- The Taurus PT 92 FS is a classic firearm from Taurus Pistols and has a long history of reliability. The PT92 is very similar in design as the Barretta 92fs and was manufactured in a factory once owned by Barretta
I’ve carried it open and concealed. However, it is a full sized gun and not easy to conceal. I’ve had it as a truck gun and as just a range gun and have no problem reaching for it on occasion even today. The Taurus PT 92 is a great value and a great gun.

I've owned my PT-92 AF for 10 years now and have never had any type of issue with it. I carried it concealed for about 7 years in a plain old OWB holster from Alien Gear. I now carry the TH-9 everyday and still in an OWB holster from Craft. As far as the PT-92, it is my bedside pistol now. I trust my life with it. I love my PT-92. Good video Boomstick Tactical.
Thanks for watching
Taurus has stepped up their game with the G2/G3 family, but the PT92 is still the best pistol from Taurus.
Agreed
I have owned a Taurus pt92afs for years and it’s never had any problems. It’s also my favorite pistol I own especially for spending time at the range shooting
They're fun
PT 92 the ultimate Gun.
They're great guns
My favorite pistol.
The PT92 was a clone of the early Beretta, with its frame safety. I have one of those pistols. Over the years, each pistol evolved in slightly different directions, with the Beretta choosing the slide safety for the M9 program, and Taurus refining the frame safety.
They're great guns
@@BoomStickTactical Absolutely! After being long dismissed as a 'cheap Beretta copy', it seems the PT92 is finally getting some respect. In last night's quick search, I was surprised to see how many positive reviews have been recently posted.
I've owned my 92 for 15 yrs, I haven't had 1 problem out of it. It's a awesome pistol. I also carry a G2C , no issues.
This thing is a beast. I'm glad to have mine.
I’ve had my PT 92 AR or at least 15 years. I love this firearm. Great video.
Thanks for watching
Taurus are Bad Ass!!! I have an 92FS one of my best guns!!!
The 82 is a classic and one of the best guns Taurus has made.
This is one bad ass pistol dont give a rats ass about what anyone says. Its crazy accurate and reliable. Id trust my families life with it. I have over 3000 rnds thrugh it and only 1 jam and it was probably my fault.
Id put it up against the bereta and glock any day of the week.
These things are great
Taurus makes really good firearms. I have a few and all of them have been reliable. I prefer all metal guns, da/sa in semiautomatics. The pt92 is a great duty weapon for someone that doesn't want or can't spend a fortune on their firearm.
These things will run forever
I just recently Purchased a Brand New Taurus PT92, I must say I do not regret it at all. I'm a first time gun owner and Always had my father and uncle train me with a Beretta 92fs.
However a Beretta is just not an option for my budget and I will be honest Girsan Regard was a nice gun but the Taurus PT92 just was my prefrence when shooting it and handling it. The Frame Mounted saftey was another winner for myself as well along with the Decocker. All in All very happy with the PT92, My version is the Black one.
Fun fact the PT92AFS, it is the handgun of choice for SGT Nicolas Angel from the movie Hot Fuzz, The handgun makes its appareance when Angel and his partner Danny Butterman take on Sanford.
They're good guns
Thanks for your review. I've had either a PT 99 {same as a PT 92 but with adjustable sights) or a PT 92 since 1990. These are dependable and accurate firearms.
I'm happy with mine
Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching
One of the best semi auto's made.
It's a great gun, especially for the price.
Great video my friend,i have a Taurus 92, mine is the two tone finish black frame stainless steel slide I have the gun for 14 years and I will never sale, great gun.take care and stay safe.
Thanks for watching
Great video
Thanks
Good video nice looking gun
Thanks.
After Lethal Weapon and Die Hard came out, everyone wanted a Beretta 92 back then. I too bought a Taurus PT 92 because I couldn’t afford the Beretta either.
Mine was an old school one though with wooden grips, blue steel finish, and the safety didn’t also decock the hammer. I traded mine to a friend for his Mini-14, which I still have.
I like your “newer” version with the matte finish, accessory rail, decocker, and black grips 👌
Those movies are why I wanted one also
Do you have any rough idea of the round count in this gun and have you had to replace the locking block at any point?
I'm looking for an alloy frame DA/SA pistol for cheap. So far I've narrowed it down to a Bersa TPR9, used Beretta 92, a Girsan Regard, or this PT92/99. I definitely would like to mount a light and possibly some tritium sights, the sights are a big issue with the 92 style guns of course. Thanks for the review.
Unfortunately I don't know how many rounds I've put through it. Lets just say its well used.
If there's a weak point to the older Beretta 92 FS and clones? It's the locking block, seen more the a few break in the older pistols. Believed Beretta fixed this in newer pistols?
Agreed. That's why a lot of SF guys didn't want the M9 and went with the 226
Anyone know where i can get magazines for my taurus pt92 ar I can't seem to find none
You can get them here www.avantlink.com/click.php?tt=pl&ti=4331&pw=323581&mi=14459&pt=3&pri=4829
I thought for the longest time that Beretta moved the safety to the slide to differentiate their product from Taurus’s. I could be wrong but that’s what I thought.
No. It was a trend there for a while.
They put it on the slide to accommodate the department of defense drop-safe requirements.
Don’t they make an adjustable rear sight version?
Yes
How many grains were you shooting?
These were 115 grain
@@BoomStickTactical have you tried 124? seems ejections patterns on 115 are inconsistent.
I dont own one but Id pick that over an M9, 92F and a Girsan Regard..
Why?
Because of the manual safety placement...
Frame safety is better in my opinion also
@@BoomStickTactical got that right...
Tbh...Im more in favor with a manual safety similar to the 1911..
@@BoomStickTactical
I agree 👍
Have one 30 years old and one a year old. Simply wonderful machines and they are sexy
They're nice
