "its just the car" talk from both sides is insane (yes they both won because they had a good car that got piloted by amazing drivers why cant we all just see this.) All the Ricciardo hate or any driver hate to the extend we recently had is toxic.
Honestly no driver is really that awfull. Yeah Stroll ,Sargeant and Zhou are probably at the bottom here but its still insanly had to get a super licnes. I which we could appreciate everyone. Not saying you should love them. Max is Direct and blunt Some people dont like this and thats okay but no reason to hate. Lewis likes to stand out and loves cheering around him, some people see this as self absorbed and as such dont like him but again no reason to hate the man. I havent even got anything to say about daniel here I cant even phatom why someone doesnt like the man.

This was just one good performance that's not enough to claim that he's back. I mean last year in Mexico he qualified P4 as well and finished P6 or sth like that and afterwards he was nowhere. He needs to be consistent or otherwise he deserves to get the boot.

I believe the f1 media exacerbates the situation, but it's simply about expectation if you believed, like me, that Ricardo is an amazing driver, then he simply wouldn't be having the struggles and inconsistencies hes having. Yuki sure isn't. In the other hand if you believed he was already average then his experiene in vcarb isnt surprising

I know you’re a Daniel fan and all… but this did not age well. Daniel has some great flash in the pan moments sometimes, like yesterday’s sprint… nice moment for Daniel to have there… but then it’s like… he remembers he’s post McLaren Daniel and not pre Renault Daniel and totally tanks and stays at the back of the grid all over again. It’s kind of a tiring cycle to see over and over again.

I still believe he lost his spark. Can he stay at f1? Maybe. Even though he isn't Ricciardo that we know of. He isn't on his form and I believe he won't be able to get back his form. The Ricciardo we loved is lost since 2021 and he is not coming back.

The way you said things is as if everyone being absurd for thinking he’s done after seeing his so many disappointing performances and yet one good result out of how many races could make you think that Danny could prove poepke wrong.

This Video just seems like a desperate fanboy talk. One good session doesn't justify blocking a seat specially when he got this result after many bad races. There are drivers of the talent of Liam Lawson who gave 3 good results in 3 drives. When you compare to them practically and financially it doesn't make sense. Riccardo needs consistency to get back respect.

Guy got himself knocked out of q1. You used to make much better videos not even too long ago for example your video on the interlagos circuit is amazing but now youre basically just f1 twitter in video form.
