- Collingwood is a great place to live if you enjoy the outdoor life and if living an active life is important to you. Collingwood has a lot to offer from Blue Mountains to Wasaga Beach.
I've lived here my entire life, I'm 25 now. The cons you missed were
1. Rent is crazy expensive
2. Drug problems and crime are increasing, especially by the Matthew Way area
3. Buying a house as a young person will be next to impossible in this town
4. Career options are pretty limited

Collingwood has been home for me for 6 years. I'd say the biggest con of moving here from somewhere else as a young person is finding a job. There's not much to offer here besides serving/hospitality, and sales. It's a very expensive place that doesn't match what the job market offers.. Hence why it's about 80% retirees. Great video!

Not looking to move to Collingwood but to Thornbury. I am guessing this is close enough that it will be the same.
I am born and raised in Cwood and so was my Dad and his Dad before him. We are having a housing crisis and MANY local people are being forced out of their hometowns. This is due to the massive immigration coming from India, International student program has created a major problem all across Canada. You want to really know what's going on in Cwood, then ask a local who has created a family here. The local people are getting fed up and so it has become unsafe in this town. Three local teens robbed a jewellery store to try and make ends meet. Trudeau must go!

Agreed the 400 is 45min-1hour away. But toronto is 1hour and 40min

There is an airport shuttle service from Barrie that takes people from Collingwood. It goes through Barrie outbound and back. Barrie is close to the 400 so it's a quick ride after that. Otherwise it's private transport and it's 150 to 200 per trip. Hard to get anywhere from Collingwood if you don't have a car. Apartments are expensive to rent and are often hard to find. Great town however with lots to do for families.
Traffic signs says pedestrians yield 😂traffic . More bicycle and walking needed . Traffic calming is a must. I don’t know who designed it Kettling, a lot of noise and garbage into the town and accidents are happening all the time I’ve lived in Collingwood since 1955 I don’t wanna get political, but when it was under the shipyard liberal government. It was a heck of a lot better town

To many foreign migrants are moving to Collingwood. Starting to destroy the vibe. Becoming just like Toronto. Look elsewhere.
