I love this era. I was at Uni. Fantastic. Martha and the Muffins. The Buggles. Tears for Fears, Ultravox, Depeche Mode, OMD, Spandau Ballet, The Thompson Twins, Alphaville........different genres. But not artificially created by a businessman.

Actually, the genres were artificially created by business men. It's called record labels and record execs. And music critics. They existed back then and were ever more influential pre-internet. It was every bit as commercial as what's around today. Stop romanticizing the past just because it's the past and you were younger.

@@nullvoid244 Yes but there was much greater musical variety. So leave me alone! The music then was better than today...period.

@NunzOnDrugs Yeaah, I completely agree with you..bands today are so dull, and you look at bands of the late 1970s and early 1980s and they were more interesting, and had more bite....today's bands are just limp.
I wasn't even alive when the Teardrop Explodes were around and they mean more to me than today's music

Bands are cobbled together artificially such as boy bands and esp K Pop. I love Teardrop. I bought Kilimanjaro casette tapein 1983..still have it.

Whoever uploaded this...where do you live? Don't mean to be nosy, but I just wanted to know where to drop off a crate of beer for uploading this. I've been looking for a live version of this song for yonks. One of my all time favourite tunes. Not as good as the studio version, but it has it's highlights. Balfe singing is quite funny. What an arsehole!

Agius and Hammer only recorded one track with the Teardrops' which was 'Passionate Friend'. Thankfully Cope came to his senses and got Balfe back in the band for 'Wilder'. Hammer looks as though he should've played keyboards for Peter Frampton and looks seriously uncool, as mentioned in Cope's excellent 'Head On' book.

I love looking at these old video of Julian, especially when you compare it to his book, saying that both autobiographies are really good stories, don't know how much of it is true thou, he can't of remembered much with all the acid he says he took, and I can't imagine him sitting there doing a journal b4 bed each night with all that madness raving around him. to back this argument up one of the photos include JP from the La's who he calls Joe from the La's.
