In all seasons to God Almighty be true. Great topic.
We drive 45 minutes, past many church of Christ congregations, to get to one who's elders make sure the full counsel is taught. Thank you so much for sounding the alarm bell!❤️
Same here. It’s sad. I have to drive 45 minutes and spend about $200 a month to pay for tolls just to worship at a sound congregation that has a sound preacher and sound eldership that believes in teaching the FULL counsel of God.
When I lived in Florida, we drove one hour to church every Sunday, stayed out all day just so we could be there for 6pm worship, and then drove an hour back home. We also had two kids under two years old. You gotta do what you gotta do to hear the absolute truth! Well worth the drive every time 🤍
katyamonday9854, We you saved by believing the gospel of the grace of God recorded in I Corinthians 15:1-4?
AskMeBibleQuestions, Question #1. What are the two gospels recorded in the New Testament?
The congregation I just left, I had the eldership tell me when I asked “why isn’t the one church ever preached?”. They said because they don’t want to offend anyone since it’s a lot of members there who came from denominations.
This was a pretty large congregation. It seems evident to me that they don’t want to lose people because of $. I hope I’m wrong but that’s the only reason I would think someone would be afraid to offend someone.
I really appreciate you brethren and all of you at GBN.
The Church of Christ is not a denomination it belongs to Jesus Christ
qv7ti7rb1s, The one thing that all denominations have in common is that they combine the gospel of the grace of God with the gospel of the kingdom.
The CoC combined these gospels just like every other denomination.
That makes them a denomination.
Excellent lesson brother Hixson some very good points for Christ church keep teaching the truth
A Distinctive Preaching that could make your house burn!....Lord Protect Us people will be pleasing to us...
Truth not tolerance
Always great to hear the truth being spoken! Wonderful words of encouragement.
Here’s a hard topic I haven’t heard anyone preach on in quite a while.
How should Christians dress? Is modesty really important? Should Christians go to events or places like the beach where people are scantily clothed?
Paul preached the gospel of the grace of God.
Peter preached the gospel of the kingdom.
Where in Acts 2 are people being baptized into Christ?
Acts 2:38-39 explains that it is in baptism that our sins are forgiven. Galatians 3:27 tells us that we are baptized into Christ. Taking all the verses together about baptism gives us the full understanding on this topic.❤️
@jgard6280 The water baptism in Acts 2 is being baptized "in the name" of Jesus for the remission of sins, but for the Jews. Being in Christ or being baptized into Christ (not into water, but into Christ) did not come until later by the apostle Paul, by revelation from Jesus for us. The one baptism that Paul refers to in Ephesians is 1 Corinthians 12:13 and it does not involve water because it's a work of God, not anything we do.
@@bobconolty2692 God is not the author of confusion. The same water baptism that saved the Jews on Pentecost is the water baptism that saves all who will obey the gospel call today. There is neither Jew, nor Greek in Christ.❤️
@@jgard6280Actually, the one baptism described in 1 Corinthians 12:13 is our baptism today. The Spirit actually puts us into the body of Christ just like the verse says. You are right about there being no difference between Jew and Gentile today, but that is not true when Acts 2 was written. The gospel of Grace which was committed unto Paul for us came after Acts 2. So did being "in Christ".
@@bobconolty2692
“Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”
Acts 10:47
These gentiles were baptized in water.
I officially offer to debate Mike Hixson concerning the gospel of the grace of God.
A royal priesthood and holy nation is referring to Israel not the body of Christ.
This is from the new testament
When royal priesthood was mentioned
@rod5654 It is in the new testament, but not everything in the new testament is written for the body of Christ. The passage is from 1 Peter which is written to Jews that were scattered because of persecution. Chapter 2 verse 5 even says to offer up sacrifices. That's not for us. Jesus is our once for all sacrifice for our sin. We don't offer up sacrifices.
@jgard6280 Are you saying that this verse says the Gentiles are offering sacrifices?
Romans 15:16 - That I should be the minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Ghost.
The Church of Christ denomination branched out of the restoration movement of the 19th century, following Stone and Campbell. This is well known.
